The melody seems somewhat traditional because it's from a fantasy drama soundtrack. The reason East Asian music traditionally had those larger jumps is that virtually all traditional music there evolved from the capabilities of early Chinese flutes, which were pentatonic. And as another commenter mentioned, she's still constantly growing as a singer, she graduated from conservatory (bel canto) last year I think, so it would be awesome if you checked out one of her more recent performances.

Best version is in my opinion still the original from Sa Ding Ding, who has an amazing powerful high pitched voice. I would recommend the same song from Sa DingDing, may be a bit boring (to analyse or react) but it certainly has a different shade to the song. She sings with more power in her high notes than Huang Xiao Yun.
