The girl is a vocal genius. This is one of my favorites, and it goes somewhat overlooked. She pours so much soul into this one. You can't teach soul. You can teach notes, scales, and techniques, but you can't teach soul. She was born with the soul. You are saying all the things that I have always tried to point out to other reactors. The details... there are so many details in her vocals. This not only makes her songs so much more emotional, but it also makes them so much more re-playable. I think I have finally picked up on all the details in this performance, but I have heard it hundreds of times (not exaggerating). One of my favorite details in this song... the way she ends that line at 10:24 with that wide, breathy.... I don't even know how to describe it... but just listen to it (nobody does that!) As always, I really appreciate your in depth analysis. There are so many "reactors" that just listen and don't even hear all this stuff. You not only hear it, you point it out and explain it. I will continue to look forward to all your Angelina reactions :)
Yes, it seems like there is always something else to hear, or to hear differently and wonder at. I'm really enjoying these analytical reactions and the pauses and comments he makes are really helpful. Well stated, Rusty.
I liked your comment. And I wanted to add something that may resonate with you. I was trying to pin down a certain aspect of Angelinas voice the other day when it came to mind that she has a tone reminiscent of the sound you make blowing over the top of a milk bottle. It's deep but soft and somehow hollow and breathy. Like you I'm constantly hearing new little details and am constantly amazed by the fact that her creativity and control are sheer quality. She is a human musical instrument of stunning complexity and I'm not sure even she realises how good she is. Because she just does it, without thought, or apparent effort 😂
She is the QUEEN OF MUSIC. this god's gifted Super Special Super Star is the greatest entertainer that's walking on this planet. I enjoyed your reaction look and your mind being blown away by this unique and very rare entertainer. You've seen and heard from the best of the best now you are looking at the most very best of the best and from all the rest and the rest is going to be history. Angelina Jordan could sing anything and everything .she probably could sing the phone book and the yellow pages. when she sings you will get the chills then you get Goosebumps and tears coming down from your eyes. She just touches and captures your heart and soul with the emotions that she puts out. please let me know if I'm not sense on this one. She is the real deal and no one would appeal cause it's for REAL. I'm just a die-hard fan.
Not only does she use so many difficult & technical vocal abilities, she's creating new one. One for example is a harmonic effect. It sounds like vocal fry resonance with a blended falsetto, like sliding between the two, at the same exact time. or it's like she control's her vocal folds and without stress/tensile from a nonlinear behavior and glides smoothly to a typical stressed curve of her folds without stress somehow? It's right at the moment she moves in and out of Head/Chest, this harmonic resonance is heard, and everyone in the room understood? I think we have to consider a new fourth human vocal effect (Voiced Sound, Resonance & Articulation) and now what I'm calling it is "Human variable venturi" or the "Astar-Frequecy" (Spatial/Angular Frequency)
I get so emotional when she sings. Yes it’s amazing how i can’t get enough of her singing. Especially this song. In my opinion she is the best of this song. STAY.
Your reaction is validating, Fahim. I've listened to this cover a couple hundred times. It's inadvisable to say but, to me, this is the best a human voice has ever performed. I used to think Karen Carpenter was the most engaging voice I had ever heard, but Angelina is at a level, at least in this performance, never known before. I am floored by it every time I hear it.Thank you for sharing your professional and emotional appreciation for it.
I really love how much fun you are having 😁. You show everything you are feeling with your expressions and it's clear that listening to Angelina is just delighting you. You just keep smiling with happiness and its lovely to watch. Great video 👍
I really appreciate how much excitement and sheer joy you get from Angelina. She is so good that you find yourself giggling sometimes because no one seems to have told her that what she is doing is impossible 😂😂
After 3 months of listening Angelina singing and made little research on the Net about her career, i do arrive at the conclusion that the perfect way to talk about her is by using metaphors! This girl is a poem!
