Love your videos! You’re right, the wooden thing with two bowls is a traditional African serving platter called ugqoko in Zulu. 🇿🇦 There’ll be different variations used all over Africa.
Can't wait to see the non-recliner-looking recliner chairs! My favorite piece from the haul is the open-weave bowl. It's fun to see the decor cycling through.
I have an identical milk glass vase. I have a large collection that was scattered all over the house. To make it all cohesive, I gathered all of them and placed them in a large dark wood bookcase with glass doors. The collection looks so nice, all white against the dark wood. It now makes sense whereas before it was all a mess, making my house look cluttered.
The green swan is a vintage hand towel holder. My grandmother had one in the 80's and she rolled hand towels and stacked a trio of them in the flat space. They were pretty popular at the time.
Well. Who knew??!! You did! Thank you for informing the rest of us. I had NO idea what it would be used for. I was thinking maybe a bar of soap but that would leak water over the sides of the swan so that made no sense. Thanks again for your information!
Onyx is a dark, cool, serious black with a stone undertone. Alabaster is categorized as an off-white with subtle undertones of greige/beige, which honestly reads more like a creamy and crisp warm white in both interior and exterior lighting. It is just “off-white enough” to not be super bright white and is ideal for a softer white look.
If you flick the bowl on the edge with your fingernail, crystal will "ring" in a very distinctive way, while glass will make a less musical note. Beautiful bowl, btw. Some great finds.
I am so jelly on all the beautiful pieces you find. The green swan is cute. Would look cute with some hand towels or wash cloths rolled up in the bathroom.
We seem to have similar taste in home decor & stuff, love everything you got. That greenery arrangements gorgeous, I'm certainly taking some inspo from that by using greenery & being Scottish the odd Scots Thistle would work nicely in there too. TY🏴💙✨
Hi I’ve noticed you have a plant called spekboom also known as elephantbush or porkbush growing in one of your pots this is an amazing plant and has many wonderful properties and is indigenous to South Africa, love your thrifted finds too👍🏽🇿🇦
Also I like to cleanse my thrift finds (energetically) to release any negativity that might be lingering ;) If you’re interested look into it. I simply use insense and have a little mantra ☮️
Jorge, I LOVE your scores from the Spokane thrift stores!! That crystal bowl is Glorious!! And I love that brown ceramic bowl with the cute small handles The BOMB!!! Congratulations!! Love, love, love to go thrifting with you in your videos! Great fun, my friend! Thank you so much!!❤❤❤❤❤🙃🙃🙃🙃
Wow, you found some amazing items! When my husband turned 50, he asked for a recliner. The regular type recliners don't really fit our decor style, so I was able to find a Windsor chair styled recliner. When it is in the regular position, it doesn't look like a recliner at all! But, my husband loves sitting in it❣(I found it at Lazy Boy furniture and had it covered with a terra cotta colored, textured fabric!)
Love the field trip again. Love the handmade bowl with handles and the alabaster goblets! stunning! I got the same crystal bowl at my local thrift store, and can’t wait to see your styling of it.
Loving all your awesome finds...I would love to see where u storage them...I love changing things around house, but being able to see what I have to choose....love ur IG ...
Loved the haul! My favorite item was the wire basket. I’ve seen something similar at Crate and Barrel for, I’m sure, a heck of a lot more than what you paid. So I think you lucked out. Interested in the recliner. My partner wants one but NO LAZY BOYS! Lol.
Fab items! I just started following you this week. I love your videos. Your voice is so nice to listen to. I'm Irish so I find it difficult to listen to high pitched American voices ..although they have some great videos with great content so I appreciate their work.. apologies for complaining 😁
I always see those swans we had one growing up. I always thought they were soap dishes or something to put trinkets on. Also yippie skippie for a Thursday video!
Lol... My brain gets confused when you go to a thrift store... I legit talk to you as you walk through and say "oh I need that copper bread box"... "Oooh grab me the vase next to that one"... Sidebar: RIP Artemis. Was one of my favourite stores but I rarely crossed the border when I was living in the Koots.
Milk glass was very popular in the 80s. I was a young adult in the early 80s and saw lots of it which is why I am not that crazy about it. It was way too overdone back then.
I'm not sure when the video came out but I saw you on Austin Flipsters I loved your ideas I'm a first time home buyer and I would love to get some tips from you on how to do my home. How can we communicate?
The last thrift find, you didn't know whatf they were. Be very careful! If they are stone they can stain. I am sure I don't need to tell you, but I needed to say it.
I'm new to your channel, and the content you're creating is so inspiring! I hope to see more mid-century modern stuff in the future, as that's my decor style :)
