@@rva о боже вы не знаете, что такое настоящее горловое пение. Ваш этот овертон жалкое подобие тувинского горлового пения, а точнее одного из вида "сыгыт".
she should watch Anna-Maria Hefele. the most people who can sing overtunes generally hold the low note and change the overtune ike Avi, probably not because they can't do both, but because it's really hard to control and concentrate the two aspecs at the same time. Anna-Maria, on the other hand, change both overtune and the low note at the same time. i never seen any other human who can do that.
When I was in high school, people would criticize me because I can also do the two notes at the same time thingy. If only they were educated about this back then.
She WAS the queen in the 90s, but we all know now that her voice is completely ruined. She's the reason I took an interest in singing from an early age, but with her diva-like attitude, treating people like they are beneath her, I have lost all respect for her.
@@MakeComedyFunnyAgain If you have a whistle register (which majority of the population have) but you can't control it, doesn't mean you don't have it.
@@darylacesantos Being that you weren't even ALIVE (your profile name gives away your age) when Mariah's first album dropped on CASSETTE and CD in 1991, you did didn't get to see the full progression and evolution of her attitude. I was OBSESSED with her. Mariah was the REASON I started singing in the first place and the reason I first took the stage at 9 years old. The more albums she put out, the more she seemed to run around with her nose stuck up in the air and the more I lost respect for her. She went from putting out quality songs while working with Walter Afanasieff to putting out trash after they no longer worked together and after her divorce to Tommy Mattola. These people probably aren't even ringing a bell to you. I was lucky enough to get the inside scoop in the 90s when MTV actually informed everyone of things that were going on in the music world instead of like today where its nothing but reality tv junk...but you wouldn't know a thing about that. I'm pretty well versed in how the music world works. I don't think you have the life experience, intelligence or vocabulary to tell me what I know and what I don't. She IS a diva and her attitude stinks. I don't care how many charities she gives to, she treats people like absolute dirt and her assistants like slaves. Fame does some crazy shit to people and she let it get to her, and her career has suffered because of it. She hasn't put out a decent album in years and its because she knows she can't do what she used to. There are numerous videos here on RU-vid proving that she can't. I cringe every time I see a live performance of her. (Cough cough, NYC New Years!) Kiddo, you need to lay off it. She is NOT the greatest thing since sliced bread anymore.
Just FYI: the jig that the "bird" lady is singing a John Philips Sousa March called "The Stars and Stripes Forever" It's one of those old timey Patriotic American Marches (hence all the flags in the video) I'd guess this was some kind of 4th of July performance.
Lalah Hathaway is the daughter of Donny Hathaway, a famous American soul singer, and an alumnus of Berklee Music College in my home town of Boston, so it's not even remotely surprising she's as ridiculously skilled as she is. Avi Kaplan is pretty impressive as well--the man has a stunning bass register! Yodeling gets a bad rap as being for hicks in America, but that takes some doing--and the second girl was insane! I was able to figure out the very basic whistling technique for throat singing back in the day, but I've been bad about keeping up with it... :(
I heard that singing is good at relieving stress...I’ve always loved singing (for my own pleasure) and felt surprised and a little guilty for still singing around the house when I lost my little brother 2 years ago. It really is like a form of therapy for me. Strange to be so incomprehensibly devastated but still able to enjoy music. Love your channel btw 💕
I used to be able to do the same thing on demand and I never thought it was a talent, I thought it was an accident that wasn't attractive at all (I can't do it so clearly now, funny what not using a muscle does)
I'm actually speechless!! Never seen such complete control and the ability to sing more than one note at the same time. The first clip reminds me of The Fifth Element, lol!! Love your channel and the way you explain everything!! Blessings to you and yours! ❤👏👍😁🤯
Please have a look at the never forgotten Italian singer Demetrio Stratos, from the jazz rock band Area. He was the first singer to study and introduce overtone singing into rock music. He was a musicologist and researcher. Unfortunately an horrific disease took him away from us at the age of 37, but his works remains immortal, a real source of pride for my country.
@@PerrieStyles not really alien like. It's an amazing sustained and supported C6 BELT. But belting high notes becomes a common thing now. It doesn't even sound "weird" like on the videos compiled.
Laylah Hathaway is absolutely incredible with every note be it that duel voice or even that beautiful scat or just regular. Her father is the great Donny Hathaway and her mother is a opera singer. But there is one that has voices you can never comprehend and that's Rachelle Farrell.
you should watch Nina Kraljić's performances of the songs "Nothing Else Matters", "Zajdi, Zajdi" and "Wicked Game" on The Voice Of Croatia. her voice sounds like a flute
Devin Townsend - The death of music (Live at the royal Albert Hall ), Devin Townsend and Che Aimee Dorval - Casualties of Cool - Mountaintop (The Dunlop sessions ) it is a live studio performance .