Thank you for your wonderfull reactions to Angelina. There is no doubt that you are on board along with the ever growing enthusiastic Angelina fan base. It is really nice for our self esteem to get your great explanations to her wonderfull abilitys in music, and even to see or hear that some things is even hard to explain for you as a pro. So maybe we are not so far out, calling our self fans of this child. Strange as it is, you make us understand that it is`nt only possible and even not just understandable, but it actually is as it should be. Angelina really is like one of a kind. She is like what W.A.Mozart was. Actually that was among the first thoughts that came to my mind as I first heard and saw her in the "Norwegian Talents" in 2014, she is a Mozart of our time. I do hope to see your reactions to those NGT performances of hers. She was 7 and 8 as you know. But I would also love to hear your thougths about this video, as we hear "At Last" performed by Angelina, Etta James and Beyonce in a mash up. Just stunning as Angelina is 8 YO!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X_nrFzVMWdU.html And of course Angelinas performance by it self too!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-819bQ9I-T-g.html
Amazing, incredible, unbelievable, stunning, awe-inspiring, marvelous, breathtaking, impressive, spectacular, mind-blowing and at least a thousand other synonyms for amazing that can describe her. I think your English is amazing because I know how difficult it is to speak another language. Thank you as always for another great reaction!
Music is like her 3rd language, she speaks Norwegian, English and music, fusing technique and feeling into a seamless tapestry that scoops you up and carries you along in soothing, liquid like ebbs and waves. Musical artistry at its finest, and she is still so young!!!
AS much as I love listening to Angelina I also love to watch her guitarist reacting to her, the looks of pleasure and appreciation of her talent on his face are delightful.
When you get a chance, watch this again, keeping an eye on Ivan, the guitarist. Some of his facial reactions are priceless. He may very well have been hearing her sing this for the first time.
Watch her BRILLIANT BRAND NEW ELVIS COVER, SUSPICIOUS MINDS. I cannot believe she was only 12 when she sung Stay it was one of my favourites for a long while.
She makes songs mean something. And her vocal mastery is always in service of that meaning. You might try her cover of Lana del Rey's Young and Beautiful. Or her tribute to her death friend Avicii Wake Me Up.
Thank you for your reaction and analysis! It’ll be interesting to hear your thoughts on Angelina’s original songs whenever they pop up in your playlist. And a cover like “Born to Die” which she supposedly doesn’t 100% nail... yet it’s still one of her best & most popular. 😊
She nails "Born to Die" 100% for me. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DNU-HcLuO_I.html It's one of my favorites. Better than the original.
william johnson oh, I very much agree, but if you look at some of the vocal coaches’ reactions, it’s the one Angelina song they typically point out a few tiny flaws in - while still loving her version. So I’m curious to hear Fahim’s take on the song. :)
@@mjolnir426 the supposed flaws are actually improvements in the song. she leads and lags phrases as she desires to help in the feel of the song. she is amazing...
Thx for your reaction I always like when people can point out new details of her work. I also very much like people who are able to respect and enjoy brilliant work of others.
She makes you feel like a little child no matter your age, that rush of feelings that wash over you is just the only way any of her performances' outcome, I'm am not a singer nor I have a good voice for singing but one thing I know for sure, she is light years ahead of any singer at this moment in time, and I can recognize (in her case anybody can recognize) this is beyond talent this was bound to her since the day she was born, she was meant to be, I dare say even before her birth she was picked by God and put this essence for all mankind to enjoy so she is the real chosen one and I'm glad I'm right here right now the same time this is happening, Thank you God, Thank you Angelina and thank you for your insight as a professional about what she can do and recognize she's out in a totally different league, that comment right on spot.
