The track is a mashup of two songs from the artists' respective Tony-Award-winning musicals: Hamilton's "The Story of Tonight" and Dear Evan Hansen's "You Will Be Found." Miranda wrote and starred in Hamilton, while Platt starred in Dear Evan Hansen, whose "Found" was written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. A portion of all proceeds from "Found/Tonight" benefit the March for Our Lives initiative, and Miranda and Platt performed the song at the March for Our Lives rally in Washington, D.C., on March 24, 2018

Lin is a freaking genius when it come to music in general. he knows what he can and can’t do when it comes to his voice, he stays well within his capability range but it’s so so beautiful.

He’s a good sing actor, he can convey a large range of emotion, and sometimes, in storytelling at least, I prefer that to someone with a strong voice who over sings and does a bunch of runs. That being said, this is some of the best he’s ever sung

What makes this song even more haunting and beautiful, is that it was arranged and released following the Parkland shootings, with the proceeds going to March for Our Lives, the student led movement to end gun violence in schools. Ben and Lin performed this live at the March on DC and marched with the kids involved to show their support as well. Talk about responding to a need, and supporting your fans in the causes that move them. Both of them put their platforms to incredible use, and the shows they are involved with cut right to one thing. Our humanity, and how crucial and precious it is.

Thanks for this reaction. I love Ben Platt (and Dear Evan Hansen is a great musical, portraying the protagonist's social anxiety as expressed by You will be found) but even more I love Lin. He might not be the most skilled vocalist, but I feel that his storytelling comes from a very truthful place and therefore every single word and note he sings arrives straight to my heart.

Okay, I'm glad to see someone else a) find this track so late, and b) have the exact same reaction I had. I was watching RU-vid videos while visiting my mom just a few weeks ago, and stumbled upon that very video. I think my exact words were, "Wait, this is cool... how have I never heard this before?"
