Angelina doesn’t sing songs. She sings emotions that go directly to our souls creating beauty and joy. This is Angelina’s world. We just live in it (thank goodness)!
Great Angelina Jordan (born Angelina Jordan Astar on 10 January 2006) is a Norwegian child singer, of Iranian ancestry, whose audition for the 2014 season of Norway's Got Talent at the age of seven, singing "Gloomy Sunday" in the style of Billie Holiday, became a viral video online, and led to worldwide press coverage.[1][2] She went on to win the competition (at eight) with her performance of George Gershwin's "Summertime". Since then she has worked to raise millions of dollars on behalf of environmental causes and children's charities around the world. She always performs barefoot, after befriending a young shoeless girl while traveling when she was six years old. Jordan wrote a book about the experience and became the youngest published author in Norway.
Quite wonderful and educational reaction from you. Apreciate that. For me, what makes her extra special is the emotional dimension. I have seen other reactor take to their tears listening to her, as i do also. She does that.. Very proud of her as a Norwegian, but now i feel she belongs to the world..
She grasp your soul then start shake your heart, vision turns blurish, she fills your eyes with tears......the world turns to a better place.......an angel is given to all of us.
Só Angelina Jordan me faz chorar com a interpretação dessa música. Ela uma cantora diferenciada. Tem muito sentimento no voz. E acaba passado para quem a escuta. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's evident she's put *a lot* of time and effort into learning to make the most of her gifts, loves music enough to make the effort, not just coast on her remarkable talent. Apparently wants to learn about every aspect of music she can. Has learned a few instruments, of course.
Hi vocal lexicon, could you please, please do a reaction to Angelina Jordans rehearsal of the song When you wish upon a star, you will be blown away by how high she goes at the end of the song. Her voice is totally amazing, already one of the best in the world.
I see a lot of talk of range in terms of octaves. To me the thing that is even more impressive about Angelina is her range in terms of style. Just look at her two latest releases. Moon River- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0n13XcVdQr8.html I'd Rather Go Blind - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NeQm0A4UhGc.html These don't seem like they could even come from the same person... and those are only the two latest examples. If you go through all of her 100+ songs you will hear many, many more styles
Hello!! Good to see you back in the Angelina world. I have been waiting for your next reaction to her. So, as you are back, you sertenly came back good. Thank you for your very good reaction to this one. So now you got to hear her range. And you are on your way to get hold of Angelinas massiv emotional input to her singing. And I must say you still have a couple of miles to go, to experiance all the different ways Angelina manage to use her exstaordinary talent and voice. I can`t wait to follow you allong this journey, and learn from your very interesting comments to Angelinas art. Again thank you for this. Can`t wait for your next one.
Great reaction! So Angelina is a 5 octave singer? As I've stated on other sites, I lean heavy on country and southern rock music. I like Adele every once in awhile. Especially A Million Years Ago. I come home from work one day and hit-up youtube after reading the daily news (as usual). I get this recommendation for this video. I never heard of Angelina before. I was having a rough day so A Million Years Ago might be the thing for me. WoW was I surprised. Angelina's voice reach into my very soul. After the second verse I felt my body relax. It was very moving. I spent the next few months listening to as many Angelina covers as I could find. I haven't listened to Adele since.
wow! that's some story for you. I actually wish she'd, Angela would do a couple of more Adele covers. Other than that, her Lana Del Rey covers are medicine for the soul
Not yet sure, but based on this song and her I have nothing cover, she can sing around D3 {C sharp 3 is her furthest stretch} untill F 5. 2 octave 2 whole steps is already confirmed.
@@LeNaInLoVe AGT Spoiler Alert :p la la la la la. The Lana Del Ray covers are fantastic. Nothing against Lana, she sings in a higher range. Angelina makes everyone sound like they are singing monotone lol. Angel has a couple of Adele covers out to include this one "When We Were Young" no fancy mic. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BnMyaXAsVSo.html ... check it out!
@@erick-gd7wo Thanks for the info. Watching her experiment and test her limits with different styles, genres and technic has been a blast. I heard that in the studio she only needs one or 2 takes and is so perfect. Just shows how much work she has put into learning her capabilities.
@@LeNaInLoVe Oh and she does Patsy Cline like no one else. Angelina Jordan - Crazy (Patsy Cline/Willie Nelson cover) Live 2018 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gF183Y1OQlo.html
Commentators often bring up that Angelina changes her voice and singing styles to suit the song, but listen to the great old jazz singers from the past. They did the same. They would sing pop songs and show tunes as guests on the old TV variety shows and bring that jazz innovation to the covers. To me, she always brings her jazz singing chops to all of her songs, although sometimes to a lesser degree, it's still there.
The reactor said: '' Believe believe me, it is beautiful! The tone is absolutely beautiful!'' Me: '' Believe me! Believe me! I do absolutely agree with you! '' Thank you! Stay save!
