Basically the show follows kids who actually go to the school where the original movie was set. So this video is showing a stage production of the original high school musical. I would try to watch the show again. The first episode was a little rough but it gets better!

seb actually graduated from university of michigans musical theatre program during 2020 (Mason Reeves, the guy who plays Kristoff on the Frozen Tour, also graduated with him). he’s so so good and if you wanna hear a little more of him, his cover of the climb is amazing. also the UMich MT 2020 senior entrance is AMAZING and he has a couple solos!

The vocals for this show were actually recorded live during the performances, yes they had some tweaking but none of the songs have been dubbed over lip syncing which makes it even more incredible when Seb (Joe Serafini) is able to have complete control when being thrown around.

I don’t think this was one of the live performances, since everybody had to dance as they sang. They sang many other songs in season 1 live though

@@growingupwithdisney I miss the days when things were sung live. Or at least, I miss when they sounded like they were sung live. Every single song in season 3 sounds like a studio recording, and I don't like it. I miss season 1

the show is set on salt lake city in the actual school where they did high school musical and the kids have to do hsm as the musical thats why its called like that lol, lucas grabeel who played ryan on hsm makes a cameo on like a dream sequence and sings a song with the teacher (who played glinda on wicked) you should listen to that its called Role of a lifetime

YES! I love listening to Seb/Joe he's got such an amazing voice and absolutely slayed playing both Sharpay in season 1 as well as singing The Climb in season 2.

It was basically supposed to be like the office, where the characters would talk to the camera. Here they love the High School Musical movies, and they go to East High School in Utah (where High School Musical was filmed) and the theatre program puts on a performance of High School Musical 1

Joe Serafini is amazing. He was still in college when he got the part of Seb. Check out his show at the Green Room in NY. Also, Frankie Rodriguiez is amazing too. The did a duet for Disney pride.

The guy who played Sharpay is Joe Serafini and he has quite a bit more musical training and experience then Ashley Tisdale did in the Movie and it really shows.

I'm not completely sure, and I'm sure it was touched up or laid over, but I believe Joe Serafini, who played Seb (who played Sharpay lol) sang that live! He's absolutely amazing. Also, the show takes place at the high school where High School Musical was filmed, with fictional characters there putting on HSM for the first time :). Loved the reaction!!!

Status Quo is more about staying in your group, not about breaking the rules. So the basketball guys only played basketball, the “nerds” only studied ect….

I think what they are trying to do with seb, is making him playing sharpay normal. And that them doing theatre and science/basketball is weird, but your sexuality isn’t. It’s just normalizing it.

do u not hear the lyrics of the song “stick to the stuff you know, don’t mess with the flow” that’s what they mean by sticking to the status quo. so if seb was playing a diva drama guy, and not going off and trying sports or joining the mathletes, he is sticking to his place and sticking to the status quo so no he’s not breaking it. and wdym where is the status quo they r breaking? they r literally putting on a production to HSM so it would be the exact same as in that… have u not watched high school musical at all? u didn’t seem so confused watching this exact same song where these guys r playing the same characters in their play on the show 😂😂