Wow how know that feel when u find a lovely video and want a reaction video of it u search it and there is no video then all of a sudden your favourite vocal coach upload a video with the title u wish for...omg that made my day and u mentioned dimash wow i feel like i reserved that video to be made 4 meXOXOX
Rebecca, you should also know Georgia Brown, a Brazilian singer who has the record for hitting the highest vocal note and for possessing the greatest vocal range for a female.
RVA, CRAZY...journey was amazing. Unique in every way. Learning about the whistle, crescendo, frying I think it's called. Also, head voice...so much to remember! Any how from New Zealand, Saturday morning 8 am, great way to start the day😲🎶🎼🎵in tune with life. Passion for great music💯💚
The first artist is Lalah Hathaway daughter of the great Donnie Hathaway. I had requested you react to Snarky Puppy feat Lalah Hathaway before. I would still appreciate your reaction if you have the time.
Another reaction idea. Evgenia Laguna ' s (my fave) or Zhang Jane's Diva Dance cover from The Fifth Element (I know you did a reaction to that Dimash guy's rendition, but Zhang and Evgenia's are even truer to the original). The original song had to be created partially with electronics as it was deemed impossible for the human voice But Zhang and Evgenia do it live. Evgenia even achieved the electronic touch of the original Edit: Tolkyn Zabirova also did a STUNNING cover. If I had to rank them all my top would actually be Tolkyn, then Evgenia, Zhang, and Dimash. Honestly, Tolkyn's feels note for note just like the original and it's terrifying
Watched quite a few of your reactions, and it is always fun to see someone who can appreciate a magnificent voice.... Don't get me wrong, most reactors can appreciate a strong singer, but the often fail to pick up on how impressive what they do is, but you seem to have it nailed down!!
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OVzigjgmMo4.html&ab_channel=NoLifer even though I know you have given *Dimash* his due, this is almost inhuman, like it is so high it is barely even still a sound, and is bordering on being a frequency - *D8* Of course, this guy - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UMvvE2jN1JA.html&ab_channel=EwerLord - the absolute top of the Rock singer mountain by a mile!!
4:20 That was pretty motivational! My voice cracks a lot in some musics (not like Sia, lol) and sometimes I do two tones at the sime time when I try to sing Talking To The Moon, if I don't controlle it. I think I'm really an Alien. But yeah, guess I can sing then?
Tought myself overtone singing to pass the time driving for 8 hours a day. It helps to know proper German pronunciation, because it's all about that ö.
You should watch The Voice - 1944 by Elina. It's technically and emotionally incredible, and as a vocal coach I think you would totally enjoy the dichotomy of the performance.
Taylor at the end was 11 when she competed in season 1 of AGT. Bianca Ryan another then 11 year old won that year. They both would be 18-19 yes old today.
when i was 16 or so, i listened to a lot of metal and quite naturally was super good at those fry screams.. There are so many different eays to get some weird sounds out of your throat, my favorite is a bowser like laugh =)
Rebecca apart from inspiring people and loving what you do, you are brilliant at what you do, like as a job you , your audience and I would imagine your pupils just get the added benefit of you being a wonderful giving person, it's funny when life throws us a curve ball sometimes, like in your case a tumor and you realise just what it is all about, many of us go through adversities in life but it helps us to grow as a person and in turn give to others, because that is what I see in you. Thank you.
3:01 "Isn't it wonderful" you say? Your hair is wonderful!!! You should do a video on Basso profundo at some stage, if you like lower voices you will be blown away by Russian super-bass singers!!
I was still a young boy ... about 12yo and kind of in a hurry ... but at the bathroom... and right then & there I had a wardrobe malfunction involving a my jeans zipper... and that's how I've learned how to yodle.
Oh my gosh, with how much you love different and unusual voices, you've just got to react to The Earth's Song by All Genadi Tkachenko. He preformed it on America's Got Talent, and it's easy to find. I kid you not, it is the weirdest, most freakiest thing I ever heard in my life, but it's also oddly beautiful. The guy literally doesn't sound like he's from Earth. Please check it out, and if you can't react to it, then please listen when you have the time. Love your reactions.
That Overtone guy, the one after Mariah Carey...that type of singing actually started in a country, that’s not a country any longer in Eastern Asia I believe, called Tuva. It’s often referred to as Tuvan (my friggin spell corrector needs to stop changing that to Tucson...I think Tucson anything singing would have us all foaming at the mouth) anyway Tuvan Throat Singing. It’s quite jaw dropping honestly and even a step up...many steps up from what that guy was doing. CHECK IT OUT! I’ve been attempting it for seriously 8 years now, I got close ONCE...when I was doing it like all day every day for a month and I know my partner wanted to strangle me the entire time. I haven’t given up though. I’ve got a low set voice, I think I can get it one day. It’s on the bucket list for sure.
I really do love her voice, the accent and how soft spoken she is. I’d love to have vocal lesson with you on diaphragm breathing to improve my metal vocals and just singing in general.
