Watching a pumpkin analyse the vocals of MCR may not be the most surreal experience of my life, but its up there, way up there. I don't care what else you've done I'm subscribing just for this.
Gerard has a pretty prominent New Jersey accent, too, so that definitely affects his voice lmao. There are other songs by them that really show off his voice more, highly recommend Famous Last Words, Sleep, Helena, The Ghost of You, Mama, or pretty much any songs off of The Black Parade or Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge - then you can compare that to their newest album, Danger Days if you want to. But anyway, love the face paint! :D If you want live performances you should check out anything from their 'The Black Parade Is Dead' concert, though there are plenty of other popular ones too.
i seriously recommend watching them perform live in mexico during their "the black parade" tour!! i also recommend watching them perform some of their songs acoustically/reimagined:]
Oh "the black parade" is cool, but it reminded me to listen to their song "the ghost of you" and yep still makes me want to cry. I don't know what it is about that song, but I just get all the feels. 😭😭😭
The last three long notes on “marches on, we’ll carry on, we’ll carry on” always gets me but especially the shot of him screaming the first one because idk, I think it’s just the story of the album mixed with the story in my head for his “character” that just makes it seem like the culmination and resolution of a lot of pain, bitterness, and anger finally being let out and he can move on. I know it’s the part I sing whenever I’m singing along. So much going on with the vocals in the end you gotta pick one set to go with lol.
If you want a video of him live that really shows his voice, check out anything from their live videos called The Black Parade is Dead. I recommend the song "Cancer" as it is lighter instrumentally so you can really hear how his voice sounds. Great video BTW! Learned quite a bit about his technique which I appreciate.
saw them perform this live 2007! it was an incredible experience, the crowd energy was insane there's a live performance here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LGh_lV6pmV4.html there's another here from when they did it on SNL, with a shorter second song you may enjoy hearing (very clear vocals from gerard): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kTMOp0Vh3lo.html
Hmmm watching you criticise layers of vocals in a recording? MCR is my favourite band. I think when someone recommended this to you it was for the story of the video perhaps. If for his vocals they should give you a live performance. Anyways, love your costume.
OMG! Never tougth this will be choosen!!! It is not my usual cup of tea but since my cousin used to listen them during her emo phase this album became etched in my memory. Thank you!!!
He did an amazing and very different acoustic take of this song that is amazing. I am not positive, but I think that it was on MTV unplugged. If I'm wrong please correct me.
Please check out *Favorite (Vampire) by NCY 127* for Halloween. It just dropped! Ps: please react to *From Home Rearranged Version at 2020 MAMA by NCT U* , I requested it in discord multiple times back in March.
Hey Ho, by the band Sekai No Owari reminds me so much of this song. No wonder why I played it over and over. I used to play this song over and over too.
