What a wonderful day of knitting! Love how the socks and Grinch bag match perfectly! I love your dogs so much and I used to love seeing dear old Chloe as well x
I got 2 skeins of the Lump of Coal colorway at Deep Dyed Yarns yesterday! One of them has sparkles. 😀 She is local to me and had a sit and knit at her shop ❤
Lump of coal is awesome!! Oh my goodness what a beautiful sunrise! Beautiful Advents and Happy Mail! Is the memories blanket in DK? Oh my the yarnable beautiful!!
Thanks so much for info on the potholder previously & I downloaded the pattern. It was easy but I really didn’t like the look of the raised seam on the back. I frogged it back, lined up the edges, and whip-stitched through just the outside edges of the stitch loops. The seam closed up nicely and it was flat & smooth. It blended in almost as well as the beginning rows on the other side. I was happier with that finish. Now on to making more of them for quick gifts. 🎄Merry Christmas to you & your family. 🎄 Jo
Hello from Mounds, Illinois! I only have a few days left before I can move to my new home hopefully by Friday. Then comes the unpacking and putting my house in order.
Hi Kay. The new socks your started for a gift are lovely. Wyatt's socks are looking great and you will be finished before you know it. Hope you had a nice evening with friends.
Hi Kay, I love the size of your teal potholder you showed us today. Can you please tell me how many chains you started with? It was a really good size without being too big. I find it hard to work out how big they will end up lol ... I'm using worsted cotton and 5mm hook and have normal tension.
A day with lots of knitting is a great day! That was my day yesterday with 3 pro football games on and will be lather, rinse, repeat day today. I hope to put a dent in one of these projects I have going! I am knitting k2, p2 rib socks for both grandsons. I'm with you, thinking the ribbing on the leg will be a good fit for both. Fingers crossed! Have a great rest of the weekend!
Lovingggg all the Christmas yarn and your blanket project and just how beautifully simple you're making this season 💕 loved the planner scene, so fun!!
Just a suggestion. When you are winding your extras into a ball, rather than weighing the ball. Place the extras on to the scale. Subtract what you want to wind into your ball and wind until you reach the weight. This is what I do when I am splitting a 100g skein into 2 50g cakes for two at a time sock knitting.
Thank you for taking the time to record, edit, and publish daily Vlogmas videos. It’s such a little treat each day! 😊 I have two quick question for you if you have time. 1) What is the purpose/benefit to blocking socks? 2) I’ve only made two pairs of socks and they both “fit” but didn’t feel snug like a pair you’d buy at the store. Are knitting socks loser or should I make them smaller? Thanks! 😊
I don’t feel it’s necessary to block them. The only time I do is if they are a pattern design and then it’s only for pictures of them. You may try going down either needle size or a pattern size if you want your socks to be smaller. But handknit socks do not fit like store bought socks.
I have enjoyed your Vlogmas so much and appreciate all the time and effort that has gone into putting them together for the month of December! Your knitting is inspiring! It makes me want to knit all the socks. 🧦 💚
Hi :) Experienced knitter here who just discovered sock knitting and your account - loving your podcasts! I'm making my hubby a pair of socks (my second pair of socks ever) using your Shallow pattern, loving it! I'm (hopefully) making my niece a pair of socks for Christmas - I like the idea of the 2x2 rib in your vanilla sock pattern because it's forgiving, like you said. Question - how would you block them? Or would you? I'm wondering if blocking them would stretch out the rib.... but do they look weird not blocked? Hope that makes sense!
They do look weird not blocked, but I wouldn’t block them. They will block out with wearing and I wouldn’t want to stretch them out any because the plus to a ribbed sock is the tight/snug fit you get.
@@CrazySockLady aawww I assumed Gracie was a little old lady …..she’s so cute and Dexter is so full of beans he had to be a youngster! I love the way they snuggle up 🐾
