I’m a month in as a delivery driver and love it also. This was very refreshing to watch because most people complain about the job. Thank you for such a positive outlook 🙏🏾
Driver's that complain have valid criticism though these drivers get the most shit routes that include nothing but apartments and businesses with 350+ packages on a daily so there is valid criticism they have not just "complain"
I’m going to watch this whenever I need some motivation because girl you are so positive and like it’s work. It’s money. It’s provision. You gotta stay grateful. Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much for this video I have seen nothing but negative reviews about being a amazon delivery driver my interview is tomorrow to drive in Michigan. I work in a office environment now sitting at a cubicle all day and I’m just over board out my mind cramped with others around me I don’t mind moving around and delivering. I was beginning to get discouraged until I came across your video. I’m nervous but excited to start something new. Thank you for sharing 😊
You don't know how much your videos have helped and motivated me. I'm a 32 year old married woman who's spent the last 6 years working in the medical field. I got completely burnt out and made a switch to delivering for Amazon. I can't lie, I've been feeling embarrassed to explain to my family what my new job is. I didn't feel like it is as impressive as what I did before. I still wonder if this will lead to anything long term. What will I do when I'm in my 40's and 50's? But your videos have helped motivate me and make me feel more comfortable with this new path I'm taking as well as balancing work and home life. Thanks for that!
Wow meme I don’t even have the words to express myself as to how I feel first of all I am so happy that my video has motivated you to feel more comfortable I to was in the health care field and after covid happen I had to take a leap of faith “faith over fear and change my career I love the work to life balance that amazon gives me I am able to be home with my family and work on other things outside of my job , ask yourself where do you want to go from here after being a driver theres many other opportunities in the warehouse and also with your branch I have now been promoted to team leader- dispatch so I know work in the office and lead my team! That’s something I’ll be talking about soon in a later video but I wish you all the best and live for the now if your taking the necessary steps day by day in your career to get you to a next level you will get there! Have a great weekend
Wow just started at AMzn. I 48. My story is almost the exact same as the both of you guys. Thanks for the video. I left my career of 24 yrs during Covid. (Forced out due to that thing) Most of family dont know and im embarrassed too. Good news, lost 10 lbs 2 weeks and my metabolism is on 110%- if i had all houses every day , i would love love this job
Better of working for USPS. Pension, benefits, overtime pay! Working with a DSP as a delivery associate is a dead end job. Use it as practice and experience for better companies like DHL, UPS and USPS.
I will start as a DSP driver in a week leaving a production line job in factory. Your videos gave me confidence since i am a little in doubt if Im going to like driving. But thanks to youtubers like you people can see what is like. Thank you and God Bless you!
These kinds of videos are very interesting and valuable. I feel that way too often, the news media glorifies Amazon because their salaries for white-collar/software workers are insanely high but they neglect the folks in the warehouse as well as the drivers who break their backs making sure that things run smoothly. The reality is that not everyone is a corporate/tech worker and that blue-collar workers matter too. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I love your attitude about life. I just started for a job as a contractor delivering for Amazon. I think I am on week # 3 and I am feeling it. Now granted, I am 52 years old and have worked in an office for the last 8 years now so being physical will help me in the long run. Problem is, it is a long run. Yesterday, I had 190 stops and needed a rescue so I only did around 160. I feel bad about that but I push forward anyways. One thing I have noticed is most DA's are in the late 20's and early 30' so I imagine it is easier for them to run up to the houses. I can not run so I pace myself. The other thing I noticed is every single DA is always very happy. In a Twilight Zone sort of way. It is not creepy but noticeable. Do they know something about this job that I don't? Anyways, thanks for the video. Keep up your great attitude!
