Thank you for reacting to this song! I also loved your analysis of Li Yugang ~ and how you focused on both of them with excellent commentary (it's easy to just focus on Dimash only). Great job! I have to say you picked up on Li's voice very well! Li Yugang is a singer and a performer in the China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater. He specializes in "nandan" role, which is male who plays female role in Peking opera. I thought their duet was an excellent mix of styles! With Li's someone traditional Chinese opera style, and Dimash, the chameleon. I find that Dimash often alters his voice to blend with his partner. In this case (in my opinion), I though he adopted a little hit of Li's style during the last section of the song. It helped when they sang in harmony. I noticed Dimash (when he started belting towards the end) slipped into a 'Dimash' voice. If that all makes sense. ANYWAYS! There is a new Dimash duet you haven't reacted to yet! It's "Jasmine Flower" (third year in a row singing it!). Dimash sang with Luo Tianyi (who is a virtual singer based off an anime, as far as I'm aware). It's also epic! The whole performance interpret a story of the emperor and a concubine (drunken). Dimash is singing for the emperor part and Li is doing the female parts. Li Yugang is 41 yrs old famous Beijing opera singer but he performs for female characters. ☺

Thank you Harper for you info, whay I want to point out is Dimash's pronunciation is very accurate, I can heat evey words what he is singing no need to see the subtitle. I cant imagine how much affort Dimash put into this song, to learn a new song within few day is not a easy job especially when Dimash Chinese level is only up to Hello I am Dimash, how a you etc.

Dimash sang 6 octaves in one song. BTW don't feel bad getting that whistle note wrong. I think no equipment in this planet can measure it accurately. We need someone to send one from another galaxy.

Love this performance!!! Drunken Concubine in dialogue the tragic story between a famous concubine of the Chinese imperial court, Li Yugang in that role, and the emperor, Dimash’s rol that’s why the throne at stage. At the end of the story the concubine is poisoned as a result of court intrigues. Li Yugang is a famous artist considered China’s National Treasure and he is a nan dan singer (male playing female roles) art forms from Peking Opera, giving the traditional art a modern edge. The way he moves (knees bent together and those "meows" have a special meaning in the traditional opera). What is most amazing about Li is that he couldn’t study in the university or conservatory of music, he is absolutely autodidact which is so admirable!! 👌👍💥 ❤️🎤🔝 One of the things a I love the most of Dimash is his versatility and his ability to show us different cultures through the music. He specialises in female roles, 'lan dan' basically means male playing female roles in Chinese Opera. I really like this guys voice, but I wouldn't say that he sounds feminine to me at all. He sings high very well, and he has a nice bright voice.

Hi cld u do Zhou shen reactions? Big fish, time to say goodbye and memory are all good songs to start of with for him. I think he is a very unique singer that may interest you if u enjoy dimash operatic approach plus a little feminine touch to his voice hehe.

check out real Peking／Beijing Opera, it's really amazing. traditionally NO females are allowed on stage, so all parts were performed by men. they not only train their voices, also dancing etc... I personally still prefer male performers (nan dan) but they r getting rarer as of course it is more difficult to train ^^ abit off topic but i highly recommend the movie 'farewell my concubine' (different concubine lol) but a brilliant movie with alot of Peking Opera :) also shows how they used to train ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I_fMEUmxXzc.html this is really great too^^ would love to see u react to traditional Peking opera!!!
