I flew from Duluth, MN to Yerevan, Armenia and then to Sochi, Russia last month. Altogether it took me close to three days, considering 6 hours wait in Chicago, 14 hours wait in Vienna, Austria and another 6 hours in Yerevan. After I arrived to Sochi I had to travel by train for another 5 hours to my home city. Quite a trip!
@@SenorJuan2023 if you'd paid attention you'd notice Putin is 10x more for free speech than western leaders. Those few cases of jailed journalists were criminals hiding behind journalist label and even those Putin had nothing to do with.
U should do it while summer. It could be your lovely travel for whole life. Write me if u need any help) and now there very cheap prices in Russia- best time
Glad to see you Rachel producing this kind of videos. Thank you for sharing with us this side of your life. Hope to see more of this soon, if it's possible, of course. Wish someday to visit Russia. What a wonderful country, the capital of the multipolarity world 😊
Glad you came back to a civilized and non-depraved country, so welcome to Russia Rachel, besides the National Day of the Russian Federation on June 12 is a sign of future happiness for you
You're back!!! Yay!!! So glad to see you here in Moscow again and get more of your walking vlogs, btw you look amazing^^ please enjoy Moscow's summer a lot!
I am actually scared to go back to The US It would be cool to know what sort of problems you ran into if any. Im an American War veteran who's lived in Siberian Russia for over a year now and I have to go back eventually to Renew passports and visas... Thanks for the video.
I haven’t had any trouble going back to the U.S. and I’ve been back and forth a few times over the last year. Good luck with your situation, I hope you’re able to get everything sorted out!
Welcome Rachel back to Russia 🥰we love you and are always waiting for you. Our house is your house - we have such a saying you already own. In general, we are waiting for everyone to visit from any country in the world and we love everyone. Favorable atmosphere and good work from the cool Murmansk of the northern part of Russia, by the way, we also have +13 degrees and the sun has been 2 days already.
Great to see you back Rachel hope you had a good time back with your family. Though I've only visited Moscow a couple of times there is still a lot of places I've not yet seen...the last pace I went to when I was there was Park VDNKh it was amazing seeing culture from all the past Soviet states & the fountains are amazing. Keep up the good reporting & exellent work you do 😀😇
I am glad, Texan girl, that you have found a better location in Moscow and are better acclimated and happy. It would be interesting for you to make a walking tour, not only in Moscow but also in other Russian cities.
More vlogs please. Hope to see you when I visit Moscow sometime. All the best, you're one of the bright lights in this dark world. I see you here in Africa. May the Blessings Be.
Thanks a lot for the useful tips and tricks Rachel! I am a Russian-American (dual citizenship) living in Las Vegas. I really miss the times when it only took me 15 hours to get to Moscow from Vegas with just one short layover in Amsterdam. I really want to go back to Moscow to visit my relatives and friends since it’s been a while but the plane tickets still seem to be very pricey
I'm so glad that this time it was easier for you to get to Russia without too much stress, because last time it spoiled your mood. It's good that you're ready to walk around the city and that could be a topic for future videos. There are very beautiful, small towns near Moscow, you can visit them too. Welcome, glad to see you in a good mood =)
@2:10, no you don't look exhausted, you still look gorgeous. Enjoy your travel. We hope to see more videos of what it's like inside Russia....from an American lens.
Greetings!!! I hope that you’re enjoying your latest visit. I too live in Austin. I’ve been studying Russian for over a year now and hope to make my first trip in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, I look forward to following you on your journey. Peace!!!
У вас все получится, и с освоением русского языка, и с посещением Великой России! Россия - очень красивая страна, вам обязательно понравится! Успехов вам в достижении целей, пусть Удача сопутствует вам везде и во всем!
