I wish she played all three versions. acapella so we could actually compare the difference in her voice track in al situations. trying to analyze the differences through drums and guitar in the mix is not possible. they all sounded great!

It was very difficult to tell with the background music playing would have been much better with a longer acapella.

Thanks for this, but the comparisons weren't really long enough with each system, with and without music, inside and out. I really wanted to hear if the head booth sounded boxy with no music.

I wish they would do the comparison segments in a normal sized room and not a literal warehouse. Ofc it's gonna sound infinitley better in the booth compared to that.

seems your mix was different for the first few cuts. 2:47 jump from Open to Booth is a big jump, but later it all sounds the same when mixed. Same with 2:55 from open to head booth, but feels like a little mixing was done. I have never seen a head booth sound more clear and open than a full booth. The further the rigid sound dampening material gets from the mic, the more the sound sounds airy, and clean. Mics tend to pick up the vibration in the material at less than a meter, and comes off as deep undertones.

I am a VO Artist and have been looking for an affordable acoustically treated environment to record in. Someone recommended your products in the comments section of a review of the ISOVOX...which is a ridiculous $1000 USD. It seems you have great products that are available at a fraction of the cost of other companies.

I can buy you're vocal booth but not your mastering engineer so why do I only hear prosest vocals? No dry vocals? 😕

Can this help me inside my VocalBoothToGo? I have it mostly treated as best I can within my budget, but I get LOUD at times and I don't want to anger ny neighbors. Thinking of getting the head box for now. You recommend?

The recording without any sound absorption sounded really nice as well, the room had a really good natural reverb and of course the singer had a really nice live voice. You might have wanted to record somewhere where the ambience was more bad :)

Sadly, I think this is by design. The Vocal Booth uses Polyurethane Panels, about 2-3 cm thick. The Head booth uses 4 cm PET Polyester Panels. Both materials only absorb to the low-mids at best. For example: 5 cm thick fleece from t.akustik is marketed to work from 315hz onward. People who want to buy something like this usually don't record in a big hall, but in their small bedrooms/home studios. The problem is not only long reverberation times that contaminate the recording, but the sound of the room itself. The smaller distances between the walls increase the likelihood of room modes that overemphasize the lower mids, or possibly even cancel certain frequencies. If you put a vocal booth around you as a "solution", you end up only solving the reverberation time. The bad room tone will get amplified for two reasons: The material is neither dense nor thick enough to handle the problematic frequencies, and the panels are much too close to you. The result is boxy recordings that sound nasal and muffled, as if you were talking into a pillow. Since these absorbers work well mainly in the highs, these are over damped, while the overemphasized bass response of the room still makes it into the recording. There are other problems due to the positioning in the room, since the sound passes through the absorber twice due to the distance from the wall. Ideally, the distance is the same as the thickness of the absorber material, improving efficiency. If you place them freely in the room, however, you might get weird filtering effects in your recording. Depending on the distance from the wall and the thickness of the panel, it can range from a notch filter to nasty comb filtering. All of these acoustic effects will work in tandem, resulting in a dry, but sonically unbalanced recording that no EQ, Compressor or other tool will get out well. tl:dr; If you want your vocals to sound dry, then this product is suitable. If you have bad tone in your room, this will most likely not solve your issues.

@@DerSchaddan this info is great but might be a bit much for those of us who are less advanced. If we want dry vocals for the sake of being able to add our own effects to the vocals in a musical composition would the solutions in this video be good options? Thank you in advance😊
@DerSchaddan
@DerSchaddan Год назад
@@Taevin2Ajhia The vocals will be dry-ish, but they'll also just sound off. If you can compromise on that - sure go ahead. If not, I'd recommend spending some money in proper treatment - but that's more involved and requires some funds :)

I am using the Vocal Head Booth, however the Bass buildup makes it pretty hard to mix the vocals. Any ideas on what to do regarding Mic placement?

Super interesting product. However when I'm looking at the Thomann reviews, there seems to be a few negative reviews regarding the build quality. Most of the them are from 2019 though. Have you guys made any improvements over time regarding the build quality? And do you have any measures of how much more sound isolation the Vocal booth bundle gives compared to the vocal booth?

Thank you for your comment! Customer reviews are the most important feedback for us! Our products are constantly optimized to get the best out of them. We have taken measurements for an upcoming video. The Vocal Booth delivers -5db absorption and the Vocal Booth Bundle -12db.

@@t.akustik Thanks for the reply. I think I'll buy one of these in the near future. I was thinking about covering my booth with additional blankets when I get it. Can you tell me how much weight the frame can carry/withstand?

@@peterfj6218 i just ordered and I think to mix the vocal head booth with the vocal booth bundle. Maybe I put some acoustic foam around the vocal head booth and inside the vocal booth bundle in order to have 30-35 dB
