You need to hear his clean vocals. One of the most beautiful male voices in the world (seriously, check it out!) Without Oomph the genre would not even exist so let´s give them the respect and credit they deserve.
Augen Auf & Träumst du please! Oomph! predate Rammstein and are basically one of the founders of the genre Rammstein made famous! Also, they're absolutely incredible live. Caught their first ever UK date in 2019 and it was absolutely phenomenal. They were supported by Heldmaschine, who sound even MORE like Rammstein (they used to be a rammstein cover band IIRC).
Oomph! Was one of the first Bands in the Genre "Neue Deutsche Härte" and in fact they inspired Rammstein to their Sound so the similiaritys are not coincident nice Video btw. ^^ Edit: If you are interested in more of their work i would suggest listening to the older Stuff, that would let you get the full potential of this Band.
Actually Dero Goi (Oomph! Vocalist) is overall a better singer than Till Lindemann, with a far superior vocal technique with a lot of levels, melodic and gutural voices. Btw Oomph! Is older than Rammstein.
Dero is a very talented singer, my dude. He has a huge vocal range. Going from operatic to more upbeat higher pitched voice to brutal growls/shouts, the dude has it all. This track didn't really give them justice though. Like many suggested, "Augen auf" is good for starters then "die schlinge" and then listen to "gekreuzigt". The differences will blow your mind.
I can only agree with The Seer I can also recommend "Auf Kurs" "Unter Diesem Mond" "Die Geister die ich rief" and "Brennende Liebe" there is also an english version of "Auf Kurs" (On Cours) and "Brennende Liebe" (Burning Desire)
There are two different singers on this track. Dero Goi from Oomph, and Chris Harms from Lord of the Lost. Both are great, I would highly recommend checking both bands out some more.
Ohhh so. Oomph! is one of the older German groups and they've influenced many of the current great names within the post punk/neue deutsche Härte genres! If you're interested in taking a dive down the many groups branching off of oomph, let me recommend Deine Lakaien! Maybe their song Return in the 20 years of electronic avant-garde version? Edit: here's a link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o9Bi-Mw-Qac.html
Dero Goi is an amazingly talented singer. ‘Die Schlinge’. Oh god. You just compared Dero to Till. Oh no good. They won’t like that. Oomph is Rammstein’s precursor. While still Neue Deutsche Härte, Oomph is more Electronic Dance than Rammstein and less Industrial
Hey Ken! Very nice to see you reacting to OOMPH!. Yes, they are a big german Band and even older than Rammstein. If you want to hear the singer (his name is Dero) more singing, I would suggest you this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hvNAY3hT3fM.html Its live from Wacken 201t and at 23:30 they peform the song „Unter diesen Mond“ („Under this moon“). A very beautiful song ☺️
Hey, good point. You're right about the assumption that the singer doesn't have naturally such deep voice. He push himself into it. I think it would be better if he didn't. But I guess they want to make the new music more heavy and badass by that. Yeah, and maybe a bit Rammsteinlike. He doesn't sing like this live at all. But they don't copy the genre - german industrial metal "Neue Deutsche Härte", they started it. As mentioned before Oomph were founded 6 years before Rammstein. Unfortunately Rammstein became more successful - I guess that's mainly just because of their pompous shows with all that fire and stuff. Oomph is more focused on music itself without distractions. Btw this song doesn't do them justice.
Europa is not a very good display of his vocal prowess. ‘Achtung Achtung’ is from the same Ritual album. It was released in 2019. Older music I would suggest ‘Die Schlinge’, ‘Sex Hat Keine Macht’, ‘Augen Auf’, ‘Auf Kurs’. My favorite song at the moment is ‘Spieler’. The live version of ‘Fieber’ is wonderful, and with how active he is on stage is absolutely amazing he can still sing so well.
There are many other German language band. Eisbrecher, Megaherz, Erdling, Heldmaschine, Maerzfeld, Stahlmann, Hämatom, Ost+Front. And a duo act of Dero Goi (OOMPH!) and Chris Harms (Lord Of The Lost) launched in 2020 with first single Die Kreatur.
