The thing I love the most about you Tristan is that you don’t laugh at them, you try to encourage them and you’re professional and understand they are trying and that’s so sweet to see.

At one point in my life I thought Simon and Gordon were the same person and like I didn't understand how he knew about singing and cooking.

What sucks for some of these singers, is they pass the pre-judges so they think hey im good. Then they get to the celebrities that tair them down.

This is what the judges should do. Give advice and recommendations and direction instead of shutting down dreams

I feel so bad for the last guy. I think he might actually sound good when he sings by himself. You could tell he isn't used to preforming in front of other people, but it's obvious he puts effort into it what he does. I think it's just his shyness that choked him up since he was able to produce some good notes here and there.

Tristan you explained what each and every contestant did that made their audition fail very well, you actually explained it and went into detail, very good job!! Most people just think that bad singers are bad singers, but what you said in that video tells another story, you explained just how they could improve to become amazing!! Even with good singers comparing yourself to Freddie Mercury is very dangerous. When you're a talentless fool it's extraordinarily distressing.

I'm blown away right now with the thought that some of those people are probably decent singers in their personal lives, but they get up there, get nervous, and try to be louder, and it ruins their audition.

Tristian should be a vocal coach for The Voice or something holyshit.

It's a shame that almost all these "super terrible auditions" aren't even real. They're put on these shows just for comedy. A few of them have talked about being auditioned, as actors, to do this.

*Honestly with all of my heart felt bad for the last guy. He was such a big fan and he tried. I think he was super nervous and it was showing in his voice. Because I couldn’t really hear his voice I’d say he needs to work on projection. Nice vid Tristan* 👏

My absolute favorite thing about Tristan is that he truly believes anyone can sing. He admits that some people need more help than others, but I’ve never heard him say that someone was a lost cause, and I think that sets him apart from most other vocal coaches. It’s just really inspiring and heart warming 💞💞💞

the redhead was a homeless guy from seattle. i knew him, he was awesome BUT i remember when he decided he wanted to be on the show. We all tried to tell him not to go.

I can relate to that guy with the guitar. I’ve been playing for 11 years and I’ve been in band as a percussionist/mallet player for 6 years but I cannot coordinate my voice like I do with other musical outputs. Bless his heart! I know how he feels!

I get what you’re saying about Simon discouraging people from singing but i think his intent might be more “you won’t be the next Gaga” which is for some reason where people think they will be after American idol.

Oh my god yes, ego is the number one hurdle in coaching anyone. If all they want to do is insist that they are doing it all perfectly and they can't even hear their mistakes in recordings then you can't teach them. I don't understand that attitude. No singer that has ever lived was done learning. Every one of us can learn new skills, can improve in some way. 23 is years singing professionally and even if I'd never gotten sick and had to start over I'd still have a huge amount to learn. Almost as many years coaching others and still so much to learn. You've taught me a lot and while I may not always agree with every little thing I do so respect your attitude and your knowledge and I have improved a lot just from the free tips in your videos.I was commenting on The collab video you did with James that I have made more progress just from following your free tips that I have the whole year before with just my own knowledge and vocal rehab I still have a huge amount of work to do before I get to a point where I can at least bare my own voice again but I can like see it now in the distance whereas before you it felt like I was just doomed to this fucking dying cat sounding voice I was left with. I've been learning Billie's songs because her range isn't huge and she keeps it relatively simple but sounds amazing. Her kind of 'lazy' quality is helping me unlock a new sound for me too. When I say lazy I'm not being a dick. I think you'll know what I mean. She always sounds chill and effortless and concentrates on the quality in every note. I have just fallen in love with her music. 'Bellyache' is so much fun to sing, though I do change it a bit and then songs like 'Hostage' and 'I don't wanna be you anymore' and 'Ocean eyes' and 'Lovely' are so beautiful. Sorry to have waffled on again. I felt super bad for that last guy too. Simon is an arsehole and I'm glad he's not England's problem anymore.

But you, you are constantly trying to help people be better! You are uplifting and make people WANT to do better! Rather than trying to bring people down and then use the excuse "I'm a vocal couch" Also you actually have a good voice on top of having great vocal skills which makes me happy to listen to you ❤️

Tristan, do you believe some people are tone deaf? I'm just curious because I know you're a big proponent that anyone can learn to sing. but I have first hand experience with people that just cannot hear or distinguish the notes or tell what note is coming out of their mouth. I mean I haven't done research or anything but I'm just curious what you think of it.

It always made me angry how mean the judges are on A.I. Really have always hated Simon's pompous, holier than thou attitude. I would LOVE to hear him sing! (Yeah, right.) What happened to constructive criticism? Forget it, we're going to humiliate people for the enjoyment of others and for money. 🙄

The way the judges talk to the audtionees is why I don't watch these shows.

It’s not hard to get an A in concert choir. You don’t even have to be able to sing to get an A. Just show up for the concerts and participate. That is, for high school concert choir.

I just adore your compassion for people. Thank you for not throwing people under the bus to try to get reactions, laughs, views ... whatever. I've commented before and I will keep commenting because your kindness, knowledge and personality combined all stand out to me in the culture we have today. Keep it up.

You should do more of those videos because 1: I’ve watched Idol since the beginning and I’ve always felt like the judges couldn’t provide useful comment or constructive criticism. 2: it’s a great way that we learners can improve. By watching other learners make mistakes and you advising them, we can absorb very effectively
