If I’m not mistaken, mariachi is traditionally sung without mics at like parties and stuff so that’s why he has incredible projection. Not only do they have to be louder than the instruments but also like party noises and stuff. I could be wrong but at least in my family we’ve never given the mariachi a mic xD they just kinda loud af on their own xD

I saw Vicente Fernandez in concert when he was 70, you talk about projecting, he had the mic down and you could clearly hear him through out all of MSG. He's just one of a kind incredible.

His expressions are like that because the song is about being a badass. He is the king. The song is literally about being the king of his life and he’ll be missed when he is gone.

His comportment has a lot to do with the lyrics and the meaning of the song. He starts off strong because he is "The King" or "El Rey." Basically, he is the man of his own kingdom or destiny. This is one of those songs that everybody in México knows by memory. José Alfredo Jimenez, the author, wrote so many songs like that. Vicente Fernandez was here already an icon. Look for "La bikina" of Luis Miguel.

Vicente Fernandez voice is like none other.i have had a chance to see him perform live.this man could sing and carry his voice very well.also sings while being on horse back during the concert.when he sang he put the microphone down and his voice travelled across the arena loud and clear.

And guess what he still sings up to this day and that voice is still powerful as everrrrr

I remember having their reaction in 1978 as a child listening to Vicente Fernandez records. He definitely has a powerful voice. Although his son and grandson can sing well. They have yet to come off as powerful. His song, "El Rey" showcases his voice to the max.

Vicente Fernández retired at the age of 76 But once in a while he puts out a song or album he has a great quote why he kept sing till 76 "Mientras sigues aplaudiendo yo seguiré cantando" which translates to "While you applaud I'll keep singing"

I had the privilege to see Chente in concert about 10 years ago. He passed away at age 81 last year (may he RIP). And he literally sang for 3 hours, with no breaks!!!, all while drinking tequila the entire time. He was around 71 yrs old during that concert. It was amazing.
