I saw her on Popstar to Opera Star when I was living in the UK. Claire needs to go the Sarah Brightman style theater diva/ high end cabaret route. She can start a whole new international career that way.
Claire strikes me as a one take wonder, I bet she just went for it and smashed it straight away. Like those people who can take 1 selfie and be done with it. She doesn't get the praise she deserves in my opinion.
The benchmark of a truly great singer is to smash the Spector-produced River Deep Mountain High. It's such an intricate song to get right, bit like Dancing Queen when many a drunk thinks they can sing it at karaoke....and can't because of the Benny-Bjorn vocal arrangement. Claire......you nailed not just River Deep but them all here. Her voice is very similar to the late great Karen on Rainy Days & Mondays....now that's a compliment! These songs certainly are NOT....better best forgotten! 10/10
I know you want to be Claire yourself Georgina 😁 Claire is my favourite of Steps too... she has an amazing voice, for me it’s Claire and Faye that really carry them. It’s a shame Lee doesn’t get more vocals.....
I still get shivers remembering her solo from the tour I saw them live. It just filled three O2 in London and it was so spectacular!! Her voice is amazing!!
I’m sorry, but that performance of Hold On was just mind blowingly good. Had me in bits during lockdown. Absolutely incredible and my favourite by a long way.

Loved her covers love hearing her voice she has been my childhood growing up listening to her voice. She’s amazing and so underrated as a singer in my opinion one of the best voices in pop. You should take a look at her singing no more tears (enough is enough) duetting with Marisha Wallace. Claire also brought out a solo album in 2019 ‘my wildest dreams’ it would be good if you reacted to some of her solo performances from her album 🙂👌🏼
Claire got a lot of stick for 'splitting up steps' but the other girls were massively jealous because she can sing and so naturally she got more lead vocals. So they ganged up against her and then acted all shocked when she left. And made her an easy scape goat but She makes steps who they are with her voice ❤️
They were jealous because they were fighting for a chance to sing even one lyric, Claire got to sing mostly all of the lyrics even though most of the rest are good singers.
Woo hoo so glad you done this Georgina. Would have liked her cover if Celine Dion's I Surrender to be included though. She is my fave Steps member too.
I've rarely leave comments on reaction videos and I absolutely love the Honest Vocal Coach, but I am left disappointed nowadays with Georgina's. I feel like she has lost the confidence to be honest and critical, and to really unpick an artist's vocal ability and technique within her reaction videos (possibly for fear of an onslaught from the artist's devoted fans). Her 'honest children' are, after all, here to learn - not to hear how much she 'likes' an artist's voice overall. Something I've noticed about Claire in her vocal development is how, since she was on 'Popstar to Operastar', you can see she often places her hand on her stomach whilst inflating it - an Operatic technique used for increased breath support. Also, the way she undulates within a song, giving it depth and flavour through her superb use of head-voice, vibrato and especially through those difficult belts. I wish Georgina could have delved into this more. I feel like the Honest Vocal Coach needs to go back to basics and really analyse and unpick the voice in her reaction videos - in order to help others learn and develop themselves. But who am I (and who's Hugh!?!) 😁 Xx
She was good back in the day but she has gotten abit screechy and I find her solo music boring. She just keeps going for high notes all the time that aren’t really impressive. She’s better in steps
