When Mori collabs with Darren, you know it would be a blast. He's the only male Filipino I could think that could be on stage with Mori without over singing. There were male singers who often do vocal acrobatics while singing with Amon just to show off. But he's here, doing it with ease.
I mean they want to gain attention to the listener since the listener mostly there for Morissette so they will show off their vocals in order to gain recognition😉
This is a fine example of 2 top talents who know how to adapt their style and timbre to the spirit of a song. They also work to match their tones to best blend with each other. As a Aladdin fan, I used to listen to this growing up a lot in middle school! The new Aladdin came out and I haven’t watched it yet then I saw the original princess (Lea S.) tweet Morissette meeting Will and Al (hence, I didn’t know Mori yet). So I hopped onto YT, then watched it and before Mori sang, I didn’t expect much, but the MOMENT she opened her mouth, OMG, I was like WHO IS THIS and WHY HAVEN’T I heard of her before? I was a fan of Mori from that point on.
This blew my mind! They did so well together!!! Truly a joy to edit this one, may or may not have listened to it afterwards for another hour or two haha
I saw a video of Mori mentioning this song is one of the hardest performances for her because of the different voice placement she’s using, not her normal placement.

This what separtars Mori to a lot of singer here in PH music industry, basically she knows everything but when she really stands out is that she knows when and where to hit that note, how to stay strong or soft in any parts of the song, she knows when to attack or not, she know to convey the message effectively and give us that pretty face of her, over all she is really a genre killer type of a singer, who would have thought that a phoenix can be a princess as well? Who else? Only Morissette!

Even though I've watch many of these originally. Just the perspective of a vocal coach is so interesting in how you can catch those little styles, techniques, and tricks. Then the appreciation is just a whole different level.
When I listen to this, it got me chills.. because this sounds like the original -- remembering my childhood. :) I loved all Aladdin songs, but don't like the current revision in the movie. That ending... perpekto! :D

That would be kinda awkward... Mori sees Daren as more of a younger brother than any kind of romantic thing. Putting them opposite each other as Jasmine and Aladdin...I don't know how well that would go over... I DO agree that they both would do very well on stage! They could do GREAT, just likely not with each other.
