BTS stands for "bangtan soneyondan", which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in english. So, throughout their music videos and live performances you'll find them doing that gun symbol a lot.. It's also one of the reasons why our fanbase is called ARMY.

Let Payton know camera work for kpop in Korea is completely different than US. Kpop is all the the IDOLS...singing, dancing, performances..its a whole package. The camera operators KNOW each of these group members names and the nuances of the performances. They are performed the same every time and they have had multiple opportunities to shoot this perfomance. When groups put out music they attend weekly music shows and compete against other groups so this performance has been shot many times. And the camera work is coordinated and rehearsed. The focus in general is different. In the US, the performance shots are pretty generic and they pan to the audience whereas in Korea the camera shots are treated AS part of the performance. You will never see them pan to the audience up close, just a few wide shots, even though there are many famous faces in the audience. The focus is the performer. They will focus on close ups of particular members during different parts and use a variety of cameras...and yes, you will see camera men on stage or hanging cameras or side cameras on the stage to be sure they get the perfect performance shots for airing on tv if you are watching fan cams. It's actually really superior. These camera men work super hard..you will see them running to keep up and get the shots. It's just a different style of shooting. I've watched so much Korean camera work that now when I see them perform in the US I hate it. I dont want to see people in the audience screaming or famous people, I want to see the performance. And when they do shoot the performance they miss shots or just pan wide. It's so frustrating. I prefer Korean award shows to US shows. I just never knew the difference before!

RM - sky blue Jin - pink Suga - black JHope - red Jimin - gold V - green Jungkook - purple they gave halsey her own when she did boy with luv with them, she included a clip of them givig her the mic on her 5th episode of rode to manic... side note, Rap Line (RM, JHope & Suga) can sing and the Vocal Line (Jin, Jimin, V & Jungkook) can rap as well, you can check the live performance on the 5th muster (muster is a fan meeting with a special performance) for Ddaeng...

RM for his rap at the start him in the room was pre recorded but he was rapping to it live and then when he switched outfits it was actually him on the stage live because with it on the screen at the start it gave him time to be ready in the outfit for them all together but he was actually rapping live the whole time

Payton was right, the first part where RM rapped was pre-recorded. But he actually did rap on stage.

Its ok to watch bts' stage multiple times because they always have so many details that can be missed from the first viewing.

FYI: Jungkook is the main vocalist and the one who used to rap back in their early days. Jimin is the lead vocalist. In Kpop main vocals and lead vocals are two different positions but these two are usually the ones who get the lines most. The main vocalist is higher than the lead and the one who is usually assigned to the most experienced singer in the group. He's also the one who sings the chorus most of the time and does the adlibs together with the lead vocalist. As for the dance line, Jhope and Jimin are the main dancers while Jungkook and V are the lead dancers. Same concept, the main dancer is higher than the lead dancer. Needless to say they are all great vocalists and dancers in their own way regardless of their positions.

The whole performance is a recap of BTS’s old to new music. They’re returning to a storyline that they started in 2014 in their next album, which fans believe will he called Map of the Soul: Shadow, thus the shadows in the prerecorded clips. Another example is how they go from their old song Boy in Luv to their newest song Boy with Luv. Then performance music is all older songs in order from oldest to newest but they’re remixes, and they have a dance break using their song N.O. in the middle of their final Dionysus performance, the last song. The hand thing is a way they used to end a few old songs( people correct me if I'm wrong ) but the hand supposed to be shown was Jungkook's because he changed his hand to I love you in sign language( 🤟) but they instead showed someone else because Jungkook got tattoos on his hand and tattoos are associated with bad things in Korea. ( I apologize for my grammar.) Spanish is my first language. EDIT: I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THIS IS MENT FOR BWL SORRY!!!

The way Payton explains all this stuff related to camera work and all the tricks with it... W o w. Love it. Shows his professionalism and, for me personally, gives +100 to his attractiveness. At some point I went to another topic haha But for real Payton is SO attractive. Looking forward for other parts~

They are all lead singers but jungkook is the main vocalist because he has the most stable voice whilst singing and his voice is so angelic and heavenly you should react to some of his covers of English songs he likes they really show how beautiful his voice is 💜

The shadow is about duality. How the struggle to be themselves and maintain that love with the other life of love for fans.the lines get blurred. Creates insecurity within themselves. That's why they have been focusing on loving and knowing who they are to maintain that love within. Fire with Namjoon was about burning the stage with his rap.

