and btw, you are right. he is a technical beast. his technique is flawless. you should check his Hello cover. an absolute masterpiece. great blend of western and eastern music. and it was totally broadcasted live both from tv and internet.

I think that, given Vitas is such a big star in China and the song is so well known, Dimash may have felt he needed to take the song to another level. I have been a fan of Vitas for about 12 years but I now prefer Dimash's version of Opera 2.

He's absolutely legit. There are thousands of videos of him singing acapella without a microphone and he's no joke. Loved your reaction. Check out SOS from the first episode. He sings that one in French and it is beautiful.

Good job, yes.development from a young age shows he is 100% legit. There are hundreds of videos of him singing through his teenage years, all kinds of songs. And performing on the piano at age 5. Of course Dimash is Legit. Singer is a contest among professionals. So, naturally it is Dimash that is singing. Some people just cannot accept what they are hearing. Besides, I have heard Dimash sing a Capella and at the airports he sometimes sings to and with his fans. He started studying music at a young age and did not stop. He even had opera training (of course, it shows) and could have been a part of the Opera if he so chose. Dimash preferred this route. He wants to get to the younger generation interested is a better class of music and is going sort of pop/opera/ and as he grows, a little bit of everything. He continues to study music and will not stop. Music is his life. Since Singer, he has gained world popularity he is getting the negative comments from the poor souls that do not understand good music. The rest of us are in heaven, enjoying every bit of Dimash's music. Dimash came in first place on this song and SOS. Eventually he won 2nd place in the contest. I think it was only because he was the wild card.

Vitas was the original singer of "Opera 2", and modulated once. Dimash effortlessly took it higher modulating an amazing three times. Currently his range (so far from a multitude of his live international performances) is 6 Octaves from F2 to a sustained D8.

Dimash is 100% legit! This was a competition among professional singers who were already established. Dimash is a vocal god.

Hi Carl, that language being sung is Russian. There are videos of the original with subtitles in English. It's actually a very nice song. But I do prefer this version over the original. Sorry Vitas.

well there is not much commenting on Dimashes many performances, you can sit in awe if you know your singing, you can even laugh, like you did Carl Johan, still, there is something in being able to give respect for absolute talent and skillset.

After singing Vitas's song Opera 2 while the competition in China, Dimash asked for people not to compare Vitas with him, as he is able to sing this song two tones higher with four different modulations.

He is a genius...no doubt about it !!! Dimash is absolutely legit !!!

Dimash's 3 modulations at the end of that song were C#6 - D6 - Eb6. You know, of course, that his range is F2 - D8 (sustained!) He is classically trained and wonderful! Dimash is definitely "legit!"

Dimash is a singer from Kasachstan and hes singing since his childhood. He can sing the D8! you can hear in the Song Now and Then. I find the Diva Song is the best. In your Video this is the chinese Contest 2017 for the best Singer and the Others are Competitors. I like to listen to him.

He is legit - however i know that some productions will demand he lip sincs depending on the type and size of production eg lots of moving sets going on. Also tv production like to autotune for 'polish' but Dimash sings live and sounds just as brilliantxxxx love it - he will keep developing his genre :)

There are already haters of Dimash saying that he uses auto-tune a lot. It's actually the production team of "The Singer" in post production! I'n some of his performances you could hear the auto-tune but for the most part though it's 100% live. People just can't explain his voice so... they say there's NO WAY!!! that it can be real. He's just a freak of nature!!!!

Of course Dimash is legit. Been to his live concerts performances many times. Dimash’s parents are singers and he was trained since he was very young (may be 5 I forgot). What he achieved today is not just gifted but almost 20 years of hard work

I watched this show and I'm in the position to tell you that Dimash (astonishingly) did not win this contest, but got second place. He did win, however, this episode, as well as number one (when he performed S.O.S) and the sixth one (Adagio). There were about 14 o 15 episodes of this contest, that were attended mostly for well recognized chinese artists. Dimash was a foreigner and had not a previous fan base, and after this show ended, he became a star in China.

Any man who can sign in a 6 octave 1 note ( from the bottom of the baritone register , to high saprano, to whistle register ) range is legit in anyone's book ! And only two other singers come close , Mariah Carey and Axel Rose . Dimash also loves singing live. In fact he much prefers to. The few times he doesn't is when in a studio. I was fortunate to have been at his last concert. This guy is so down to earth. He will meet his fans and even break out into songs with them. Ask the London Concert goers their impression of Dimash. Blown away by the man's singing. An absolutely amazing talent. No if's , and's , or but's about it !

well it is a contest and he must perform to get votes. the audience loved it and they are the ones voting... Dimash did not win the overall contest, he came in 2nd place but he did win highest points for SOS and Opera 2. The Show Must Go On is episode 3. Totally different genre and another amazing performance. Would love to get you reaction to all of Dimash's performances on The Singer. I believe Dimash is 100% legit because I have seen performance of every kind, including A Capella.

Vitas wrote this when he was only 14 or 18 years old pretty amazing and there was a problem because dimash sing this on a show. You can look this up I found it by accident was surprised. As far as dimash being legit he most certainly is and yes he is amazing

He totally knows it gets gimmicky at that point. Look at that cocky grin on his face, he's just having fun with it at that point. That fun grin is half the reason this is one of my favorites of his.

Totally legit. He has been schooling in singing since he was about the age of 5. He plays about 7 instruments, sings songs in 5 languages. Someone else said 8, but I just heard the 5 on the contest. He is very humble and in entering this contest his biggest wish was to make it far enuf so he cud sing a song in Kazak fr his homeland, who he is very proud of. No two songs r alike. Every time u think u heard "the best one yet" he comes out w/another "best one yet". U must hear him do "hello". Lionel Richies version, not Adeles. U must hear Hua Hua Chenyu on The Singer 2018. All his songs r very diff. U will not b one bit disappointed. He shud 1/2 won the contest but unlike the other singers he sang songs that were true to him and were very out of the box. He didn't stick to traditional songs to b safe. If he had he def wud have won the contest. He came in second. He did win first place for best original song though. One song u must hear is "dad I'm home". However u MUST get it w/the English subtitles. Also Nanchucks and Fake Monk. Oh crap just listen to them all. U. Won't b let down at all.

Dimash's dad is on frame 4:47. Dimash is Kazakhstan from a border-town Aktobe on the Russian border. He is bilingual in Russian and Kazakh.

I have to admit that I'm jealous of people who can sing but Dimash sings at a whole different level, as someone who can't sing the happy birthday song without being sick to my stomach and becoming very embarrassed, I've always wished I could find someone who could teach me to sing along to songs the radio at a level that doesn't embarrass myself while driving but at 60 years old I guess I'm just out of luck and I'm just going to have to give up and listen to others while they sing!

About Vitas, he deserves respect for his talent, he wrote this song and made in known. Vitas and this song is popular in China, therefore in a way it built the path for Dimash and made his 2nd performance easier. Vitas (39 y. o.) in music industry for many years, It might be in some shows he lip sang, but many performances he sang live. By the way, in March 2018 Vitas was arrested and detained in Russia for 7 days for indiscriminate shooting in his home-yard and disobeying the police. Lately, he has drinking problem. Sad for this talented artists. So please show some patience when you are giving harsh comments to him.
