this reminds me of some of the auditions that were on american idol, most of the time parents are responsible for this kind of things that happen because they are encouraging their children too much even if they have terrible hearing

At first, I had a big laugh too, but there was something about her appearance that made me feel there is more than it looks like. She sang bad, no question about that, but after looking up what this pageant is all about, I have to shout out the respect I have for this contestant!! This pageant is all about transgender women and for her being Malaysian with appalling laws as it comes to LGBTQ+ rights, she deserves to be proud and that is what the cheering was all about!!

Actually, I have seen people captured her performance from the actual event with their phone, it sounded better (than this). And the reason you hear no clapping cause they didn't record the sound from audience.

Oof that microphone set up is hateful and darksided. Ooh, I feel bad because she seems like she could get there with more practice and control but wow, the mixture or the rough belting and the audio problems is diabolical. It's piercing and like one of those times where a singer breaks and falls off and it becomes like a snowball that gets worse and worse and they can't reel it back in.

The diction in my opinion is very good to say she is Malaysian, I think when the singer speaks another language can't really pick apart there pronunciation of words, she did very well to pronounce those words tbh, well done...........I'd love to see an English singer sing in Malaysian lol, but the singing itself was awful, not defending that because I can't, but the pronunciation was very good.....
The pronounciation was "ok" at best, and she's more picking on the fact that they are not the lyrics from the song. Someone wrote it, took time to make something coherent and meaningful, so you might think that she is disrespectful to the singer but the singer is to the songwriter lol.
It's important to speak about pronunciation because that is what makes the difference in singing well or not. The way you pronounce words helps hitting the notes right, that is why vocal coaches talk so much about mouth shape and tongue placement etc. Also singing in another language isn't that difficult. It is usually easier than speaking because the way you shape your mouth etc. in a classical ballad will be pretty similar in any language. That is also why opera singers can sing in all major languages of opera because the way you sing is very uniform.

That was the wrong song for her to sing. She should have picked one that allowed her voice to shine. This song was too much for her, and it highlighted all of her problems. She needs a vocal coach.
