VOCAL COACH Reaction to MARCELITO POMOY Singing The Prayer 

Please keep in mind NO VOCAL TRAINING........he is self taught, and he's sitting down. He was homeless from age 7, humming himself to sleep. It's like the heavens came down and kissed his vocal chords.....he's amazing

The fact that he can sing in both voices is incredible in itself.

Marcelito makes it easy because he can. He is a singing angel on earth. For me, this is his absolute masterpiece, something of crystal clear sung, the bright madness

We filipinos don’t lip sync and we simply got bored of singing alone, so marcelito invented a duet!

Sitting + Perfect Pitch + No Studio Effects "Live" + 2 Language (English and Italian) + He is Alternating his Voice so fast as damn + He did the pronunciation correctly in italian + He did Celine Dion voice perfectly!! Dude seriously?? He is gifted anyways, so amazing that he can change his voice very fast!! I wonder how many people can do this.. "Or is it only him can do it perfectly.." Im confused but amazing!!

Thanks for the honest critique. But did you know that he NEVER had the luxury of having formal vocal schooling or training at all, like yourself as a vocal coach... or many "schooled" singers out there who sing to make money? He sang as a child to keep himself happy during his poor and rough childhood... until people noticed his singing later on. He sang away just because of his love for singing, while actively listening, and figuring out what works and doesn't work... and he's come this far... ALL BY HIMSELF. I'd say he sings better than MANY (paying) schooled singers out there in the world and who couldn't even do what he does at this quality LIVE performance. Imagine if he had studio editing/production like the "real professionally trained" singers have? He was sitting down and defying all the formal vocal techniques to sound as grand as like he did... and he didn't even have a pop screen! :-) I've seen and heard many multi-million dollar contract singers out there that couldn't come clean on a live performance. Oh, and there's the professionals who lip-synch...

He's filipino and the song the prayer was his winning piece at philippines got talent season 2 way back 2011....we love him a lot

Manny people don’t know about Marcelito specially foreigners, Marcelito ‘Didn’t Go to music School to learn voice Cultural, doesn’t have a formal training he is just gifted with this incredible voice that he was able to train by singing at a young age with Karaoke and Vediooke.

Marcelito is also singing in 2 languages, English and Italian, with perfect diction, and NEITHER is his native language since he is Filipino. He is also sitting down, which in itself is difficult.. It's a live performance with no studio "tricks". He was not trying to imitate Celine or Andrea.

This is an old video! Check out his performance on AGT Champs 2020 - it is flawless! A show stopper as judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Alesha Dixon and Howie Mandel were blown away! He took the roof off the venue and had a standing ovation for the duration of his performance!!

I just discovered Marcelito this week on America's Got Talent Champions. Since, I've scoured RU-vid for more. Coming across videos of vocal coach reactions such as yours is a delight. With this presentation, Marcelito has to jump from one performance to another, cutting off the overlapping of vocals that would naturally occur on stage. I was hoping he would record both performances separately so they could be integrated into a full duet. The flat notes prove to me it’s live, so I don’t even care. I would almost expect some pitch issues flipping back and forth. I hardly even noticed. I don’t have that range, so I’m not even going to judge.

Marcelito Castro Pomoy IS THE REAL DEAL. I had the great privilege of meeting and watching him in concert in June in Toronto. Check out his life story; it is worthy of a movie. Watching him live was like an out of body experience. The videos DO NOT do his voice any justice. I may be his biggest fan in Canada. Proud to be Filipino. Cheers from Toronto.

I would so love to hear your reaction to Pentatonix, particularly their covers of Hallelujah and Sound of Silence. I've seen others that appreciate the music, but don't really go into much depth regarding those techniques and mechanics.

Thanks. Just to point out that all singers on wish bus sing live uninterruptedly and do not use auto tune just sitting down. Lip syncing and use of auto tune is a mortal sin and illegal. Violators penalty is life imprisonment. LOL... Enjoy all their songs.

He was actually homeless and didn't discover he can do dual voice until he was 18 years old. He didn't received any formal training and self taught.

I hope to see Marcelito choosing more songs and adapts them to create his modern style. Being Marcelito, not Celine Dion or Andreas. I’m sure he can do whatever he wants.

Some teachers can not admit a student to be above 100% mark. Let's see about vibrato : how did Bocceli performed in that part of the song? By the way, Marcelito Pomoy sing Celine Dion classic song better than Celine Dion herself. In a recent recording (presumably clandestine recording at a live show in Las Vegas), Celine can still create those unique sound, but her voice is not as good as in the past. I bet he outperforms Bocelli too!

I think in 2017 he won Philippine got talent for singing the duet of the prayer a female's voice and a male's voice in Italian how do you sing like that sitting down I can't sing a lick but it looks very hard love your reactions keep them

I have also watched one live where the singer also switches voice a member of a group mistress I think they were in Asia got talent they came to our province and one of them an switch voice while spinning one side for male one side for female it was insane
