Thanks Jamie!!! Erik is so deserving of recognition. Ken, he stepped down from Skid Row due to a weakened immune system after chemo and he was getting too sick to continue touring. He has done a few collabs that are amazing too. Notably Carrolus Res (Sabaton cover) with Tommy Johansson and H.E.A.T cover (He was lead singer for them for I believe 10 years) of Breaking the Silence with Dan Vasc. He's a super "nice guy" as well.❤🎼🎵🤘

Eric sings an speaks 5 different languages. He along with Dan Vasc have a way wuth songs from others eras that speaks to those of us who long for true vocals. Pure sound that carries our heart on the note. I am 81 years old and if you realy pay attention to Dan's fans you will notice many of my generation who love this sound. I have even become a hard rock fan.....big deal!❤❤❤❤❤

I love saxophone, but I'm not going to slap you. 😆 (My hubby is a professional "reed man" and I'm a hobbyist.) Good saxophones are great, and bad ones are... well, bad. Much like vocalists in that regard. But Erik is definitely in the category of "knock your socks across the room."

You’re viewer who you quoted is mistaken. He didn’t leave SR to “treat” leukemia. He’s in full remission. He left because the rigors of touring were exhausting him and he didn’t want the band to have to cut back on their touring schedule. He’s doing great!

Erik actually did an amazing Rock Star-like journey. One of his first appearences was auditioning to Swedish Idol, doin a Skid Row-song. Then, years later, he was offered to actually take the place as new lead singer for Skid Row and go and tour with his childhood idols

I am so happy that a vocal coach is reacting to @ErikGrönwall. He deserves singing accolades and 100% respect for being a genuinely good human!! His personal strength through his journey so far is inspiring (to say the least). I wish more people were aware of the talents in Europe (Erik, Nils Molin, Steve Lee...RIP, Eugent Bushpepa, Dino Jelusick, just for a few examples). Then there are people like Girish Pradhan (India), Ronnie Romero (Chile), and Dan Vasc (Brasil). Maybe Elizabeth Z @TheCharismaticVoice would weigh in on some of these remarkable talents too?

He's amazing. Won Swedish idol in2009 I think it was and me and my sis were blown away. Good metal voices aren't common in a tv talent show.

Erik has also worked with Tommy Johansson, which I know you've reacted to, but then it's a bit more hard rock - CAROLUS REX w/ Tommy Johansson (SABATON COVER). Erik won Swedish Idol 2009. Erik and Tommy have two of Sweden's absolute best rock voices, but both can also handle more melodious songs. 🎵🎶🤘

When I saw Skid Row with Sebastian Bach I thought no one would ever be able to sing those songs. I was lucky enough to see Eric and he was even better. It was amazing ....

Erik won Swedish Idol in 2009 where he auditioned with Skid Row's 18 & Life (it'll be relevant later) and won with original song Higher. After winning the Idol he released two solo albums. In 2010 he joined Swedish rock band H.e.a.t where he replaced their original singer and performed on Adress the Nation (2012), Tearing Down The Walls (2014), Into the Great Unknown (2017) and H.e.a.t II (2020). Worth mentioning is that in 2018 he played Simon Zealotes in Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2020 he left the band to focus on other stuff. He joined his buddy & former bandmate Jona Tee, keyboardist in H.e.a.t, in New Horizon. In 2021, he was diagnosed with leukemia. During the treatments he started his RU-vid channel because he promised to himself if he gets out of the hospital alive he'll sing for the rest of his life. He won the battle with that shit and he sings until this day. New Horizon released a debut album Gate of Gods in 2022 and on the same year, only couple of months after his treatment, he joined Skid Row as their new singer. And Skid Row was and is one of his favorite bands. He released an album with them called The Gang's All Here and played a lot of shows with them. All the while he kept releasing covers with many awesome badass musicians. In 2023, he released Eriksplanations Vol. 1 vinyl with some of his covers released until then. As for 2024 - his busy schedule made him unable to record new New Horizon so Jona teamed up with Nils Molin to bring it to life and Erik left the band. He also left Skid Row in March because he wasn't able to balance his full recovery and being in Skid Row. There's his sentence that stuck with me - "Always remember that no job, no money, no fame is worth your health and well-being. Health first. Always." He has autobiography on the way in September (only in Swedish, for now) called Power. Beside music, he enjoys martial arts & books. Erik is one of my favorite singers right now and he is so hunble and genuine. He is using his god given talents to make stellar performances like this. His cover of Dio's rRinbow in the Dark is awesome too.

Correction he is not doing chemo but he has stepped down because poor imune system after the treatment. He kept getting sick on tour. Of my understanding he is free from leukemia. But suffers the side effects of treatment.

Eric sang this cover after chemotherapy. I really hope that the disease has retreated. Eric deserves respect and recognition. He is a strong man. And a great singer. Erik Grönwall won Swedish Idol 2009. If I'm not mistaken, Erik is the brother-in-law of Tommy Johansson (former Sabaton guitarist). Unknown donor saved singer Erik Grönwall's life. Today he is a celebrated singer in the American rock band Skid Row. Two years ago, the situation was different. When former Idol winner Erik Grönwall suffered from leukemia, only a stem cell transplant from an unknown person could save him. 8 Jan. 2024

If you curious on more from Erik why not watch his audition for Swedish Idol some 15 years ago or so. Love Eric, such a beautiful voice! Btw have u reacted to Gigi De Lana? I thought u did but can't find any on ur channel. Everyone's reacting to her. She & her band Gigi Vibes are from the Philippines. They started livestreaming from a garage 2-3 yrs ago (broke, jobless, & depressed during the lockdowns), taking song requests. Fast forward to 2024, they now have 2.12 Million subs on YT. They have a gazillion videos but u can start with THROUGH THE FIRE (Chaka Khan), FLY ME TO THE MOON, BETTER DAYS (Diane Reeves) & ALL I ASK (Adele). She can do any genre from pop to jazz to rock.

Erik also did a collaboration with Dan Vasc. They covered the HEAT song Breaking the Silence. Erik was the lead singer for HEAT at one point. This cover is on Dan’s channel and it’s awesome and a little funny. Check it out.

I rarely leave comments on any video, BUT…A video by Erik singling this song popped up on my feed just a short while ago, and I was stunned by his performance. At 80 years of age, there are fewer and fewer things that amaze, delight, thrill and affect my soul. This performance affected me just as the one by Whitney Houston did. Then, your video appeared. What a joy to hear this sung again. Your analysis was perfect. A wish has always been to be able to hit these notes, and even at this advanced age, the wish never fades🤨

Erick is a new one to me, and your review (if heard this version of this song for the first time, is hair-pulling madness, because Erick mesmerizes the listener but the plug on the euphoria gets pulled, every time you take a French Chief knife and chop it up to pieces, with your constant interruptions, that suck the essence of this masterpiece. Why can't you just let the artist finish the song....then go back and highlight your points with your critique? Or, do you think your frequent interruptions are more important than allowing the viewer to experience a rare opportunity of a song RARLEY covered by a male who's vocals are off the hook, and over the moon.
