Brittany--your vlogs are an excellent mix of OOTD, honest makeup/hair hype and meltdowns, home reno, books, travel, chilling, reflections, and now kitten content! You accompany this with cool soundtracks, snapshots of Norwich landscape, and humor. You excel at this. Something that helps me avoid feeling like a failure is to focus on doing my best. If I focus on doing what I do well and doing my best, then I can mitigate the feeling of coming up short in comparison to others. I hope you're able to focus on what you do very well instead of what others do.

Hey, decided to leave a comment here. I know that self-image and self-appreciation is a tough topic and external validation probably will not help the inner monologue, but I was quite anxious last month and since I have a habit of re-watching same things in those times, I was rewatching your vlogs since the beginning. I have to tell you that you've grown so much in those years both as a human and as a creator, although you might not feel that way, but the truth is that you actually did and in is obvious if you look from outside. It's okay to keep doing what you doing without any other agenda, because you are really good at that. And if it helps - I personally appreciate you even more for continuing doing exactly that - because it is that comfort and stability that I turn to you for. And I know it's hard and I know it's challenging to post, but then just do it with the struggle - you know. Just post with doubt and try not to control how the audience will react, let them surprise you in the most positive way. You are not a loser, you are one of my favourite human beings and just being you is enough.

Brittany - I am the biggest fan of your vlogs. Never miss one, I can’t find anyone in social media that has your honesty, casual atitude and an absolute efortless style. No guimics, always exceptionally curated and we can see through that there is a lot thinking and care about everything you put up online. Your taste is impecable, extends not only to fashion, but to your house, the places you travel, the books you read. Really appreciated the honest chat, as someone who is also in an adult loser phase. Comparison is my worst enemy right now - I always thought I had a pretty robust sense of self confidence, but it has taken me by surprise to realise how negatively I perceive myself in my flop era. So this was very comforting! And Suzie is such a cutie

Had to switch to watching this on the TV because your vlogs are so visually enjoyable, the phone doesn't cut it. A fellow black cat guardian of 11 years; they are so gentle and affectionate, perfect little companions. We all feel like losers at times, especially as an anxious introvert I go through phases of feeling lost and loser-ish. That introspection and self-reflection often leads to good discoveries. X

Absolutely loved the bookended editing of Susie in this vlog. Your vlogs are my absolute favourites, the way you talk about travel, clothes, lifestyle, nature even construction! I’ll listen to you talk about any topic. I’m sorry you’re having a hard time weigh your confidence and self doubt. You have a lot of company in those feelings, every second person I speak to in their 30s shares them at points, including myself. I have found the practice of being content really helpful as I know that these feelings would probably plague me no matter what career or job I have so being content alongside of an openness to change and growth has helped me. Bit late in commenting but I just want to reiterate what some people have already said: You're truly the most genuine, refreshing, and interesting content creator out there right now. I find that many "influencers" can appear out of touch or prestige-driven, chasing after the shiny things. But you've always seemed so grounded in yourself, your own sense of style, and your own values and way of life. It's so honest and wonderful to watch.

about the "loser" part: once in a while i run into someone i haven't seen in a while and they ask when what I've been up to, so i tell them about the PhD I'm doing and the city I'm living in, and the vacation i went to - and their reaction is usually somewhere along the lines of "wow, so cool, so impressive, wow, your life is so nice" (ngl, it's what I'm thinking watching your vlogs and your social media). And it's funny because I wake up every day and think about all the areas in my life where i have NOT succeded and all I can focus on is what I LACK and where I'm failing. And I think sometimes it's good to remind ourselves of all the things that we DO have. I literally make a list every once in a while, of the things I'm good at or just things that I'm grateful for. About the thoughts about your future plans - I totally get that, and again, i think the only way out of this spiraling is to focus on the present moment. You're doing something that you're good at, that you like (i assume) and that many people enjoy - so maybe it's good to appreciate that and focus on the present moment :))

Social media really is rough on our self worth! I've felt so similar. I so appreciate the honesty because its so nice to know you're not alone. I want to post things online and have that presence but at the same time I wonder why for. I battle with that feeling often and then get myself down that I don't bother! I need to often remind myself its for the joy of it, the creativity, self expression etc.