Fantastic news! Angelina has just been named as a contestant on America's Got Talent the Champions taking place in January. This is her first Major Performance in the United States since she was a child, but now an aspiring star. She has a new album of Originals coming soon and this may tie in in some way. We wish her the best as she is a treasure. Please share this with all your subscribers
funny when people react to her singing, they are always mindblown and i understand, im mindblown after watching the same video 20 times with 20 different reactions
People, please stop saying she has a five octave range. She does not. That would encompass the basso profundo range right up to the lyric coloratura range. What she does have is a beautiful, evocative voice.
I love the way you used the piano to actually find the key in her lowest note to her highest ones. So you have a clearer picture of how wide her range are. And I love the reactions on your face when you're like talking bout the different nuances her voice are offering while she's singing in low key...then she took the 2nd phrase to the ceiling. 😅 Wonderful reaction!
Well done my friend. Looking forward to many more. Your musical knowledge and insight are much appreciated. I do believe this is effortless for her. It's like she feels the love in the music and breathes.
Great and informational reaction! But, if you look carefully, she is reading the lyrics off her iPad and you can see the screen light on the left side of her face. She is so good, she can do that and still instill the emotion into her songs. Just amazing! By the way, the microphone is hers (a Neumann TLM103) and used whenever she is in a studio type of recording and not just sitting on a couch and recording with her iPhone (which works too)... I won't post any links because there are already plenty of good ones posted. Keep up the good reviews.
That's why I say you need to listen to at least 10 or more songs across many genre to see her vocal range & vocal techniques. But even after you've seen many of her songs she will still shock you now & then with something you've never heard from her. She is just amazing & even though I've heard nearly everything she has done, she still suprises me. Even in songs I've heard her sing several times, I discover something new I never noticed before. As others have said, she is the GOAT!
If you want to spend an incredible hour, type into you tube:Angelina Jordan (13) - It's Now or Never - Prøysenhuset, Rudshøgda, Norway - 07/12/2019. This is a concert she did in July, there are 14 songs to listen to , not for a reaction, but to enjoy
She sings from C#3 (which is actually down in tenor range) up to C#5 in this song. She sung an F#5 in "Feeling good". So I guess she is basically a contralto, but can go lower into male range. But her voice is probably still changing.
Angelina can sing even higher than this, listen to her practice of when you wish upon a star, even her pianist has a shiver run up his spine when she hits the high notes towards the end of the song. She has more than 5 octive range!!!
Thank you so much for your reaction! I'm glad you got to listen to her full range (or almost) in this video. She could "belt" her head notes more powerfully but that's the thing. She choses to deliver them in a more personal, emotional way. Her delivery of each song is key to knowing what she's all about :)
If you wonder if she can sing "that" high, you should react to her cover of Whitney Houston's "I have nothing". Yes, she can sing amazing both high and low. 😉
;) I love the point where you stop the video at 2:12 and talk about them high notes just before she hits it! Some surprise, right :D? Thank you for your expertise.

Thank you for another wonderful Angelina Jordan reaction. She performed at Quincy Jones 85th birthday concert in the London O2 arena last year, and he said Angelina is the biggest talent he's seen since Michael Jackson. Please, please, please react to the magical AURORA. I suggest her performance of Runaway at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She wrote the song in one hour when she was 11 years old and it is really unfathomable that a child could write such deep lyrics. As Halloween is approaching, I also suggest her #VevoHalloween 2016 performance of Under The Water as bonus song, I believe this song is about losing close ones to addiction as Aurora has done several times. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fc7XWW_Ehb8.html AURORA - RUNAWAY - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vWBWaaAhE1M.html iamAURORA - Under The Water (Live) - #VevoHalloween 2016
I think 5 - 6 - 4-....2 octave is not that important. just listen and pay attention how she beautifully and unbelievably uses her voice coordinated with the music and lyric. how she delivers emotion trough her tone and vocals. wow her tender vibratos.(Frank cleverly mentioned it) and using a set of fry crying voice and vocal breaks(maybe) and breathy voice ....I called it tired heavy deep tone.sometimes it's like she has sth in her mouth that is very interesting and tangible and .... briefly she is so calm and union with the music that I sometimes think her cells made of music. she has born with music. I don't know anybody like her. others should be trained but I think she needn't training. . am I wrong? oh, And one more thing. her dignity ,her personality is praiseworthy. despite some singers who jump 3 meter up and fall on their knees and always choke themselves to show their ex 6 octave range and.... she is so calm, so personable, so sober, so admirable. so respectable, and self control about her vocal range. Bravo Angelina? God bless you.
alhadi ghasam, to call her a natural is an understatement, but still I believe she’s doing quite a bit of training as well. In addition she’s writing, learning different instruments, painting and maybe most importantly, being a kid..
Great reaction! She is the kind of singer that doesnt show of her voice, she sings with passion and pure emotions. We know her m8st from the deeper scale, but as she showed here, it's not all she got. She has acctually coverd a Whitney Houston song, I have nothing. She goes really high in it.it is great, great to see if in doubt of her range. It makes for a great reaction video. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eTcvvO6B3Io.html She did cover I will always love you, too. But I i prefer I have nothing. But it is really good. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eml4tIAqWUY.html
When you see how Dimash has improved from The Singer 2017 in a matter of 3 years from an already outstanding level... just imagine how Angelina will sing when she will be 20 if she keeps improving... and she will because she's a genius and genius have no mental limitation so they keeps improving... I think she might be even better than Dimash on the female side.
