VOCAL COACH REACTION Dimash - S.O.S | Slavic Bazaar 

Dimash performed SOS here in the 2018 Slavic bazaar only one year after the Singer 2017 competition. He has improved every single year and the Dimash Digital Show 2021 SOS is absolutely stunning. He also sings this at every solo concert and it is slightly different every time. All are gorgeous.

I have this recurring thought which is: "The thing I am MOST grateful for is to be alive while Dimash is here during the height of his career". To hear Dimash sing and to see him....it was all worth it in this life just to witness him! My biggest dream is to see him in concert....I hope someday :).

Dimash is the God of vocals and he is also a very handsome man. His voice is unique. ♥ ️

The 2021 Digital concert version is different, in case you want to check it out. And there is an acapella version and a version where he performs at a dinner event at the Cannes film festival. Just suggesting cause you love this song.😇

That`s my favourite version of SOS, although the version from the Digital Concert is also great and even more emotive and intimate. Dimash won`t stop to develop, always trying to get better and to make a difference from one version to the next. Although you know a song it won`t get boring. That`s also a reason to love Dimash beside of his wonderful beautiful voice and his masterful techniques.

Great reaction again. Dimash always sings S.O.S. differently. The next SOS to listen to is from the "Digital Concert". During the covid pandemic he couldn't tour and made a digital concert. The two great songs from this Concert are SOS and "Ogni Pietra" (Olympico). You need to react to "Ogni Pietra" (Olympico) and hear him do Opera and sings from Baritone, Tenor, Counter Tenor, Saprano and of course Alien or Unicorn. Thank you for becoming a Dear. We are doing as much as we Dears can to get him known in the west.

Glad to see you back. I am sure everyone here missed you as well. This was another very enjoyable reaction and analysis. There is actually less than a year between the original cover Dimash did and this performance. This was at the 2018 International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”, generally known simply as “Slavic Bazaar.” It is an annual festival held in Vitebsk, Belarus, sponsored by the Belarusian Government since 1992. Its main program promotes Slavic music and the majority of participants are artists from the former Soviet Union and other Eastern Bloc countries. Dimash has performed S.O.S several times since then; he sang it in several of his live concerts, for the 2020 US Presidential inauguration (via video), and most recently for his 2021 Digital Concert. Here is the translation to Dimash's final remarks to his audience: "Allow me to say a couple of words. From all of my soul (bottom of my heart equivalent), I want to thank you, dear audience, for helping me with my career while I was participating in Slavic Bazaar. Slavic Bazaar really means a lot to young artists. I want to express huge appreciation to you again, come to Kazakhstan. Thank you very much"

Thank you! 👍👍👍💕🌷💕🌷 Yes, Dimash never performs it quite the same way. If you watch the 2021 online concert version, again there are changes, especially in the lower register. The version that I treasure the most is the one he sang at his London concert. I was there in the first row. He turned sideways to face the image projected onto the back of the stage: the photo of Denys Ten, a young Kazakh skating champion who’d been stabbed to death just a month or so prior to the concert. He became so choked up with emotion that he broke down and missed a few lines. After the song, he stepped out backstage for a few minutes to recover. By the way, he wasn’t singing “plus beau vu dans l’eau”. He was making a liaison and saying “plus beau vu d’en-haut” (d’en naut), which of course is incorrect. But watch the 2021 version…😊😉😉. Which to me is amazing because even after performing SOS dozens of times over a decade, he still goes back and looks for mistakes to fix…!!!

I believe I see you for the first time, and I have to say I'm surprised at you there are not many like you, and what I mean is the way that you view the performance with your audience which is us without interruption and stopping his performance and then putting in some words and then turn them back on and then when he hits another note they have to turn it off again and talk some more. And I've only endured I believe two other that our reaction is that do not interrupt his performances. Thank you 👍 as you know as well as I he is considered to be the world's best and he can reach vocal ranges that no one on earth can, and if they've never seen them before for some reason they just have to turn it off and look at you like they're in shock. And they don't even realize that they are ruining the performance for the viewers when they do that and that will cause someone not to subscribe but to keep looking for someone like yourself. Experienced reaction viewers as yourself with the experience it looks like you have a few and far between so thank you again I hope you don't mind if I subscribe to your channel even though I talk too much. But I do have respect enough not to interrupt any of his performances, hey demands and deserves our total attention which is a good thing I look forward to seeing you again. And one more thing before I go I like the fact that you use your facial expressions and we can tell and feel exactly what you are without even interrupting the performance so keep it up you're very good. 😊

Now you need to compare this one to SOS new wave 2021. He changed it again and his voice continues to mature filling in the lower octaves G0-D8 7.7 octaves...which is amazing.

His movements are so beautiful, he has the grace of a ballet dancer, to the tips of fingers and the tips of his toes!

Great reaction/analysis! One thing though that I’d like to point out: please listen thoroughly again to the way he pronounced “d’en haut”. Indeed, he didn’t say “d’en l’eau” [dɑ̃lo] but “d’en _N_ haut” [dɑ̃no]. Dimash simply used “the liaison” whereas he should have not pronounced the silent consonant “n” in “en” (French nasal sound anyways). Ainsi, il a simplement fait la liaison entre la préposition “en” et le mot “haut”: on entend effectivement “[N]haut” [no] et pas “[L’]eau” [lo]. On distingue clairement que son point d’articulation est bien dentale, soit la consonne “n”, et non alvéolaire comme le “l”. Merci encore pour votre belle réaction/vidéo. J’apprécie votre sincérité!

Greetings from Australia, well Dimash has always had confidence. His first SOS was phonetically learnt, so if that's all you have to say about good and well. But sorry but no musical reactor doesn't even come close to him. Keep up the good work

I enjoy your reactions. :) However, there is one aspect where I have a different opinion. It is the matter of pronunciation. I speak only English. And there is an improvement in his diction since 2017. It matters little to me, honestly. I can listen to him mispronouncing English words and I am fine with it. Quite honestly, a lot of the English are not so great with their pronunciation, lol. It is his musicality, his charisma and his voice with it's emotional resonance that is paramount (to me). No disrespect. ❤️

This Québécois SOS by Plamondon and Berger may be the best song ever written/composed. I still prefer the performance of Dimash in Daybreak. It's a much lesser song, but a much bigger Dimash :) I am a French native speaker in Québec. I did not hear "dans l'eau" but "d'en wo".

Enjoyed this overall. At 10:38, you say he "sang the same notes" here. That run, actually, while superficially similar, is quite different. It is more difficult, more sophisticated, happens to have more notes, and sounds much fucking better.

About his accent in French. It was actually at its worst at The Singer competition. In watching previous performances, his French pronunciation was actually better before! I suspect the Chinese communist party pushed their own opinion of how French should be spoken, based on letters, which is ridiculous, but French is made up entirely of diphtongues and rarely sounds like it looks to a foreigner. Singers don't learn foreign songs based on seeing the that language written, but seeing/hearing it phonated.