Oomph! and Rammstein were both formative for the Genre of the "neue deutsche Härte" while "Die Ärzte" where more Punk. Non the less all these Bands always did a lot of society-critical lyrics and are often a moral compass for a lot of people here in Germany. Covering all sorts of themes from geopolitical problems to child abuse and so on. And maybe Music can catch those who dodge every criticism that would destroy their from propaganda manipulated minds. Especially the older Generation. I have the same problem in my family (russian heritage). My Parents grew up with the glorification of the soviet union, that stuff is deep inside them and i feel that it got even deeper once my grandparents past away and their time is running out now aswell. So they try to hold onto something from their youth to compensate. But this causes real problems in a world they should hand over to us. And they don't see that there is no way to win for them holding on to this, it's a fight they cant win. We are not falling for it and in the end that will make them lose us aswell, either trough war or their distancing from reality.
Oomph! , the fathers of the genre of the new wave of german heavyness (Neue Deutsche Härte). Rammstein came in later. 3 of the most prominent Bands in this genre would be Rammstein, Oomph! and Eisbrecher. Rammstein, you alrdy did, now Oomph!, finally Eisbrecher would be a nice addition. So i recommend Eisbrecher. Songs i suggest would be: Zwischen uns (between us), Miststück (basically bitch in a more "polite" way), Out of the dark (a cover, original is by Falco), Stossgebet (original is by Powerwolf), FAKK (from their newest Album "Liebe macht Monster" (love makes monsters))...
uh nice, oomph! - The album Unrein has many great songs, especially considering the vocals; some of them have english lyrics, though. „Foil“ has wonderfully sung vocals that stand out compared to many other oomph songs, the only issue is that only 10% of the song actually has vocals. But they are wonderful. The other album I would recommend is Wahrheit oder Pflicht, which also has many great songs (Tausend neue Lügen, Wenn du weinst, …). The Remix of the Song Brennende Liebe by Transporterraum is also very decent; both the remix and the original feature L‘Âme Immortelle for additional vocals. Nice voice contrast, very rich sound.
I think Rammstein got inspiration from Oomph. Either way, both bands are amazing. I recommend checking out a Russian band called Slot if you have not yet.
I really like Ooomph! as one of the first metal bands I listened too. I would also recommend to listen to some of their older stuff like Augen auf. When it comes to the newer songs I like 1000 Mann und ein Befehl the most, I think.
Omg I just realized you did in fact do a Oomph! Reaction video! I’m sooo excited! I commented on your Rammstein video suggesting them. Fantastic! Dero goi is a trained opera singer. Probably not the best song for your first listen
you should react to the song Das weisse Licht by OOMH!, where you could better contemplate his bass vocal range, and also to the album Sperm, which is considered the first NDH album, which influenced Rammstein.
As a UK citizen that is appalled by Brexit, I found it refreshing that a band would be so open about their opinion. I obviously don't agree, but I still quite enjoyed the song. Life ain't always easy eh?
Fun Fact: OOMPH! was an insperation for Rammstein because the Band OMMPH! does exist longer than Rammstein. So when there is somebody who calls them copycats of Rammstein, you're wrong.
the melody at 6:00 you were asking about is a very famous classical melody just turned into minor that's why it might seem familiar. It's late and I can't remember its name, sorry
Thought it was the Merry Month of Maiden. You haven't done Fear of the Dark at Rio or Rime of the Ancient Mariner.....come on Ken keep up the good work.
I haven't listened to Oomph for ages. This is a great throwback, but as a lot of other comments said, this isn't one of their most famous songs. Would be great you would react to a another song of them like "Augen auf".
We got some Oomph! up in here, now? This channel ticks all my Awesome Music boxes and I love it. Also, agreeing with other comments. Listen more, especially earlier stuff off their 'Wahrheit oder Pflicht' album. And their name still makes me giggle, too. Dont feel bad.
If you want another band who are Rammstein 2.0 check out Heldmachine. I'm pretty sure the lead singer was in a Rammstein tribute band, he sounds exactly like Till. It's so weird lol.
