It’s starting to freak me out how many RU-vidrs I watch on the regular are coming out with impeccably timed vids about ditching hormonal birth control 😅 I’ve been doing research about best ways to reset my hormones / generally prepare for such a big change after 11 years on the pill and I am STRESSED 🫠 but seeing so many vids recently from my fav RU-vidrs has felt like having a big sis to relate to🤣🤣
I went off and it's been hard (due to what birth control has done to me) but worth it. I had no libido and it caused me to completely lose my eyebrows! I also had memory problems (like couldn't even remember my own address) and horrible word recall. My best advice is to take chaste tree, raspberry leaf, and golden thread supreme! Also, if you notice you're not getting a regular period, go see a naturopathic doctor and ask for a full hormone blood panel! You may need natural progesterone to get your body regulated again! I'm speaking from experience! Regular OB's and doctors don't know how to help you! They also will gaslight you into thinking birth control has no effect on you. Total lies and garbage!
@renee2764 no. Because women are waking up to what birth control does to us! It puts your body into a state of pregnancy! I haven't been able to have children for 3 years because of birth control.
It is not a coincidence. Notice how all of the content creators that they use are religious or slightly religious women, young, and have had previous bad experience with one method of birth control. They're targeting a specific demographic that pull towards conservativism to promote their anti-birth control/anti-abortion rethoric.
My natural cycle used to be wonderful- but I've never had any pregnancies, so in my 30s, my estrogen levels went WILD. Now I have fibroids, cysts, etc. so my doctors advised some diet/lifestyle changes and hormonal birth control. I was worried. I don't know any women who like themselves *more* on bc. But... you expressing fear about ditching bc back in the spring actually made me less worried. It's been going REALLY well for me so far! Long story short, open convo about our experiences is so, so critical. Glad the transition has gone well for you.
I don't know what I'd personally do without hormonal birth control.. Probably need blood transfusions?😅 If I don't use them I will have my cycle every single day. There's no known reason either. I've had biopsies and exams without any explanation. I'm so grateful for my meds. I'm glad you figured out how to get off of them because they were causing flares for you. If you ever do need them again there are lots to try that could be better. I remember one that made me feel like I had a completely different personality.😂 It wasn't pleasant.
Max is precious and seems like the sweetest boy, but your friend’s pup made me miss my 2 Westies so, so much!! One of ours has been gone quite awhile and the other we lost abt a year ago. 😞💕
I am so grateful for natural cycles. I used the Daysy before it which works pretty much the same but switched to natural cycles when I started using the Oura ring because it’s easier using my oura ring than taking my temperature when I first wake up and it just makes thing so simple and easy. I do not do well on artificial birth control and these options have worked so well for me the last 3 years.
@@ramah6975 they recommend wearing it as much as possible to track other stats but I’m not a big ring person so there a lot of days I only wear it at night for the purpose of using it with natural cycles, at night while asleep is all that is required for cycle tracking. You can shower with it safely if you want to but even when I’m wearing it all day I usually take it off to charge while I’m in the shower.
I'm diagnose with cancer, i have just 2 years to live, i've never been this scared to die, i'm just 35, i cry everyday wishing for a miracle to happen. i don't know why im saying this here. put me in your prayers.
I'm really sorry. i've was in such situation 15 months ago. i had just 2 months to live till a friend told me about a healer who helped me. Him cured me, I don't know how him did it. but i owe him my life. His the reason i'm alive today.
Hi! I’ve had the same sponsor schedule for the last 3-4 years. Monday videos are always unsponsored and I open slots to accept a sponsor for Wednesday/Saturday vlogs :-) I’m thankful when the slots fill as it’s the way I can afford to product 3 vids a week and support my team of awesome women 🤗
Just wanted to note that with any form of hormonal birth control you never have a real period, its withdrawal bleeding. I just think that kind of interesting and important to know because so many dont!
Exactly! So interesting! Your body's own reproductive hormonal system is completely shut down by any sort of hormonal birth control and you're unable to ovulate (which is a necessity for a "real period"). Having said that, I also find it quite surprising how Natural Cycles predicted the start of the first period after birth control, when in fact, the body hasn't even prepared for ovulation at that point (5 weeks equals approximately three weeks before ovulation) 😅
RANDOM BUT PLEASE TRY L’OCCITAINE DRY SHAMPOO it’s not an aerosol and it leaves your hair feeling fresh without the feeling of residue! Please let everyone know how awesome it is so it’s never discontinued 😅🙏🏼
I liked the format of this video, but oof, starting the video essentially on a 10+ minute ad for a sponsor, followed by a YT ad, was honestly kind of rough to sit through. 😅 Appreciate you sharing about and normalizing feminine health!