Thank you so much it is physically demanding but you will definitely get use to it after a while your body starts adapting to the routine I wish you so much success in this mew career change
it’s all in your mind you allow yourself to feel old then that’s what you get and will reflect on how you do things. my uncle was 65 yrs old competing with people in their 20s on a 100 meter sprints and smokes them. he wasn’t athletic or works out but only had a mindset of i’m not letting anyone beat me. as far as the job goes find a pace that’s fast but won’t make you go home sore and the routine that you find efficient for you. you have these two on par and over time once you know the areas and have more experience it’s a cake walk. body will be sore the first weeks or months but that’s just a reaction to what it’s not used to be doing and after it recovers from it it’s normal. i’ve been delivering since 2014 to tell you the truth the routes now are really easy compared to when i started. back then when someone gets a route with less than 200 stops it was a light day going home about 3-4pm kind a day. training routes were 100-140 stops for the new drivers. now we get 130 stops and everyone starts crying. a lot of drivers think 130 is a lot because they are new there is only a handful of drivers that went through the same time period when i started and they are the once that won’t complain or cry about stops less than 200. most of the new drivers came in when amazon transition to DSP 2.0 which was about almost 2 yrs ago. when that happened amazon lowered volume of packages at least at our warehouse to get the new drivers trained but what this did was it gave them the mindset that these volume was the norm. when everything went up and running smooth drivers kind have a hang of it then amazon started easing the volume back to normal and the new drivers started feeling the difference because they used to the small routes that were just training routes.
@@russ1376 I have to say Russ, you are not wrong. I used to live by that exact mindset and to be totally honest with you, and myself, I forgot that line of thinking. Thanks for the comment. Lets see how things progress from here. Thank you, I needed that!
Hi just wanted to say thank you! I’m currently waiting to start my first day of training. I’m a bit nervous. I’m making the switch from 13+ years working fast food to delivery driver… I honestly came out here on RU-vid looking for approval and honestly I’m so thankful for coming across your video it was just the perfect video to end the day and made me more secure and comfortable for finally deciding to give the driver in me a chance for change… I honestly love the way you see this job and I’m honestly looking forward for my first day which should be coming up pretty soon… thank you! Thank you!!!
I love it you are strong minded and it shows not many people last at this job cause they are lazy I’m a few weeks in I been off nursing routes and been getting 300 packages the last week now and people complain all you gotta do is take it one tote at a time
Thank you for sharing your videos. And having such a positive attitude. And thank you for your kind words to everyone regardless of who does what type job for a living never to be ashamed. Thank you for that. Blessings to you.
Hey. Omg. You’re so inspiring. I’m a DSP also. Going on 5 months. I Love My Job It didn’t start off easy. I cried, yelled, hit mad, got stuck …. Etc. I’m a pro now(lol) . I want to teach others how to load their van and deliver safe , yet fast. My company does not allow us to record and do social media stuff. Anyway, new subscriber here. I’m about to binge all of your videos. Love your personality. I’m in SC. Where are you, if you don’t mind my asking ?
Thank you so much for this positive video been hearing so many negative things about this job but I’m in the process now waiting on my background check to come back I’m excited but a little nervous 😬 I’m a introvert I like to work alone and I like to stay active
Do you think you could make a video going more in-depth with the training process as well as the FICO information? I start training soon and I am nervous, but also excited because I love working by myself
i see tons of ppl cry about this job why idk there is some of us who just do the job and be done with the day us drivers make every ones day keep up the good work we just had a driver appreciation where im at in ohio
Enjoyed the video. I just completed my training and I start my first full day Tuesday. I use to be a delivery driver before so I understand the hustle, but I've had a 5 year gap between the physical aspects of doing the job. I think the biggest thing I'm nervous about is being able to fully understand and get my ability to navigate the Rabbit properly. But I know my body is gonna feel that gap in the physical aspects of the job being that it's been a while for me constantly jumping in and out the vehicles with packages.
Get a cdl B and go to UPS if they want you to get a class A they will train you for free. Some UPS drivers make up to $40hr so make them work whenever you see one
Gotta always have a positive attitude when it comes to making money 💯. People who complain shouldn't be kicking sand on a beach ⛱️ with me; but rather, rocks, alone 😂. Keep grinding.
