This was the first time they had sang it together [in the same room] and you can just feel their excitement throughout the entire performance. It's a stunner!
The contrast reminds me of an older Broadway lovesong duet; Ari is the sweet voice while Kelly is the deep voice - both powerhouses. The difference is they're both women and their ranges overlap a decent bit so they can REALLY blend amazingly in addition to the contrast. It's absolutely PERFECT.
One of my all time classic favorites is "My grown up Christmas list" which actually was sung by Kelly with Pentatonix a couple of years ago and it was EPIC!!! I'd love you to react to that!!!
Ariana can deliver powerful vocals as well She changes her tone a lot, and and i love her musicality, she always acts as a back up vocal whenever Kelly sings, and i love that, she complinents whoever is singing with her
There was a clip on Jimmy Fallon where Ariana and Kelly sang a mixtape medley of Pop Diva songs...That was the performance that made me go "Omg, they need to tour together."
for me this is the best xmas song there has been in years - and i always think it takes a good 10 years for people to except new xmas songs into the landscape but, i reckon this is one to watch. Future classic.
I’m not very into Christmas songs, but there are a few I really like!: 1- “One More Sleep” by Leona Lewis 2- “Loneliest Time Of Year” by Mabel 3- “This Christmas Days” by Jessie J 4- “Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande 5- “Cozy Little Christmas” by Katy Perry
Gotta see more of Kelly in this “When Christmas comes around” special 2021! I’d recommend her original about her recently divorced husband at the time called “Merry Christmas to the one I Used to Know”. Won’t disappoint, she sounds just like her record!’❤️
This was so good. These to are fabulous together. Both of them brought it to the table I like them together fabulous love 😍 to you and thanks for this reaction You are the best Tara
I love watching your reaction vids Tara! Not only did you provide helpful insights as to how Ariana and Kelly sang certain parts (like the singing of the "o" vowel for example and proper placement), but your reactions gave me a beautiful mix of wonder and the feeling of "I can sing this myself". It's evident you give advice not just as a coach, but as a singer yourself.
"Registerical change" I LOVE IT 😂 I also think it's super challenging how they switched harmonies! Kelly comes off a high belt into the lower harmony ("I don't need a thing"), then when they sing the next part ("What I want for Christmas"), Kelly takes the higher harmony. It's so beautiful!
My all time favorite Christmas song is "Why Couldn't It Be Christmas Every Day" by Bianca Ryan, who was in fact the very first winner of America's Got Talent back in 2006. The song was a massive hit here in The Netherlands and still is to this day. She had it released in the same year she won AGT, when she was 12 years old.
I just watched this perf and to see a reaction from you for it, how nice!! This is such a fun song and they're such great vocalists. I loved hearing them together. For a future one would love to see you do Big Mama's Killing Voice! Such soulful singers. Legends in Korea :) Thanks for your rxns and singing tips as always! Happy holidays!
Tara taraa we need more of you i watched all your videos that i like an repeat them again and again its actually good to learn more but i need moreee I am greedy Love you tara💖
Funny enough my first time hearing this song was at the PTX concert a week ago, they had a playlist of Christmas music playing before the concert and this song played multiple times. I had never heard it but correctly guessed it was Kelly and Ari.
Their voices "work" so good togheter because of Kelly's incredible adaptability and knowledge of her craft. Her team's duets on The voice are the best.
i would just like to point out that they were switching the higher and lower harmonies so neither got too tired singing the higher notes. u notice how tired kelly started to get when she performed it by herself, having to sing all those high notes back to back
Charice Grown up Christmas list with David Foster is incredible, Katrina Velarde just covered Mariah's Oh holy night and it's almost exactly like Mariah's recorded version w whistle and amazing.
Merry Christmas Tara, loved your assessment, so interesting to hear your expert opinion. Love love love this by Kelly and Ariana… it may be my new Xmas fave!!
Both are fantastic singers. I notice you have never reacted to Australian singers. Here are a couple you might like to react to. Vanessa Amorosi, Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrum etc… Vanessa has a range on her that will blow you away.
as someone already said in the comments, the crazy thing is that they didn't got to rehears it or just rehearsed it just like 2 times and as you also said, they're both so different and have different styles, but they work so good together
This is one of my absolute favorite duets Kelly has ever done. Please review Kelly and Cynthia Erivo singing When You Wish Upon a Star! It is transcendent of anything worldly!
Kelly is an incredible singer, but direct comparisons of the two aren't always fair because Kelly's been singing much longer. Kelly's also past her vocal prime age, and Ariana's just approaching it. The two sound so good together, though... and are so immensely talented. Their voices work remarkably well together!
At 5:20 Ari did this on purpose because she said that i think in The Voice show or interview i don’t remember actually but she said that she always did this to keep her whistle note there and not losing it .
You should check out Austin Brown & Rob Lundquist of Home Free singing “Nessun Dorma”! You can find the video on Austin’s RU-vid channel. Rob was trained in opera in college by had not sung it in 15 years! Austin had some opera training, but preferred musical theater. Austin talked Rob into doing the video to showcase Rob’s “hidden talent”! Shocked everyone! I hope you react to it! Thanks!
