Marcelito is mostly admired for his humility despite his meteoric success and popularity. His musical prowess is, indeed, God given. He became homeless when he was seven until his early twenties. He was poor, with very little education and never had any formal voice training. He has since gone to school, ventured in business and does a lot of charity work with the love and support of his wife, daughter and adoring fans worldwide. The mouth that doesn't open widely is very useful in creating tones, it's like the ability of ventriloquist so that Marcelito can switch quickly with the pitch that is needed.

Fell in love with this song while I was living in Las Vegas. It was used during a segment of the Bellagio Fountains show [hope it still is] and I was really moved emotionally not only by the song, but by the way they intricately and beautifully wove it perfectly into the fountains' peaks and valleys. Hearing Marcelito's incredible performance brings the same emotions back. BTW, kudos to you for your methodical and knowledgeable analysis that only a professional can render. Thank you! [P.S. I guess the reason why he doesn't open his mouth wide open is to preserve his air in order for him to prepare switching from higher to lower register and vise versa also he looks more comfortable doing that than opening his mouth wide open when needed. There are classical countertenors who could do these things, coming close to what Marcelito and Dimash can do. But some singer told me "no, not close but even much better" and I have a hard time believing that.

There is a good version by another male singer named Zhou Shen from a 2018 Chinese TV show called Super Vocal - He really does a good high soprano. I tried to give you the link, but it immediately went to spam. If you type "Zhou Shen Time To Say Goodbye" you'll find it.