While I absolutely get this take, I disagree. I skip every ad by everyone ever but this one I happily sat through because it seemed personal and I was very interested in both her personal experience as well as the company. I’d much rather have an ad that almost doesn’t feel like an ad at all than one for a food subscription that I can’t afford
Thanks for the feedback! Contractually it was only a 60 second ad but the chat about getting off birth control was something I was wanting to talk about. But I can keep the ad more separated from the topics I am speaking about moving forward if that’s preferred!
Great video! I’m a huge fan! Random question, when you host events for friends etc, do you pay for everything?? (It’s not a cultural thing to host events for others in Australia) so I’m very curious! I think your events look incredible!!!
I use the natural cycles to avoid getting pregnant and know when I am fertile. I’m Catholic and we’re not supposed to use any type of birth control so learning when I am fertile helps us know when we can be intimate and when to avoid it. 2 years and it’s worked out great! My husband also knows my cycle well.
My midwife professor in college literally called this method of contraceptive "Pope's Roulette" because it's the only format recognised by the Catholic Church. And because it's not as effective as medications (obvs reasons). Your comment made me remember that term❤. Interestingly, she's actually an IVF baby. So I'm sure she's not against it, she's just experimenting with her health.
As a tiny channel I would love to know what music is in this video in particular but honestly id love a playlist or list of any kind of your most used royalty free standards ❤ theyre all wonderful 😊 also i have a playlist of ladies that do tiny tidies with me every Tuesday and i always giggle when you started calling yours that 😂 join us for tiny tidy Tuesday anytime 😅 ps long time silent viewer but im always here quietly rooting you on my dear and i personally loved the ad/chat and thiught it came off very natural and just downloaded the app ❤ you cant please everyone 😅
You should consider too get the spiral, I'm so sorry I don't know what it's called in English. It is the bedst thing I did fore myself. I was so sick on the pils. Big hugs from Denmark 🌹💝🥰
San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point are so lovely!! I love seeing you explore So Cal. I feel like I need to visit this Ecology Center! It reminds me of Earthbound Farms here in Carmel Valley, Ca. I also want to visit Mission San Juan Capistrano one day, the photos I’ve seen of it look HEAVENLY.
IVF nurse watching this, hearing: "trying to get pregnant after 30" . Girl Im a long time fan. I just want you (with autoimmune issues) to be very cautious and use caution with the issues we all have if we try to concieve after 35 (sometime its the siblings that become the issue). IVF Dr.s are now picking up on how autoimmune and infertility have links. We've always known age is #1 factor. ❤Elective Embryo Freezing , could be worth a thought/read up. Godbless for the future.
You mentioned you have been listening to intense, scary podcasts. If you need a palate cleanser (pun intended) you should listen to Ghostrunners Podcast! Not about ghosts or anything scary! So wholesome and hilarious. Correct Opinions with Trey Kennedy is a great one as well! Love what you do Michel, you are a light here on YT
I feel like Jordy isn’t often in these vlogs, are you choosing to feature him less on the channel? Also, it’d be fun seeing another sit down chat with him to see a perspective on how marriage is from the husband’s standpoint, or even you two going to pick out materials for a DIY project!
Michel I’m so glad you came down to Dana point I live 5 minutes away it’s my husband and I favorite place did you get to see the jetty, drive over the bridge where boats are there is a Great Walking path there, people walk there dogs and the seals usually sun bath there ,at the end of the are to the left my sweet husband proposed to me there 29yrs ago ❤
You should reach out to Alexandria Ryan, she's a very newly diagnosed Lupus girly (just announced her diagnosis in a life update on her channel today) and would probably really benefit from your wisdom and experiences!❤
The timing of this video is impeccable! I just got off hormonal BC 4 days ago after being on it for 5 years. I was ready to give my body a break and prioritize health. It's only been a few days but my emotions have been all over the place. I've been quite moody and irritable but glad to hear you experienced similar and it should pass! Love your videos and keep us updated on your Natural Cycles journey!
Donut peaches are perfection! I’m thinking yours could have been a touch underripe because the skin typically is not tannic at all. Just fuzzy! I’m rating the ones I’ve enjoyed 10/10!