Fahimmuchi, big fan of your reactions.Love the detail you add in your reactions. I am also a huge fan of Angelina and I like how you give me a deeper appreciation for music. I also want to point out that, Rusty Shackleford, the guy leaving the comments right below me has his own RU-vid channel. I would highly recommend recommend that you and anyone else that wants to hear more of Angelina, check out his channel. He has the most comprehensive collection of all her videos, covers, interviews, rehearsals, even videos you can’t find anywhere else on his channel.
most all singers have "a" vibrato, and the songs they sing have to correspond to the frequency of said vibrato for it to sound correct. Angelina can change her vibrato at will to make it express the emotion she wants to project. Not only does she do that with vibrato, she does it with dynamics, tone, texture, timing, etc.... best I've ever witnessed..... BTW this has been my favorite for a while now....pretty much all of the songs she does with Ivan are amazing, it's her best sound....
I watch a lot of reactions to Angelina, and I've noticed that the more the reviewer knows about music and vocal technique, the more impressed they are. I've heard that Peter Sellers could do so many characters and he could move in and out of character so often and so smoothly that some thought he might have lost track of which one of then was the original Him. It seems to me that there is no characteristic quality of her vocals that is intrinsic to her, that literally EVERY aspect of the sound is CHOSEN, she's not stuck with any Characteristic qualities and there is no quality she can't use.
I agree she is extremly versatile and not bound to some style. In some of her covers you have to look really hard. But I think I'm beginning to hear some telltale characteristics of her voice. Not sure if that is intrinsic or just a preference, but its common for her songs.
I watched a live feed with the violinist _Ray Chen_ last night where he was talking about musical interpretation, and he gave a quote from one of his teachers, Christoph Eschenbach: _"When music repeats itself, you never play(/sing) it the same way. Not because you want to make an echo, or make it more interesting, but because by then you're already older an wiser"._
"Stay" and "A Million Years Ago" (and many others from her CoverChannel that you have not yet reacted to) strike me as "vocal exercises" in the sense that I think she was working with her vocal coach at the time on putting more feeling into her vocals. She's always been… I guess, "naturally" good at that, but I think she wanted to focus more on the technical aspects of how to do it. This is probably why you're picking up on so many technical things she's doing in these performances. For an example of the "results" of that effort, check out one of my favorite of her live-on-stage performances, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aHGSsqQOs5I.html where she absolutely slays Adele's "When We Were Young" (at 13).
@@fahimmuchivocalstudio Thanks for the reply, but don't give me too much credit for it. I've spent a couple of years now trying to wrap my mind around that voice. You've only been doing it for a couple of weeks, and you have a much better understanding of it than I do. I've just had more time to work on honing my vocabulary, is all.
I'd say Barbra Streisand is a vocal genius. When she performs a song, she brings it to life both emotionally, interpretably, and through enunciation. She is what most vocalist, though good at their craft, aspire to be, but will never achieve. Streisand stands alone in her achievements, a galaxy among stars. But, I do adore Angelina, she is an excellent singer.
Hey Bro! when you get chance check this out!!!! I want to thank you, also you may not have heard this one from 2020 when she was 14 years old. This song is insanely good. TRXD song she did with them called (Above The Water) Another amazing song from Angelina Jordan. No End to her talent, she takes anyone vibe and makes it outrageous. Love her.
Thank you for your analyze and for a great reaction video from you. I really like your reaction videos. As a fan of Angelina i really like your point of view and explanation. 😊
What a very appreciation humble and informed reaction to the new , "Barefoot Princess of Song" . I think this title for her will remain for her for eons to come. Angelina was blessed with a rare special gift at birth and she opened it at the tender age of 1.5 years young. At three years of age she set her course in life and has spent her first years of life perfecting this gift in order to share it with a humble spirit and love to the whole world. Angelina I believe was sent to the world for such a time as this to bring calmness to the world with her soothing vocal artistic genius. A gift from God to the world at large.. until the next one blessings.
Your analysis is very incisive including pointing out how many tools AJ has at her disposal You really need to hear I'm Still Holding Out For You when AJ was 10, you'll love it garunteed
When I hear Angelina song this song I can´t help but thinking of Smylyface. She was one of The first reactors to discover Angelina and she did it with song over a year ago. Her reaction was priceless. When she sat down to listen she had no idea what lay ahead of her...