You're reacting to Oomph?! MY DAY HAS BEEN MADE! I wouldn't have expected this song admittedly, but I'm still thrilled. This song does not do justice to their musicality, especially Dero's vocals.
Since we are on this topic, you should look at Megaherz, a few songs to choose from I personally enjoy the most would be; An Deinem Grab, Blender, Rapunzel, or Zu Den Sternen. Oomph! is an amazing band, unfortunately you picked probably the least decent song to represent them by haha. They have around 15 albums so it's insanely challenging to sort through and pick the best of them for you to listen to. I really enjoy Ego, Das Weisses Licht, Kennst Du Mich, Why I'll Never be Clean Again, Atem, Diesmal Wirst Du Sehen. The list goes on with them, so much goodness to be found with Oomph!
Just asking... Is everyone forgetting their original sound? Sperm, defekt, Wunschkind and unrein? Those you listed have nothing on those records. Don't get me wrong, I like those you mentioned as well but their older stuff is what oomph is really.
@@the_seer_0421 Already know these ones, but I don't remember how to write correctly some of the songs... I remember Träumst Du, A.L.I.V.E, Ich Will Dich Nie Wieder Sehen, but I can't spell correctly the others.
Please react to other German music: Nina Hagen - Naturträne live 1978 (Nina Hagen is the german queen of punk) or to Knorkator - Absolution live@Summer Breeze 2015
There're several German bands which create the "Neue deutsche Härte" sound: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aTgKe-6rDeg.html or ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BGthmYzpGv0.html
One of Germanys best Singers for sure. They started as one of the first EBM Bands ever....and NO,OOMPH! was BEFORE Rammstein and all the other Bands,so RAMMSTEIN was influenced by OOMPH!....check out DERO GOI's Solo Project to hear his REAL Voice : WHAT ABOUT BILL? and their Cover of CREEP : What About Bill? - Creep [Official Music Video] : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5w5gWzvi-4Y.html
should do a react to Black Sabbath löive in paris 1970, song, Warpigs, ozzy at his absolute best! godlike preformance from the whole band, ozzy, geezer, ward and iomi
Probably not the best song to react to as a first listen... I was so surprised to see this band on your channel! I really recommend looking more into their discography, something from their older albums. They have a popular cover "The power of love" and some melodic songs such as kontrollverlust, swallow, i'm going down and so on... Dero (the vocalist) has a very powerful and melodic voice in the more melodic songs.
My wishlist part 1: Die ärzte - Schrei nach Liebe , and Rückkehr . Pearl Jam VH1 Rock Honors " Love, Reign O'er Me" "The Real Me. Bad Religion - Los Angeles Is Burning. Fäulnis- Weiße Wände. In Extremo - Frei zu sein - Wacken World Wide 2020
Your reactions and explainations of small details are too good ❤❤🙌🙌🙌 I request you to react on singer Atif Aslam I saw your 4month old video on your his singing.I was searching your playlist but i couldn't find another reaction on atif aslam song Sir the video you reacted did not do justice to his talent. That video was from a tv show finale. You must react on his more important songs. Please react to "Tajdar-e-haram - coke studio". You can even check "Jalpari" and "Rabba sacheya" (Even this both songs are from coke studio) Please do react to him you will love it Thanks☺❤
Hi, I'm a new subscriber and have also a suggestion for you 🙂 Please listen to the cover "Hoist The Colours" from Colm McGuinness Music. Great harmonies and a bass that gives you chill... Love from Germany 💜
I think you could react to this one. It's a colab of multiple German bands. SUBWAY TO SALLY, Saltatio Mortis, Schandmaul, Feuerschwanz ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bs0DhveZxAY.html
One of the bands that has a really unique sounding vocalist to me is Kamelot (they've had multiple vocalists over the years actually). Maybe you could try listening to Soul Society ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3O__HGSIkWM.html
I loved the first couple albums from them but they went too much dark opera for my taste and lost a lot of creativity imo. Defekt and Wunschkind where my favorite albums.
