ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

"Me quedo contigo" literally means "I stay with you", but the real sense of the phrase is "I'd choose you" (If I was given the chance).

@@eternaleez I edited my comment to be more precise. Thus "I'd choose you" would be the most accurate translation. It's truly interesting how a simple sentence like "me quedo contigo" can carry so many connotations with it, and how it varies from language to language.

you only have to look the clicks on the reaction channels... if that are spanish songs, few hundredthousands... more than metallica, tool or acdc...^^ but thats normal, because i lived 5 years in peru and all are crazy about all sorts of music there and the rest of south america... all know the lyrics from every song in the radio or on tv and that i never saw here in germany... they live music, we here in europe only listen music...^^

The choir was ordered by Rosalia to Bernat Vivancos, a teacher where she got graduated in flamenco. He is one of the greatest specialists in sacred music in Europe, he composed the choir while she was on tour in America The original song is a rumba style by Los Chunguitos So they transformed a rumba of the 70s into a mystical experience Even the arrangement of the choir looks like an altar.. it’s amazing!!

The choir is the one from the Orfeo Català, which has existed for quite a lot of time, I know that cause of friends who sung there with Rosalia, it's not a newly formed choir if i'm not mistaken

Yessss he did not "compose " literaly the choir, the choir existed and will after on its own...but....even the choir itself was amazed, as you all said, by this INCREDIBLE mystical, you are right, experience....everybody was amazed, i was amazed looking at it in direct during the Gala De Los Goyas, equivalent Oscar in USA....there was NO 1 sounds coming from the audiance....myself and others we were home watching : stuck to them and her voice....no sound but : inside ourselves it was deeply deeply vibrating....it was amazing to feel it. She is for sure one of THE BEST artist nowadays, she is sincere and she had and will work very very hard . Bravo and thanks to HER. This " little " woman is a blast. A Spanish blast , as Spain is ALSO A BLAST, and such a MODERN place to be. I am originally french...there since 10 years now....i would LOVE to stay more. I just LIVE spanish mentality, one of the most MODERN in all fucked up EUROPE.

You can tell Rosalía actually professionally studied singing and musicology for she is one of the few artists who use a healthy technique while singing whose notes don’t sound strained or too loud

Honestamente me lastima que la mayoria de la gente (incluso yo pensaba algun momento) piensen que solo canta canciones simples o hits colaboraticos; se pierden de el talento de su voz y el arte de su album conceptual. Si Rebecca no la pone aquí para su video de reacción, yo ni me entero que Rosalía podía cantar así...Yo la he visto en videos de canales que se dedican más que todo al género urbano, y sus canciones son más populares en ese género (hasta la ví en un video con J Balvin) pero siempre me pareció que su bailao, sus ademanes, y especialmente el estilo de su voz me recordaban el canto flamenco..... Way to go, Rebecca!...you just opened my eyes to an artist that, though I already knew, I never saw performing like this before....Good choice, Rebecca!

Los visuales en sus videos siempre tienen una imagen kinda like 'in your face', comparados con otros en el mismo genero...Debe ser el ADN en ella... That was just sublime. There's something about Spanish and Portuguese singers - you can hear such emotion when they sing. Rosalia is magic, pure art. I am a guitarist but I am impressed by his beautiful tone and impressive voice control; her falsettes, vibratos ... And with her prodigious voice she can sing flamenco (she comes from flamenco) but also rap, trap, pop, reggaeton ... But the most important thing is that she has mixed those styles, and nobody had done it before her. Certainly many people who do not know music, harmony, etc., really do not understand the importance of this that Rosalia has created. Even Madonna admires her and wants to work, collaborate with her !

Hi Rebecca!!! I'm Spanish and I feel really proud to have a national artist like Rosalía. She's unique in many senses and, if you loved this song, I'm sure you would also love to hear more flamenco, as many others have told you in the comments. Her technique is linked to that style, since she has been studying it since she was a child. I also recommend you to listen the whole album "El Mal Querer". It's based in the story of a man who beats his girlfriend and she expresses the emotions so powerfully... In fact, the title of the album, as it's a bit difficult to translate properly to English, it would be something like " The wrong way to love ". I loved your reaction. She always makes me cry when I see this performance. It's so powerful and sweet at the same time... She's completely stunning. Thanks for reacting to this!!!

Esta actuación es una obra de arte. -Escenografía -Luz -Vestuario -Maquillaje -Peluquería -Coro -Armonía -Letra -Voz -Cantante -Interpretación Y si hubieras entendido el significado de la letra a medida que la iba cantando y relacionar la letra, cada palabra, con el tono de voz, la gestualidad con las manos y la cara. Y ahora, "haters" mendrugos, no importa que sigáis diciendo que no canta flamenco menospreciándola, vale, no cantará flamenco, pero canta algo mucho mejor que el flamenco. Cuando el flamenco tenga el éxito, nacional e internacional que está teniendo, porque gusta y lo hace bien, y no por el marketing que lleva detrás (según los proflamenquistas puristas), entramos en debate, mientras chitón, y ajo y agua.

Cabe destacar que si canta flamenco. Del flamenco salen mas ramas. Si ella estudio algo sobre todo fue el arte flamenco. Que a los que se dedican solo a un campo del flamenco y de la música en general, les convenga ponerla a parir por que son incapaces de salir de su zona de confort, bueno, eso queda en la conciencia de cada uno, pero que se le juzgue a ella por ser como quiere ser y se juzgue su trabajo y el de muchas personas más que hay me parece absurdo vaya.... A ver si cualquiera de estas personas que la crítica, puede conseguir en el tiempo que ella lleva una cuarta parte de lo que ella a conseguido. El flamenco no sólo es camarón de la isla, José merce... etc.

Rebecca I was laughing my butt off at the end when you where covering your mouth as if scared that Rosalia was like a gymnast and you were worried about Rosalia's dismount on the balance beam. LOL. But, Rosalia jumped off perfectly off the beam and landed on a perfect 10 score.

Vamos a ver, entendamos la intencionalidad detrás de esto. No es un simple cover. Ella está haciendo un lolazo máximo, tipo... te cojo la canción de Los Chunguitos, y la convierto en esta epicidad. Y los españoles en casa nos quedamos Comorrr?
