I love how u noticed jisoo's voice. Ppl be sleeping on her vocals. She has a rather husky voice, and while her voice isnt exactly deep DEEP, it is the lowest from bp.
@mvlti to be honest many can give compliments but jisoo does get ignored and the spotlight usually doesnt last on her cuz many raved about rosé in the song(though the vocal line in general tend to not get much attention compared to the rapline)

Athena Conde In a way it does, Rose sings the bridge in both ktl and hylt. The ending is a dance-break just like ktl. The ending pose is the ktl ending pose. Also the use the same “look at you, look at me” lyrics. The song is definitely nice but you can’t deny that there aren’t similarities with Kill this love.
Simplicity it’s similar in some ways but in others shows the company is at least tryin to be more creative. Lisa got the big rap part. Jisoo and rosé didn’t just share prechoruses and they even shared the bridge. It was a drop chorus but they sang a bit more. The music itself changes a lot whereas ddu and ktl were very uniform. But yes structure is very similar
It's funny to me that people would criticize two songs that they think has the same/similar structure when literally 90% of songs have the same structure; verse, chorus, verse, chorus, verse, chorus.

They meant in the first verse Jennie opens then Lisa, the second verse is a rap part, usually Jennie, the prechoruses are divided between Jisoo and rosé and it’s usually swapped the second time, the TWO choruses are drop choruses, rose does the bridge, and there is a dance break outro instead of a third chorus. Of course most every song has two verses, about 3 choruses, and a bridge bc that’s how a song is made. They meant variety for bp specifically. But for this comeback although still a similar construction, it had enough changes to show growth

I have been watching a bunch of reactors and the comments were always like “this comeback was disappointing” so I was like 👁👄👁 “am I the only one who enjoyed it?” and then I read these comments and I like how mostly everyone enjoyed it just as much as I did cause I seriously thought I was the only one. Hi I’m Weird for me, i feel like it was intended to resemble their other songs. Some phrases like “badabing badaboom” “look at you look at me” “du du du du du” were included in HYLT. Not only that in the MV itself, the umbrella scene is reminiscent of Jisoo’s scene in D4. I guess you can put it as, HYLT is to show the growth of the girls by reminiscing their past and experiences.
They also said like that to KTL too when it first came out but it still didn’t effect the popularity song either. I’m agreeing that this song isn’t good like 4D but it is their new sound new experiment for them to pull it out and it’s working. For me no song can beat 4D,it’s like the most superior song ever of BLACKPINK.
I didn’t LOVE it but I didn’t hate it. I kind of agree with people that it was kind of generic... I feel like the ending was a bit repetitive and extra and the vibe itself is similar to their past songs. However, I think every member shined here. Jennie and Jisoo for instance, nailed it.