I highly recommend taking a high-speed train and visiting St. Petersburg. Only 4 hours away. You will find yourself in a historical fairy tale. In addition, there will soon be a grand celebration "Scarlet Sails" It will be super awesome! also visit the Hermitage and the Peterhof Palace of the Russian Tsars
I enjoyed the content of this video. It’s interesting to see what’s involved in flying from the 🇺🇸 to 🇷🇺 . I would be interested in viewing travel style content about being an expat in Russia and also various destinations in & around Russia
There are hundreds of such videos from foreigners living in Russia for a long time. Right now I see a whole river of Germans moving to Russia to live. But a huge Australian family sold their farm in Australia and moved to Russia. They are in the process of obtaining Russian citizenship, but they have already bought land and are starting to build their own farm. I typed in a search engine requests something like "Americans in Russia" or "foreigners in Russia", "my life in Russia" - something like that. And I really found hundreds of videos about life in Russia from ordinary people.
Good that you got back to civilization, and a great nail stylist. You could have taken other shorter options, for example to Georgia then directly to Moscow. Or fly to Tallinn in Estonia then fast train to the border with Russia, and then bus to St Petersburg and flight or fast train to Moscow, the train it a lot faster than all the airport waiting times, about 2 1/2-3 hours from city center St Petersburg to city center Moscow for a total travel time savings of about 10-13 hours. and hundreds of dollars less. Welcome back, everything is normal and growing here, no recession or depression.
I remember you - we talked about 3 years ago. You are an American living in St. Petersburg and you have some kind of business and you have been visiting Russia since the 90s.
These are all much more difficult and complicated options. She definitely chose the easiest option. The only option that may have been easier is through Dubai. Stopover may have been shorter there.
You can fly through Armenia or Georgia. There is a 6-10 hours gap between flights in Armenia and Georgia. Many private small clean hotels close to airports in Armenia and Georgia where you can sleep. They are 5-7 minutes from airports. I flew through Armenia and stayed in one of these small hotels. They took me from airport at 3am local time, I had a nice large room, small breakfast (breakfast was not great) and they took me back to the airport. All together I paid $36 including room, breakfast, ride from and to airport. This is much cheaper alternative to Turkey.
I am glad that there are people like you. Who are not afraid to get to know the real Russia better . Then, when you return home, this knowledge will help the deal. Even a bad deal is better than a good war)
Flying to Moscow is rough even with a direct flight from JFK. But I have been able to stretch out and sleep on Aeroflot because the jets are half empty.
Rachel~ I'm looking forward to your reports from Moscow! You're one of the few Americans in a position to tell us what's going happening "on the ground" there. Fortunately, we can still catch RT on that other website whose name rhymes with "Tumble". Not saying I believe everything RT reports..... but I prefer to hear what the Russians have to say and decide for myself. Be careful!
Hi Rachel, This is my first time seeing your channel. Please let me know if there are any special requirements now for an American to travel to Russia. My dream is to move to Russia when I can afford it.
Just got back from JFK international. After seeing how beautiful Istanbul's airport is, I have to wonder if I live in a 3rd world country.🤷 Safe travels!
We traveled from Atlanta to Istanbul Turkey in December last year, we had to wait at airport for 6 hours before next flight to St Petersburg Russia We found sleeping pods available on second floor of Istanbul airport It was 5 euros per hour We got 3 pods for 4 hours , because i got my wife and my daughter traveling with me We rested well before our next flight It was our first time using this option
back in time there was a direct flight Moscow-Austin with Singapore Airlines! too bad Singapore decided to join sanctions against Russia, their service was great.
I suggest visiting some russian occupied territories like DPR and spending some time in their torture chambers like “Izolyatsia”. It would great to know deeply a trash-pit called “russian world” for a person like you.
@greshnik2705 or bot moment? However, at least Russia dosnt over flow it's country with millions of immigrants just to manipulate the voting system. 🗳 harder to find a job and wages will stay lower. Don't support Z but I'm considering moving over there just so I don't deal with this crap in my country here in the usa. They're doing this in Canada and most of Europe just to controle the votes 🗳 its no longer a democracy
Welcome! There is no place in our country for the corruption of children and mental perverts. Russia is a very hospitable country for all normal people. And he will gladly accept those who want to live normally.
