We try to create a more affordable stream this month.
We were having discussion in the office about the Snapdragon X chips and ARM but at the same time, we were talking about Intel Ultra. At some point they merged into the same thing....which is very much not the case! So we said the Intel Ultra chips were ARM, but they aren't. Apologies for any confusion. We wouldn't recommend the Intel Ultra laptops as they're too underpowered for vMix. We also wouldn't recommend the Snapdragon X laptops until we have the opportunity to test them out and see whether vMix would be suitable for them.

We made a mistake in this video! When talking about the Intel Ultra CPUs, we said they were ARM chips...they ARE NOT. We were discussing the new Snapdragon X ARM laptops in the office and Heath got his wires crossed with the Intel Ultras. We don't recommend using the Intel Ultra laptops as they're underpowered for vMix. We'll be trying out the Snapdragon X laptops when we get a chance and see whether they will be feasible for the vMix platform.

When I first started using vMix I was experimenting with how low I could go. I had a $100 8" windows tablet I bought from Micro Center, the free version of vmix, and a Logitech C920 webcam. Sure, it was running in SD, but it was solid.

19:25 The Intel Ultra CPUs are NOT ARM. They are still X86. Maybe you confused with Arc(built in graphics)?

Thanks for pointing this out! You are correct, we were having a conversation about the new Snapdragon X ARM laptops and got our wires crossed! We'll pin a note to the video.

I use Vmix From Last 4 -5 yrs but since i m from india their are lots of network issues since i have to move multiple places in india for my live programs which might be in rural .? how to decrease my cpu usage while performing live since due to which my systems heat up?

Yeah, we were talking about 2 things in the office at the same time. The Snapdragon X and the Intel Ultras and we got them mixed up. Apologies.

Iriun Camera is a good alternative to Larix Broadcaster. It requires a PC server software to be installed, it comes into vMix like a USB Camera/Capture Card but the latency is low and can bring in up to 4 cameras, and last I checked it works fine in vMix.

I tested some older MacBook pros with bootcamp and got some good results. the thunderbolt works which is why I tested in the first place, don't have a PC laptop with thunderbolt ports.