I think she does it better than Adele. She puts out more emotion ect... plus there's her tone. I just love sweet innocence, after your heart is melted she so sweetly says Bye.' awe. Just loved it. I think she can 6+ octaves. at least 5+
Her voice tone is derived from Middle Eastern mixed with Ukranian tones. Many Middle Eastern singers have these tones. Arabic and Iranian. Her mother is Iranian and father I believe Ukranian.
would be nice if you could „measure“ the tones in your future reactions as well as you did here , I guess many like me dont have the skills to identify them , thnx alot
Thank you for your professional reaction! My favorites from Angelina Jordans early age ( 8 years old) are from these outdoor concerts: What a difference a day makes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZSfgCIGd7k4.html and Summertime: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X6i-U-ZvZdg.html. You might also study her range of notes by comparing Born to die ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DNU-HcLuO_I.html and the Houston-cover; I have nothing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eTcvvO6B3Io.html
Thank you for the great reaction to Angelina Jordan . Thank you Frankie for takling out your piano to find her range and I knew she had a great range of her voice after listen to every song she has done and she blown my mind everytime. Hope you will react to those song very soon. Love your reactions frankie and that why you got a new subscriber to your channel.
We really don't know her range yet, but I hope she never becomes a show-off vocal gymnast, that shows everything she can do in one song., like so many of those divas that we adore today. She's a classic jazz singer, and I hope she doesn't stray too far from that.
Here's another side of Angelina you may not have heard yet. Enjoy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p8kAL-sGJx8.html I enjoy your comments and knew Angelina had quite a range, but I didn't know it was 5 octaves. She's an amazing young lady and I hope I live long enough to hear what she becomes.
Love the reaction vids. Here's another one from Angelina you may not have heard, a cover of Lana Del Rey's Young and Beautiful. I'd like to hear your take on just WHERE her voice is coming from on this performance. It sounds like a wonderful combination of chest voice and head voice, a very unique tone that I believe not too many singers can express. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3prGThnLil4.html Another cover in the same range is Stay: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_GSVPvCy3Yg.html
Another great, technical reaction. I'm impressed by your knowledge and trust me when I say you ain't seen nothin' yet! Just wait until you get to 'I Have Nothing', by Whitney Houston: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eTcvvO6B3Io.html or 'I'd Rather Go Blind' by Etta James: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NeQm0A4UhGc.html Either one will knock you back in your chair in astonishment. Good call on the mic - it's a Neumann TLM 103. Best that money can buy for what she's doing, and well worth every penny. Just a minor Edit on the mic - I've had different replies on this since I originally posted regarding the model number, with a couple of people now telling me it's a TLM 101, due to the Nickel finish on the metal. Since I'm not completely positive myself, I thought it might be worth adding this addendum in case anyone gets led astray. Irregardless, it's still one of the best ones I've ever heard.
Your reaction was very useful in helping me understand Angelina's performance(s). This is a great cover by Angelina of a popular Adele song. But it is not my favorite. I'm sending you four of her covers that emphasizes her remarkable versatility. "Wicked Games" (Chris Isaacs) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V0IMq420yPo.html Just AJ on the piano with her version of this great Chris Isaacs song; "I will Survive" (Gloria Gaynor) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ma7sa_n7k-8.html She's 10 hear and tackling one of the all time great disco songs; "When We Were Young" (Adele) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aHGSsqQOs5I.html This is my favorite Angelina cover of an Adele song. It's from a concert in Norway last summer and she is 13 here. The sound quality is very good, considering it's from a live outdoor concert. Can't get through this one without tearing up; and last "California Dreamin'" (Mamas and Papas) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EBI7Km3z7-U.html She completely rearranges this song and makes it her own, and it is mesmerizing. The remaining Mamas and Papas like it so much that they posted on their Instagram Page for everyone to see and hear. Now that's some respect! I'm looking forward to your next Angelina reaction. Best wishes. Billy J
This was only your fourth reaction to Angelina Jordan, as far as I know, and from your own list of videos. You said it was your fifth of sixth. Are there some you didn't post?
@@THEVOCALLEXICON Well, I was hoping. I really like your reactions. I hear vocal coaches saying things about Angelina's performances that are mysterious to me, and you explain things so well. For example, for her performance of Feeling Good ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7HaMvkflBAo.html , I've heard terms like vibrato, glissando, appoggiatura, falsetto, melisma, drive, and some I'm probably missing, and I wish I knew what all that means. Anyway, I'll keep watching your channel, and hoping you can explain it all for people like me. Thank you for doing these reactions, especially for Angelina. :)

I do not care for your breaking the performance to interject your interpretation . . . . I would recommend you follow up after with video clips of the part you are focusing on (which will jog the viewers memory back to that moment of excellence) . Breaking the flow of the song breaks the experience.