Oh Brittany! I wish I could give you a big hug. I’ve been watching your content for years now, through covid, and often find our lives feel like they are running parallel. Your vlogs provide so much comfort, truly. I have absolutely felt like a loser in my thirties - like I missed a class that somehow everyone else took. Not knowing the path I should take and often wishing someone would just pick it for me. That being said… seeing the paths laid out before you and knowing they are not for you, is ultimately the most authentic and true-to-self choice you can make. I felt the same way when I first adopted my dog; it was tough to even leave her for a quick shop, but over time, I've realised she actually quite enjoys the peace and quiet when I'm gone. 😅 I totally understand the "adult loser" feeling. Now that I'm past my mid-thirties, there are times when I wonder what I've been doing/building towards all these years. But these thoughts come and go, and I remind myself that I'm being true to myself and trying my best. Hi Brittany! It is a relief to hear other people with avoidant personalities sometimes struggle, at certain periods with different aspects in their lives. Unfortunately, I do currently struggle with similar thoughts and preoccupations and for the first time started therapy. I have found it very beneficial to get these thoughts out of your head and truly believe it can help with identifying the next steps. At last, what I mostly wanted to say is that watching your videos and seeing the beautiful chapter you have ventured with your partner, the house the new addition to the fam, makes me smile and makes me feel very inspired! Also, after watching your videos over the years , it seems that there are some very good things going on your life, so please dont be so hard on yourself and I am sure only goods things will come your way.

Your focus on Susie will not change. It will grow - and it is a wonderful thing. Nothing is better than a cat. I wish that you wouldn't let her outside. It's too dangerous. But I've noticed that in England, cats are both indoors and outdoors. In the States, they are mostly indoors. It's safer.

I don't understand outdoor cats. I know they like being out and about, but I can't imagine not knowing where my cat had gone or having her come back in bad shape after a fight/accident 😰 I just do my best to make indoors an enriching place for her and hope to build her a nice catio some day, haha.

Yep, it's so much safer. The average lifespan of an outdoor cat is 2 to 3 years, for an indoor cat it 13 to 20. I have an enclosed garden so i take my house cat into the garden but only with constant supervision.

Congratulations on your new friend! Pets are such a great addition to our lives. Here’s my thoughts on comparing yourself to other influencers. There are many influencers I watched that I no longer watch, and many times that’s because they changed what I loved about them and why I watched them. Many times that’s because of the things you said-starting their own business, podcast, buying only high-end designer that I can’t relate to, etc. I still watch you because I love how you describe everything, the way you film, the outfits you wear and the book talks. Don’t change what you are doing or who you are, you are doing an amazing job!

Do not feel a proper person to give advice on your job path frustration right now, as I am going through a rollercoaster of comparison and feeling looser by myself also, but definitely, as someone following you for 4 years or so I see how outstanding is your personality and taste for life so there is no doubt for me that your personal life path is such an interesting journey and will bring you joy. I also struggled with Butter after seeing so much hype about it and normally loving Japanese literature. To be honest, it was a slog to the end for me and kind of wish I'd dnf'd it. This vlog made me feel better after having a day struggling with self doubt, so thank you 🧡

At first I thought it was ok, even though I really struggled to not find the characters extremely stereotypical but when the girls reach the family house in rural Japan it became a total snoozefest to me. I finished it like it was an assignment. I hope Brittany did not bring that boring brick of a book with her.

I resonate so much with what you’re saying towards the end. I’m finishing a BFA, after studying fine art for six years, just now realizing how I’m not really the person to do a freelance artistic career. Also feeling like such a loser, and I at least have the privilege to be able to delete ig to limit the comparing to others. Having invested all that time really doesn’t allow you to ever brainstorm alternative career paths.. it’s nice to know that someone seemingly having it all together feels the same! I too think everyone's doing a better/bigger job than I am, from time to time. Those thoughts will rear their head. What helps is to ignore them as best as you can, and to keep returning to what leaves YOU feeling most fulfilled. (Or figuring out what that is). You'll be joyful and satisfied, and you'll forget what you were feeling sad and insecure about.

Loved Butter , and finished it within about 3 days last week. I don’t know if I completely got it but the journey was fantastic. I read it on Kindle and hadn’t realised it was such a tome, I’d have loved mor It says so much about life in a competitive field for Japanese women, friendship, insecurity.And food… I don’t like butter in cooking but felt compelled to add a chilled piece to my delicious Risotto….it completely ruined it. Love your style,I’m ancient and dress pretty much similar though from different shops. I find social media creators uninteresting in general and find it dreary , you are the exception. Can’t bring myself to like the Tabi shoes but the rest is great.

Hi! If you are looking for ideas on what to share... I loved your video from years ago on how you care for your clothes. I would love another one of those! I think one of many elements that make your outfits looks so sophisticated is how well cared for they are. Those tips are ways we can incorporate a little but of that sophistication at any price point and without buying new things into our wardrobes. For example, do you use starch when you iron?