Carl Anders Haugan Yes, I will say she was the first dedicated Angelina reactor but now I haven´t seen her reactions in three months. I hope all is well with her and that she will soon be back with her good reactions.
Yeah, and that particular video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lrUOqmWkjL8.html is, by a huge margin, the most popular Angelina Jordan reaction video on RU-vid right now. [grin]
thank you for helping me (all of us) understand why I am so moved, so addicted to Angelina Jordan- I am totally drawn to every song she "covers" with her own blanket so it becomes hers and ours. again thank you
Your analysis is as telling as the facial expressions of Ivan Mendez as he plays for her. The roller coaster he is on of appreciation for what he is hearing is evident. To hear it explained in your words at the same time was very gratifying. I truly enjoyed this reaction and why I subscribed a while back. As I said before it's OK to cry, many have done it before us.
This is one of my favorite Angelina Jordan recordings, and one of the most beautiful vocal performances I've ever heard. I didn't recall ever hearing the original recording. My first thought was, what have I been missing? So I checked out the original and returned to listening to Angelina. It's not as though Rhianna or Miley aren't good singers, it's just that Angelina is so freaky good. Her brain goes somewhere else when she is singing, and she describes it to us through her vocal tapestry. She will sell an incredible amount of music when it's all said and done.
I really enjoy your analyses. I love to follow your journey "down the rabbit hole". I goes so deep, its not just the technique, its not just the song, choices or arrangements, or the lyrics changes here and there. (she does that) Nor is sheer number of flawless performances. ITS the soul.... her artistic level is off the chart. And she is also a wonderfull caring and humble person. A true rolemodel. Oh Btw. she also plays piano, guitar, and flute rumor has it. Although i have never seen it. (flute) + her sense of style and design and the way she carries herself at such a you age. Its just crazy....
I actually don't mind about the pauses as you were giving us a lot of information bout how articulate Angelina is doing. I can watch a 1 hour video of you dissecting an Angelina Jordan song.☺️ And when you said in one part that what she did is way beyond you as a music expert ....respect to you man. Not all vocal teachers will admit that they are learning a lot from a young girl. Cheers! Thankyou... You pinned a comment with a link there. I don't know I'm not a vocal expert or anything close. I just enjoy beautiful music. And that one if I will rank Angelina songs that I've listened will surely be one of the top.☺️ And also I will leave some link here.. My 3 go to Angelina performances. Thank you so much for your excellent analysis of Angelina's vocal artistry. We all know she is mind blowing, but you are helping us understand why. I really appreciate that. Please react to her cover of the Mommas & the Poppas iconic song California Dreamin. It's the same set-up as this one with the same guitarist (Ivan Mendez) when she was 12. She totally rearranged it into a new song that that is so beautiful and amazing that the surviving members of the band were blown away & shared it on their official channel. That's real respect from iconic musicians of one generation passing the baton to a new generation in the dawn of their career. Same thing from Queen, who were amazed when she reinvented Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT-C. The only difference is Queen is still performing & I really hope they invite Angelina to sing a song or two at one of their concerts. I would pay some good money to see that! I can't wait for your next reaction to Angelina.
Gosto de sua análise. Só tenho uma observação, se possível assistir o vídeo sem interromper. E analisar no final. Interromper a apresentação o tempo todo não é legal.
Imagine for a moment than you are the musician at the guitar near her, can you have no reactions and play corectly until the end? Just imagine what are your feeling because he said it was only one take video.

Thank you for doing this reaction to Angelina Jordan. This was another one that she did better than the original artist. I love that you react to Angelina Jordan so often so you got a new subscriber. Love to see how you talk about this amazing angel with the angelic voice of Angelina Jordan.
