I love your storytime today, I too have a daughter that we were blessed with from birth to my arms. She completed our family of 3 boys and 1 daughter. I never sang her any nursery rhymes but instead sang her made up songs of 'you are my sunshine' with different verses of how she came to be our daughter. So she knew from a young age who her biological parents are. Rest assured that you and Ola are doing the best for your daughter. And yes it should be up to u when you will share her magical story. Our girl is now 9 and knows all her families and we openly let her know she is loved by all. I love your vlogs, keep it up!!!

And honestly, the courage needed when putting it all out there via RU-vid given any/all the unwanted attention. Are you prepared to be approached in public regards to such a sensitive subject in front of baby? Or if her classmates should discover this journey? Adoption is normal in Samoan culture. Kids are literally raised by a whole family and village (as the saying goes). However, for you guys I can certainly understand how sensitive an issue it is. As you say, there will be a time when you will tell Thessaly and one day she’ll meet her other side but it’s good for now to strengthen your bond with her. All the best

I adopted a Son but his mom took him back knowing he grew up well and so smart in school it was soo hard for me from 3 months to 10 years old but torn away from our arms was very difficult and hard for us ..we send our🙏🙏 prayers and love for your ohana💗 blessed week to you and your beautiful family💞

It’s not easy but I have a boy&girl that are adopted it’s still in process from Hawai’i and we were blessed by my two cousins who I called my sisters any way cause I watched a lot of videos on adoption I went straight forward and tell both of them that they are adopted and who there parents was only because u didn’t want them to hear ut from someone else but be strong cause people talk but when it’s the right time let her know so she don’t have trust issues with both of u just know u both are doing an awesome job gby and ur little Aiga❤️❤️❤️

Aww..sorry that situation happened,but people talk. Kids dont know any better and what NOT to say. Obviously it hurts you as parents to hear that. It's good if you have that out in the open with Thessaly from the start. Obviously in an age related way. You could just explain shes adopted,and she's special because you CHOSE her. I personally think you should let her see that side of the family as well. It will be emotional at the start, but in time I am sure she will adjust and be able to move between the two easily. Hi nephew! Good to see you guys are feeling better. Sorry that happened to you guys but kids are like sponges they here things adults talk about and feel its their responsibility to share the news. My greatest fear was that your brothers were going to find out from some one else b4 i was ready to tell them and that happened when jeff was 5 and Miah was 3 when the birth mom came and wanted them back. What im trying to say is samoans faitala and she's going to find out sooner rather later but you and Trish just need to prepare yourselves for that moment. You too are so wonderful with her that im sure she's not gonna care like the boys. We told them that they were special and were meant to be our children but since we couldn't have kids our Heavenly Father made it so they could come to us a different way. How special were they that our Heavenly Father loved them so much to have blessed them with not only us but also a mother that have birth to them. Any ways I love you guys and miss you guys cant wait to meet Thessaley. Ola i know that anger of yours wanted to get the best of you but im sure those kids didnt mean you know harm. Families are created and children come into families through different means, biological, adoption, surrogacy, fostered, etc. we should change the narrative that adoption is a negative thing…and you said the right thing to the ‘kid’ that you and Olaf are Thessaly’s “real” parents. Yes she has her biological parents, her birth father and birth mother. And you and Olaf are her ‘adopted’ parents, and as her adopted parents, you are her ‘real’ parents. Real in the sense that at this time, you provide for her, you care, love, support and legally she is yours, she belongs to you and Olaf. The negative connotation of the term adoption that could mean “unwanted” or “given up” needs to be corrected. Adoption is a wonderful thing and it’s how some families are created. Don’t let it provoke anger, fear and retaliation but be transparent about it, even if it is a younger child that needs to be told. Yes Thessaly is adopted but she is my ‘real’ daughter and we are her ‘real’ parents.
