Dimash is the ONLY singer on the planet that gives me tears, shivers, goosebumps, heart and breath stopping everytime I listen to him, he must be an angel as NO singer ever did that to me, he deserves a Grammy, Oscar and many more..
This could be called Kazakh rock, it's really unique in exactly what sounds are combined. Other songs in this genre are Keil Meken, Qazakstan and perhaps Golden 2021.. Also interesting is Elim Menin, very masculine and patriotic music. If you haven't watched Samaltau from Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020, that is also amazing.. Dimash has other "simple" songs and I have heard the same statement from others vocal coaches reacting to these songs: "He does what the song needs". Don't forget he is a musician and uses his vocals as an instrument. Dimash is not just a singer with a magnificent voice. He is well grounded and reflects an integral vision trough his artistry.

A lot of his ethnic songs stay in his "normal" voice (not super high or low) He is so good at matching the way he sings to the music and the meaning of the song. Kieli Meken is another piece treated rather like this one--I think if you liked this one, you will that one too.
He isn’t only a singer he is also a multi instrumentalist and a composer. An whole hearted musician. I guess that helps him a lot to know what a song requires and to give him clear visions of how a song should be sung.

I listened to this song at Dimash's concert in St. Petersburg. The Kazakh songs made the strongest impression on me then. It was such power! And those growling consonants! The dombra is a traditional Kazakh instrument that is also recognized as the national instrument of Kazakhstan. Dimash plays (as do many Kazakhs, I’m told!). Always love your laid back approach to reactions. A good balance between admiration and respect for the artist and analysis of the technique.

The Dombra is a folk musical instrument widely used in Central Asia. It is made of wood and has a pear-shaped body with a long neck (only in Kazakhstan with frets) to which two gut strings are attached. The dombra can be rightly called the queen of Kazakh instruments since the XIX-th century. Dombra can be met in each yurta; it was referred to as one the most necessary and obligatory things in the life of Kazakhs. Although Kazakh musical instruments resemble those belonging to other tribes of the Central Asian ethnic group, they have their peculiarities dictated by national traditions. Today the dombra is a national symbol of the Kazakhs and Dimash said every Kasacian child learns this instrument. In many legends the heroes of successfully made use the ability to 'communicate without words: 'In spite of his father's prohibition the khan's son secretly went hunting. He met a herd of kulans and wounded the leader. Infuriated, Lame Kulan killed the youth with a stroke of the hoof. No one dared for a long time until an old dombrist (a person who plays the dombra) attempted. The sorrowful tune of the kyui was able to send this tragic message across to the khan.