I had the interview. About 20 minutes later they sent me and offer and a few things to sign. I'm not sure if that's the start of the backround check or that comes in a later email. I heard it takes 4/5 days and if it clears they want you to come in in two days to do orientation
@@altagraciajordan363 Thank you so much! And really? Oh wow, That’s wonderful to hear! That’s really good!😃🥰🥰 I like how you organized by the way!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wish I could stack mine that way. But I'll have 20+ totes and so much overflow.. Sometimes I can't open my side door. Have to stack my totes 3 high to have room.
Worst job to deliver for overwork you & the pay doesn’t add up for the stress 180 stops over 300 packages @21.25 randomly take away bonuses sometimes come in & there’s to many workers & not enough routes they’ll send you home (location NJ) Also experiences will differ since it’s multiple DSP’s delivering for Amazon
Not complaing just keeping it real. It's more to it. I've had over 190 stops, 20 totes not counting overflow, in rain and triple digit heat. Plus seems like the app works against you
awesome video that’s good you enjoy it and i hope your DSP pays you well. i’ve been on the job since 2014 and still very much enjoy it. getting paid to work out and luckily i have a great DSP that pays very well and the best thing is i get paid for 10hrs even if i’m done early.
Hi there I hear you n feel you I'm trying bt it seems like it nt enuff..i will say i feel certain way a bit of we're i wrk at yhe moment fast food as a cashier im a ppls person it's jus of whme work with...
Nice video. Informative. I have some questions if you don't mind. I'm a former USPS Carrier but had to let-go the job because of short hours for the ARC position, and long distance to work. Anyway, I notice Amazon' delivery system basically mirrors USPS delivery system. But we load our truck quite differently. We don't use totes for boxes. We load the boxes in, loose, as is. And mark numbers on them for a numerical order that lines up with the Stops on the Scanner. So, if a parcel/package is marked #1, that would also be Stop #1. For package; we put them in plastic trays or those USPS plastic containers. For the boxes, we use the LIFO technique to load the boxes in the truck/van where the last numbers goes in first, and the first numbers goes in last: LIFO (Last In, First Out). I notice in your video, you pulled the boxes/packages out of the totes and stuffed them on the shelves. So, my question....how you know which one is first? I saw you scan your tote bag but you didn't scan the barcode on the package/parcels. With us, we pre-scan the barcode on every parcel/package at the station, no matter how many, so that all are in the system before we leave the station. Then switch to delivery on the Scanner that then shows Stop 1 (and so on), and the GSP map for driving direction. So we have it all in order before we leave the station and no need to stop again and organize per totes like Amazon is doing. But back to my question....how do you know which package/parcel you looking for if all you scanned was the tote label?? Does it give a description of what the package is and you kinda look for it in the tote bag??
When you scan the totes all packages corresponding to that tote are already pre recorder for you via the system! , if you scan the tote it will tell you how many packages are in their and the stops
Beautiful words ❤ I am transitioning from working 17 years in mental health to becoming a driver and I definitely don’t feel ashamed of it. Keep up the hard work and thank you for this content!! ❤❤
I love this video! I’ll be starting soon and can’t wait. I’m leaving corporate America to do this. I’m tired of desks and dual screen monitors. How long have you been driving?
I was thinking about trying out this job, can you tell me how much time you get off when you get hired? If you planned taking a week off for 3 vacation visits in a year, is that possible?
I am from India 🇮🇳 planning to come next year hopefully this job really fascinated me im excited to do it wish me good luck! What about the Sallary monthly or per hour they provide kindly please guide me Regards
Im a CNA at the moment and i work 16 hr shifts on weekends only. Im just burnt out with ppl and sickness and want to try something else. Kinda want to try this but I'm nervous about being able to keep up.
@@altagraciajordan363 thank u !!! Im currently at work now feeling so inadequate. Im an extreme introvert and i get so wiped out emotionally as opposed to physically. Im applying tonight but will still keep a prn in case indont like it. Thank u so much.
How far is your drive from home to your Amazon warehouse? That’s my only holdup for becoming an delivery driver. It’s an hour & 15 minutes drive for me