That symbol is a gun / pistol lol. It's cuz BTS stands for Bulletproof Boyscouts! (Bulletproof cuz they wanted to be a group that wards of prejudices that the youth faces. Hence a lot of their songs lyrics touch on social concepts) It's also why us fans are called ARMY! To take it it even further for instance their fanmeetings are called Musters (means assembly of troops). And their lightsticks that fans wave at their concerts are called Army Bombs and are literally shaped like bombs! Lol sooo it's a whole concept thing tied into their name! Hahaha

FYI, Rm's Persona Performance, Mikrocosmos, and JK's Water Dance were pre-recorded. The audience saw them on the big screens but at home it all looks like a live performance. RM did come out on stage and performed some of Persona and JK did his dance in the dark on stage without the water.

Each of them have personalized Mics with In-Ears, pairs of same color Mic and In-Ear. Also, although Jimin is a lead vocalist, JK is the Main Vocalist

BTS have their mics customised to the colour they want like how you noticed RMs blue one and jungkook has his purple, Vs green, Jins pink

They were supposed to focus on jk hand but because he has tattoos they didn't his hand was supposed to say I love in sing language sirs, so they focused on someone else hand instead 🙃💜 korea still has a rule about tattoos being on camera 🙃💜💜

They always give us a lot of clues about their next album in MMA and MAMA. We’ve all thought for a while now that the next album will be Shadow, and it’s practically confirmed with those shadows walking behind them in the intro. Each shadow had glitches in of their character’s from the BU (the storyline their MVs follow). Like Yoongi’s had fire, and you could hear the spray paint with Taehyung’s. The glitches are a throwback to their 2017 performances too and the whole time when they glitches all their MVs, which culminated with Euphoria’s release where at the beginning you can see glitches in the video where they change scenes from the past. It’s all from the storyline.

You're right, Payton. RM's Intro: Persona was prerecorded. BTS ' performance was around 40 minutes long and they had multiple costume changes which couldn't be done without a few prerecorded footage. The prerecorded footage is displayed on huuuuuuuge screens for the audience and is also live broadcast to the viewers at the same time. The interesting thing is that when the footage was rolling on screen, RM was actually on stage performing live for the audience present(without the fancy set) and this was made known because of the videos shared by few ARMYs who attended the award show. Persona, V's solo intro, Jungkook's solo intro were also prerecorded and all three performed live when the footage was playing on big screens (though JK was mostly hidden in the shadows when he did). Mikrocosmos was also prerecorded and I guess Payton was able to easily figure that out.

Please when you can react to jungkook on king of the masked singer singing if you and crystal snow but the version with Jins triple high note it is a little hard to hear because it’s a background vocal but you can hear it if you listen closely and he is actually doing it live, the one from their fan meeting in Japan please also do a reaction to BTS mikrokosmos

BTS gives ARMY clues to when they will be releasing their new album and what it will be called. Shadows walking around while they are sleeping could be a clue. The album could be called Shadow. EGO is written on the board. Could be called ego. There are also dates written on the blackboard. Could be release dates? Their hands at the end of the song is there hand symbol. It means Bulletproof Boyscouts, which is what BTS means in Korean.

What you're watching is a mix of live and prerecorded performances. This is what everyone streaming the show saw. Ex: recording/streamer view- Rm performed in front of the grafitti set. Audience view- They played the recording on the big screens and he performed alongside it just without the grafitti set. Ex: In the dionysus intro, the recording/streamer view had horses. Audience view- they did the same intro w/o the horses and the recording with the horses played on the big screens. You can compare this video with the fancams to figure out what's what.

The first part of RM's performace/rapping was actually a pre recording, but when he opened that door wearing his suit and it glitched after that was the live with the red background. And all of BTS's performace is/VCR has meanings, it reference to something and follows a storyline. There are videos out there about theories.

Jungkook is main vocal and he is the one who can rap and jimin is lead vocal but Jungkook rap and jimin doesn't

The lighter was a reference from their trilogy from The most beautiful moment in life where suga burns the hotel. Also, the other performances were pre-recorded like jungkook's solo. Another thing, that last clip where they zoomed into v's hand is actually the last thing that they do in the choreo from boy with luv (the prequel for boy in luv) and the last part of the boy in luv choreography is where they start in boy with luv.

