Ugh, Naya was so underrated. She was such a natural performer. January is just too darn short! She has so many more awesome performances... "Alfie", "If I can't have you", "Shake it off", "Make no mistake she's mine", anything with the Troubletones. So many talented performers on Glee, and to think Naya wasn't even hired to sing initially. Glad she got the chance. I guess stars do find a way to shine.
Naya's solos as Santana were always so great this is another great cover I actually like it more than Alicia Keys' original version (And I say that as a big fan of Alicia Keys' music). This solo is actually in the same episode as Naya's cover of "Nutbush City Limits" (which is my favorite solo Naya did...you already reacted to that cover).
here are some of their songs you should definitely do: Cough Syrup Roots Before Branches Make you feel my love (By lea michele in The Quarterback episode, so a true tear jerker) Dream On (which has neil patrick harris as a feature)
Thanks for your fun and insightful video analyses of the many talented singers/performers of Glee. The poignancy of the loss of Naya Rivera still is haunting those of us who admired her gifts in song. Your observation of her carrying the spirit of Eva Cassidy rang very true to me. Her voice was unforgettable as well. I had a friend who was a folksinger/ songwriter named Kate Wolff whose life was also abbreviated by a premature death, but whose life enriched everyone who were lucky enough to share her company, virtually or vicariously. I wish you and your Karaoke Club much joy and success. John Malcolm
You should do "if i can't have you" underrated and amazing and "science fiction double" and doo woop (that thing) honestly i wanna a react from everything she sang
You almost got it right in the end. It's not really "the future". That scene of her coming out of the subway is her deciding to leave the college she was in and go to New York to stay with Kurt and Rachel... it happens some episodes before Cold Hearted.
I have learned a lot from you and I don’t even sing. I always thought when a singer makes what you call the crazy face I just always thought the singer is angry but now I know different. Thank you
Hi! I just subscribed after seeing your Surface Pressure reaction last week. Love your energy! 💕 It's been a while, but if memory serves, Glee had some great covers. I keep going back to Cough Syrup lately. The cover and the original. Love both versions. Honestly, I think Darren Criss (Blaine) sounds like Brandon Urie, but better.
I've just watched the watch party and I read some comments complaining about Rachel and Finn singing lead all the time. Guys, they are two of the main characters of the show. And if you say Rachel is not, you're lying to yourself because since the first episode she had the lead and also the longer introduction to the character. That's how a tv show works, just like high school musical, violetta, camp rock. However, I do believe that the directors could have divided the spotlight a little bit more. Just stop throwing crap at Lea's character when she's singing lead, because it devalues all the work behind it.
You should definitely react to another mashup like the one of Adele songs, where they mix I will survive and Survivor and the lead voices are again Naya and Amber🤩🤩
The way this song was written makes it impossible to not shout while singing the chorus, and Naya is no different. It's a good version because she's a great singer, but it's one of the weakest covers she did.