I wanted to tell you why you are my role model. I was born at 25 weeks, my lungs needed oxygen and I also had retinopathy, if the doctor didn't realize that I had it, I would lose my eyesight 😞 but thank god they found it early and all I needed was laser, but I still can't carry heavy stuff. I had 30% chance of staying alive because I was so small and I had a lot of pipes and stuff. That's why I thank God everyday for keeping me alive. You are such an inspiring person and I look up to you so much 🤍
Ahh Michel!! I love this so much and thank you for sharing this. I love all your videos and they are so entertaining. You are always so on top of work and uploading videos every week. Ilysm and I hope you’re having an amazing day 💕
I love your videos Michel! I just started Natural Cycles recently too ❤ also, I have really enjoyed reading the book Period Power by Maisie Hill to learn more about female health :)
Also considering getting off the pill - I’ve been on it for almost half my life. I want to know who I am without it. Just read a fascinating (read: terrifying) book on it as well called How the Pill Changes Everything. It’s written by an evolutionary psychologist (I’m also an evo psych myself) and is heavily research based. Honestly should be essential reading for women considering hormonal birth control.
Natural cycles is an EXTREMELY annoying subscription. If someone wanrs to be child free for their life, they're just supposed to pay for this forever??? That's SO wrong.
Girl. If you want to be child free for your entire life and don't want a chemical solution for that... it's called getting your tubes tied. Day surgery and you're done. Youre welcome
Unlike free apps, our monthly subscription helps protect you and your data 🔒 Birth control costs money both to make and supply. Our subscription fee means we can continue offering another hormone-free birth control option. If you live in the US, you can now get your Natural Cycles subscription reimbursed through your insurance provider.
@@savemoneysaveplanet Natural Cycles is the first and ✨only✨ app of its kind to be FDA Cleared and CE Marked. Most other fertility apps assume your cycle is 28 days long. This means the fertile window they give you is not personalized to you.
@@Naturalcycles Daysy is also a hormone free birth control just like natural cycles but is a 1x fee. If natural cycles offered either a 1x fee or a subscription, id be more interested in using it. But I'm tired of subscriptions and won't be using it solely for that reason.
I love the beginnings of your videos now it is very calm, relaxing and real. 😊🩵 We like taking the Metrolink from San Bernardino to San Juan Capistrano and wandering around. We also go to visit the mission when the swallows return in March each year. Dana point is so nice with all the boats in the marina. We’ve sailed out of there with my daughters before with a program called “Heart of Sailing” (for people with Autism.) My aunt also lives in Dana Point.
Loved hearing you share about your experience of going off hormonal bc! I went off of it about 5 months ago as well. I feel like I am learning so much about my body and it’s been super empowering. ❤ I’m paranoid and being extra safe so always using another form of non-hormonal bc in addition to using the app, but I love it so far. I think it will be really helpful when we do start trying to get pregnant!
Michel I'm so proud of you and truly get joyful to see you getting more sponsors and more success and you finding your content that makes you happy and fulfilled
Great vlog, as usual. It looked like you were using Dazzle Dry Nail Polish …. I’ve been using it for about six years. Love that it dries in 5 minutes and lasts over 2 weeks 💅 Your nails look so 🤩
I would like to address something @micheljanse I REALLY REALLY appreciate how you keep it so honest on your channel!!!!!! I just unsubscribed to a family channel bcuz she says things to make her audience think things then she gaslights her audience by saying they spread rumors! It just drives me crazy when RU-vidrs do that! So I appreciate you so much for being honest! Thank you ❤
@@HeyItsMe1224 I’m just saying for me DL would also mean flights and hotel expenses so it than becomes even more unaffordable/expensive and I couldn’t do it in just a day trip because of how far away I am. So I think it’s cool that those that live closer can make a day trip out of it.
Those limes are amazing and I would love to find them in the uk….and if you could pop some of the bread in the post that would be great thank you 🤣😂 ….fabby vlog and thank you for sharing…Louise xxx
Got off of birth control back in January and its been the BEST ….. granted got a hysterectomy (for my choice of non-hormonal birth-control)back in Feb, so a bit different but biiiiig fan of not more pills 😅🤪
Thank you for the day trip to places I know I wanted to visit. Also, thank you for reminding me I need to get some donut peaches. And finally, a huge thank you for have transparent discussions about a topic we women need to have more openly. This type of content or topic will help some to have easier conversations or more importantly to advocate for ourselves when the time is necessary. Female health in general is still very much lacking the progress it deserves medically and therefore hard to get the professional support we need. Discussions like this might help others to feel more comfortable discuss with others or raise concerns with medical professionals You get what I’m trying to say. I hope you have the best rest of your weekend 😊
Here to chime in how wonderful my copper IUD is as another form of hormone free birth control! Didn't change my period. So happy there are so many options for birth control and family planning.
❤❤❤ such a soothing voice. Your eyes sparkle when you even talk about boats. Would love to hear comments on textures with gluten free breads n thing's. Many have a very sort of sandy texture still searching here for better. Living vicariously through you. ❤❤❤❤