Good stuff....very interesting to listen your great analysis and knowledge. You have pointed out that singing is more than some technical exercises but also about artistic freedom and conveying emotions. Angelina is really a master painter with her voice. There she is in a class of her own. I can not avoid to give a side mark when I see your acknowledgement of Angelina Normally voice teachers/musicians - who do these music video reviews/reactions things - are very enthusiastic when they hear Angelina. But in one singel case a seemingly US-based reactor channel (with nothing less than over 600k subscribers) - and calling himself voice teachter - reacted to Angelina's Bohemian Rhapsody. Well ... he wasn't overly impressed. He viewed her - although good - mostly as just a young girl, a wannabe, who didn't put her jaw in the right place, who obviously needed to learn some (of his) technics and who "... doesn't have any artistic vision in what she is doing....". Yeah....right... he said that to a song that Angelina herself had rearranged. Oh man.... what do you give for something like that...??? I myself needed crisis psychiatry after that. Who said that life was easy...!!!
Oh, my gosh! I am at the 3:28 mark! Already after the first phrase, you point to something i was asking myself last night: how do we call the technique Angelina uses frequently when she ends a phrase with the ah ah sound, like if she needed more air to breathe it or the emotion was too much for her to handle? I noticed before that some of her idols (Ella and Billie, in particular) do the same vocal trick and, to me, it adds so much on its emotional impact on the listener. You say it is so soulful. Yes, i like it so much. There it is: at 10:28! You see, it is distinct, it is more acute than the technique you underline at 3:28, right? I need to know. Prof, tell me, or, if you can t, you, the smartest in the classroom, the nerd : what is that? It is an overflow of what? Physiologically, surplus of air, lack of breath? Or, emotionally, overchage of emotion, trembling soul? Back to the beginning with something else. About her interpretation again. Her intonation changes according to the narrative, to the story: from 4:55 to 5:14 (actually, concerning you, from one pause to the next, it s crazy; my comments will never stop, unless i force myself to eat my tongue!). What amazes me the most is that the language you use as a professional of the vocal music art made up of an ample terminology put finally words on all the magic i could not explain and on the unanswered questions i had about her musical genius. No more: Well, just enjoy it! Well, its Angelina! Now, i m beginning to understand and enjoy. For instance: at 10:28, i think that i know now, but i need a confirmation of my faint revelation. Don t forget me now! I thank you, prof Fahimmuchi, seriously, for being openly all that you are: gracious, humble, sensitive, informative, without being...obnoxious! I love the movement of the camera, the zooming, letting us know that the emotion is squeezing your larynx! Your ah, ah turn! Like it is for Angelina, English being her third language, English is not your maternal tongue, but you are more fluent in that language than most anglophones i know! God blesses you and her, most certainly!
May i make a special request? In her studio recording of I m a Fool to Want You, a cover of Billie Holliday s, Angelina is only 11 years old at the time, and, right from the start, after two phrases, she already makes two ah ah. These ones are no soulful, but emotional fake. Plus, she sings like wowen do not sing that way anymore, so...sexy, seductively feline (in order to try that way to keep for herself the flirting-cheating lover!). That video reaction would illustrate like no other that singing technique that clearly set her apart in the vocal music industry. Thanks in advance, teacher!
Hi, Jacques! At 10:28 it kinda sounds like her very last (soundless) vibrato got combined with her exhale and that excellent mic she has picked it up. Not an expert opinion, btw. 8-))
@@stevek5332 Your explanation makes all the sense in the world: her last soudless vibrato find itself being combined with an exhale. What then that would be called in vocal music art? I know, Steve, about the effectiveness of her new micro: i find, it makes quite a difference in the tonality of her voice. Am i right?
Thanks for a nice and good reaction of "The Vocal Velvet Queen". She is 12 years old here. Imagine when she grows up? It's easy to forget how young she really is! you can hear the old jazz classic influence. It's as if she embodies all those old souls that have passed and is giving them new life through contemporary music. Her uniqueness is in the marriage of the old and the new.
