This one caught me when I first heard it. Had my first "big love" in high school, he passed before we graduated and I don't know - it wrecked me. The emotion she put into it, it struck me and felt relatable. Even if it was a different loss, I felt how big it was for her. So I can't diminish it
it's such a relatable song because who didn't drive around as a teenager missing someone you broke up with - it was the old mixed tapes you made for them that you now listened to alone feeling bummed out ..... as a 55 yr old that remembers Taylor Dayne and Al B sure getting me through those times I smile knowing in some small way I have something in common w the younger generations lol !!
I was at a Billy Joel concert in NYC last year and Olivia Rodrigo was brought on as a guest. I had never heard her music at all. She was actually pretty good live and did one of her songs and then sang Uptown Girl with Billy Joel. She was a pleasant surprise.
Hey Ken! She's very soft in the beginning, then very moving in the lead-up to the chorus. I don't understand, when me and my friends were young and someone got their license, we were happier then pigs in... mud. I'm sure this is going to be very trendy with the permit holders. 🤣Great analysis. Home Free put out a fun new song that will blow your headphones off with bass, and it's not just Tim, Chance jumps in on the bass too. The song stays in your head all day, It's called "Skull And Bones." ☠ I think they're trying to pitch it to Ubisoft for the game. I hope to see you soon, Ken, and bring rum. 😎
I recently watched her Disney+ documentary and it was interesting to hear her talk about what she was thinking while writing each song. There is not much current pop that I listen to, but I like her songs overall.
Fun fact. Disney isn't behind her music she's signed with geffen and intercsope records . Disney would never let her drop F bombs in a song considering shes from highschool musical. She didn't sign with Disney intentionally to avoid the Disney machine controlling her music
