Not only is she sitting down, but her technical proficiency is also amazing. She went from a belt to a whistle tone in one breath and her voice traveled around melodically during the belt and whistle tone. One of her belts lasted 14 seconds without a breath. Such great breath control.

My Facebook male friend from Austria who never had a singing lesson in his life, didn’t know the Tagalog language , doesn’t have a music job , almost homeless, yet loves Morissette so he learned Tagalog , went into a recording studio and performed “ Akin Ka Na Lang” as a tribute to her and when he put it on RU-vid expected a few hundred responses but are you sitting down ??????? 25,000 Likes and over 4,000 Comments 99% are OMG WOW WOAH He nails both whistle notes with as much vibrato as Morissette. I dunno if you were thinking of listening to any other Filipino singers. But if you happen to feel like it... KZ Tandingan is her name. Her covers on the Chinese singing competition show "The Singer" may interest you. She doesn't have a whistle tone but her arrangements of known songs is CRAZY GOOD.

I think maybe now you know why this song was so highly recommended/requested :) At some point you'll have to do "Naririnig Mo Ba" as well. It's comparable to "Akin Ka Na Lang" as far as how impressive of a vocal performance it is. Edit: When you do "Fly Like a Bird", make sure you do the one that was uploaded this year, or on May 9th to be specific. I love it when actual voice coaches react as opposed to regular react channels. You learn a lot of terms like head voice, chest voice, riff, falsetto and more. :) I also appreciate the inputs on how an artist switches between voices or the nitty gritty behind the techniques. From listening to morissette perform standing up live in her own concert singing Chandelier to here sitting in the wish bus performing Akin Ka Na Lang, please react to her singing standing up LIVE again in the 2017 Asia Song Festival where she sang two consecutive songs. You will understand that what you have seen here is no fluke especially doing it live in front of a very big audieence and in a country where she is not as well known as the other performers. The 10 plus minutes will be worth your while I promise.

Loved the reaction. One of her most iconic original songs. Brilliantly written by Kiko Salazar you'll see him with Adonis Tabanda who's the musical director/bass guitarist of Morissette on a lot of her performances and her video of Fly Like a Bird a cover of a Mariah hit.

Her breath control in this song is amazing. Like everything else she does. And the fact that she does these Wish performances SITTING DOWN - Rise Up, Never Enough, this one, Shine, Take a Look At Me Now, etc. How can she do all that while sitting?? Blows me away!
