While vMix’s GT-Title Designer allows you to integrate and animate text, shapes, and images, it does not yet provide a way to add video-based motion graphic elements into your overlay designs. While the overlays you can build are completely professional, they lack the ‘POP’ that looping lower 3rds and overlays can bring to your productions.
On today’s show, we’ll show you how to combine GT-Titles with multiple video elements using layers and masks to create dynamic and compelling on-screen images.

Hi John , thanks for everything you do to make us broadcasters lives easier ! A question I do have , do you know if there is a way to export data out of vmix from a title - I.e reverse source per se . I’d like to be able to capture a match score as an example which is manage in a vmix title and save/export out of vmix into excel or google sheets

Hi @ProVideoGuyYT Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch. We recently did a show covering how to create a file with RU-vid chapter markers (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DS5KCWIm5iU.html). For that we pulled data from a GT Tile (which was populated via an external data source) and wrote it out in the specific RU-vid Chapter Marker format to a text file. While not an exact match to what you are asking, the basic concept should apply to extracting the score data from your title, and then writing the file out in a CSV - a format that can easily be imported into a spreadsheet. I know there are also ways to use the Google API to write to a Sheet file directly , but I would need to do a bit of research before I could offer more details on that approach. Hope is is helpful. Best, -john

Tried to use this preset to learn some things and had to obviously set my own Excel file location and when I did all the inputs/sources disappeared from vmix and I had to reload.. It will not allow any change to the data source file location. On second look everything disappears soon as I right click on any of the inputs

Hi Gitago - You should be able to open an input and change the source associated with it. As long as the inputs are in the same locations, the core elements of the logic here should be working. Let me know if you're seeing something different. Best, John

What are the specs of your PC, and what's your VMIX subscription?

Hi Inspire Media, What I covered here should easily run on a fairly standard 'gaming system' computer (nVidia RTX 20-series GPU, 6-Core CPU, 16GB Mem) and vMix HD. The main system we have in the studio is a 32-Core AMD Threadripper with RTX A4000 GPU and 64GB Mem. We use vMix 4K for these demos. We are typically running multiple simultaneous applications on this one system when we do demos (vMix, LiveToAir, Central Control, Visual Studio, NodeJS) which - collectively - require the horsepower of a system like this. We would recommend running vMix and LiveToAir on distinct systems in 'real-world' production environments, with automation running on a 3rd system. If you have any other questions just let me know. Thanks for watching the show!
