↟ It is the final lead up to the midwinter solstice at the cottage and we are busy prepping, baking, finishing our driftwood tree, chopping wood and staying warm in the snowy winter wonderland of of our Olympic peninsula home.
There's lots of lovely snow scenes and cozy baking and making as we put the final touches for the festive season. ❄️🎄⛄

↟↟Unspun Crochet Baubles Pattern
What you'll need:
1 strand Nutiden by Honer Och Eir (or other unspun yarn)
1 strand Holst garn Coast OR Istex Einband
for the magic-ring center (or other lace weight yarn).
1 strand of Nutiden for the rest of the bauble.
4mm crochet hook.
Tapestry needle.
Old bauble OR wool stuffing.
Change colors in each round for more contrast.
Weave in ends as you go.
You can start each round in any stitch.
Make a Magic Loop to begin your crochet.
Round 1
Chain 3
12 Dbl crochet into the magic loop.
Slip stitch into first chain 3 to join.
Total: 12 DBL crochet stitches
Round 2
Chain 3 (count as 1st HDbl crochet)
2 HDbl crochet into each Dbl crochet from the previous round.
24 HDbl crochet stitches
Round 3
Chain 2 (count as 1st SC).
SC into HDbl crochet stitch from round 2.
Front Post Dbl crochet into the first Dbl crochet stitch in round 1.
Repeat around.
24 single crochet
12 Front Post Dbl crochet
Round 5 & 6
Single crochet in each stitch around.
To finish:
Fit the two circles around a 3 inch bauble.
Thread a tapestry needle with yarn.
Join the two crochet circles around the bauble using mattress stitch.
Alternately, you can mattress stitch the two circles and fill with wool batting.