They have personalized mics with their chosen colors...some of them have matching in-ears. Just a few notes. The Boy in love song is one of their old song from their early album. Also among the 4 vocalist of BTS their main vocalist (JungKook) is also their sub rapper, specially when BTS just started but JungKook seldom rap nowadays. If you want to hear the vocal line rap watch their 5th muster “Magic Shop” when they performed Ddaeng where the vocal line did the part of the rap line.

The pre recorded performances in this whole MMA performance were RM's Persona intro, mikrokosmos, junkook's solo and some parts of dionysus' intro( the parts with the horses and stuff). They show the pre recorded parts on the LED screens during the live awards show and also when they are broadcasting it. But BTS was performing these pre recorded parts live too. You'll understand better if you see fancams of the whole performance :)

God, i just love it when people fully appreciate everything about a bts performance.. me being uneducated in camera work or vocal work, i’m just appreciating them as an outsider but you guys geeking out about vocals and dance and camera work.. idk, it makes me so satisfied.

Afaik half of Persona, Mikrokosmos, most of the solos and the horses were prerecorded. But for the solos, while it was playing on screen, some of the boys still danced to it in the dark.

I really love these guys' reactions because BTS' performance isn't solely appreciated but the people behind the stage/camera are recognized as well.

fun fact: they won All 4 Daesangs At Melon Music Awards 2019 in just ONE night, Total Of 8 Awards. and those 4 daesangs were the 4 main awards so like - they DEFINITELY made history that night .

I love how they stop and really analyze what is going on as well as a bit of how does an artist or a camera gets there to that specific effect.

BTS includes a lot of symbolism about light. One of their platforms is anti-bullying, and they work with UNICEF to raise awareness and create programs for youth. They even spoke to the United Nations about it! They talk often about the need for change in the way society views beauty standards. One of the things that has been most impactful to Army is that BTS always talks about getting through their own hardships and that better times will come. They talk about finding/being a light in the darkness. So, you'll often see symbols relating to light in their performances.

On 17:40, that sign is part of the choreo. The camera was supposed to zoom on jungkook's hand, who had a different sign(🤘) but jungkook has hand tattoos and korean broadcasts don't show tattoos on tv because tattoos are considered kind of taboo in korean public. So instead, they zoomed on another member's hand. The sign means "i love you" in sign language i think.

The video in the beginning is like an Easter egg kind of and a little hint to what the next album content and name might be. The last one is called Map of The Soul: Persona. The next part is theorized to be Map of The Soul: Shadow. The concept of this mini album series is said to be inspired by a book by Jung that speaks of archetypes and realllyyy deep stuff 🤣🤣 it's a world of its own, really. But it's very interesting since the boys are talking about it and using it for not only the album concept, but kind of for themselves and us too in a way. RM's part is is pre-recorded, yes. Payton is right. He was rapping live though.

"That sighn" was the ending of the choreo from "boy in love" (the song they were performing) but that sighn also was the beginning of the choreo of "boy with love" (because we were going "back in time") the songs were connected so also the choreo it self is connected to each other. So it continues

17:42 The symbol they did at the end is kind of like.. A gun I guess. Their name means Bulletproof boyscouts in English. It holds a strong meaning to them and us because they wanted, from the start to be there for the youth and be open and transparent and honest about issues the youth face. They want to be the bulletproof "defense" for their fans.

The finger gesture in the end is basically supposed to change into another gesture where from this one, it goes to only the thumb, the index finger and the pinky being lifted and in sign language, it actually means 'I love you'. For the longest of times, it was Jungkook's signature move whenever Boy In Luv ended and transitioned to Boy With Luv's beginning and also when Boy With Luv ended. However, because Jungkook recently got some tattoos on his hand and because tattoos on Korean broadcasts are often frowned upon, they choose different members to do the sign now.

For clarification as it can be very confusing. The positions from top to bottom of the food chain are always: Main Lead Sub As in Mains get the most parts USUALLY/are considered the best in that category (according to the company) and subs get the least, Leads are either or. Their positions are as follows: RM: Main Rapper Jin: Sub Vocalist Suga: Lead Rapper JHope: Main Dancer, Lead Rapper, Sub Vocalist Jimin: Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist V: Sub Vocalist, Sub Dancer Jungkook: Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper So the main of the Vocal line is JK Main of Rap is RM And mains of Dance are Jhope and Jimin although Jhope leads the dance line.
