A little bit about me..
Rebecca is a passionate Singer-Songwriter/Vocal coach/mentor /impressionist/photographer/creative junkie /self- development lover not a hater.
“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.

Agreed. So agreed. Floor is good, but the songs weren’t written for her, and it shows. Listening to wishmaster or Nemo, or i wish i had an angel now is like listening to nightwish play covers of themself.

@@SamA-cw3be I agree with this. Someone told me to watch the new singer and posted me their clip but I felt it was mere robotic singing. A lovely voice but no feelings or emotions were felt. It never gave me the chills. I am not into metal as much either but this may be the best live performance I've ever seen, from her looks and from what she was wearing to their voices melting together as one, beauty and the beast.

Tarja is Finnish, and when she speaks her accent is on the thicker side, so that likely explains some of her vowel shaping in comparison to native English speakers. She’s also a classically trained operatic singer with a three octave range.

TerranigmaQuintet this is like Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi. Floor it’s like Callas, sing everything no Mafer how, and Tarja as Tebaldi, singing always in a proper way to keep her voice always. AND OF COURSE THIS BOTH WONDERFUL SINGERS ARE GOOD FRIENDS who keep in touch by phone or text!

You know, heavy music gets vilified all the time, it’s so nice to see people appreciating the talent, hard work and passion these musicians put into their work, without judgements, for once. I highly recommend some of Floor’s work with After Forever, Simone Simons and Epica as well. That’s on the symphonic metal styles with female operatic vocals. Also, check out some of the work Brittney Hayes has done with Unleash the Archers on a more “regular” metal vocal style.

"heavy music gets vilified all the time" WIch is ironic when you realise just how heavy some Baroque and classical era composers tracks actually are, i mean Bethooven?, Bach?, Malher etc, and while Vivalidi's isn't really "Heavy" its still Lit as fuck!, there a good fucking reason why classical tracks work so well with Metal covers, have anyone ever seen Tina S "Vivaldi's goes metal" vid? its freakin insane!!!

Phantom of the Opera is such a perfect song for this band that you'd think Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote it with them in mind. Their voices blend extremely well with each other, which isn't that easy to achieve for any duet. Also, quite frankly I think he's the best Phantom I've ever heard. His raspiness contrasts the soprano Christine like no other before him. Lastly let's not forget the overall amazing work they did in arranging the song and bringing their sound into the mix. Fantastic cover altogether.

Floor is an incredibly powerful, versatile soprano, but Tarja has a magic that no one else can equal. Tarja's singing draws such powerful emotions from her audience. Nice to see Marco getting his fair credit too. With all the Tarja vs Annette vs Floor debates, maybe it's Marco that's been the greatest vocal constant in Nightwish's history!

@@RPJomsy nothing Floor can't do, it's just that the area that Nightwish lives in right now wants to bring out Floor's versatility and passion. If you can't hear an equal amount of passion and magic in Floor's voice it just means you are not quite listening the same way you are to Tarja.

They both brought to the band something that no one else could, and for that we have the Nightwish we all know and love today. I still think Anette's contribution was quite impressive, considering her limited classical training. You can't deny that as a rock singer, Anette is quite powerful in her own right.

One must know that Marco lost his whole falset register after a throat surgery in the 90ies. He worked hard to get his voice back. They cut a nerve inside his throat, so that his cords were kind of paralyzed.

@@alexojeda9048 probably to remove the amygdala or to remove polyps or cysts in the throat or vocal cords. Some singers damage their throats to a point they develop polyps and other things that should not be there and have to undergo surgery to fix. If done correctly nothing should change, if the surgeon makes a mistake or something goes slightly not so right the vocal chords may be damaged and loose their previous "power" just as it can get "more powerful". Vocal chords surgery is a very complex and delicate things

@@noone9177 It's what happened to me during a surgery when I was a child : surgeon made a mistake and broke one of my vocal cords, so I lost a big part of my voice. I did a surgery years ago to gain more power but I have to do it again :/

I like the stance you took. Tarja and Floor (and Anette!) are VERY good vocalists. It's not really a case of "one sucks one doesn't", its just whose style your prefer more. Its important to recognize that Nightwish has never had a bad singer, because no one dropped the ball and sung like an idiot. They just all brought a different brand of amazing to the table. It helps that ALL of Nightwish is extremely competent - its the full package. Good songwriting, good musicianship, and amazing performing. I think that is what you were trying to get at. They aren't singing, they are PERFORMING.

Very true. Too bad Anette got a lot hate just because her voice didn't work that well with old fan favorites. Two albums made for her sounded good when she sang them. I think Nightwish had good idea when they choose her to sing. Too bad they may have forgot the issue of performing old fan favorites live.

@@haleskiss Imaginaerum is certainly the point at which Tuomas finally got the hang of working with her voice and was able to work some magic with it. Now, maybe this is because its for a movie, but the album sounds way different compared to the rest of Nightwish's lineup, and I believe that is because they were finally writing for Annette.

Thank you so much for being one of the enlightened folk who agrees BOTH Tarja and Floor are vocal BEASTS. And I am very glad to have seen you react to this specific song. And as I'm sure you see many others are requesting The Poet and the Pendulum Live at Wembley. I truly hope you do this one, but before you watch it, I know your more listening for the vocals but some background for that song. The keyboardist Tuomas wrote it after the band had fired Tarja after this concert I believe it was. He was in love with her and he felt many people were mad at him for doing so but it was either fire her or the band breaks up. It sent Tuomas into a deep depression and instead of committing suicide he wrote The Poet and the Pendulum as his metaphorical suicide. It is a true masterpiece of music and think you would like it. You get to hear Marco and Floor together this time and it is a bit darker of a song. Hope you read this and have a wonderful day Rebecca!

Hi Rebeca...I have the same reaction every time I hear this. There is no other version like it anywhere ( in my humble opinion ). Its so emotionally and intensely charged. Its like they are part of the story, the interaction between them makes it so electric. Whenever Marco kiks in with his singing, its always.." who is that", jaws drop in amazement, He has an amazing voice as well as Tarja... I love this. And I love your reaction, its really genuine. It's funny that you said "she's hot" because the first video of you that I saw I was motivated to click on it because I though you looked like Tarja in the thumbnail lol ^_^ Since you like the crescendo between Tarja and Marco I'd recommend reacting to _Slaying The dreamer_ from the same live concert ("End Of An Era" tour). He's my favourite male voice in metal alongside Jorn Lande. There's also the song _Romanticide_ from the Wacken concert where you can hear him and Floor together :-) Oh and there's the official live for _Planet Hell_ where you can hear him with Anette, who replaced Tarja for 5 years before Floor took her place (the official live posted 6 years ago, not the one from 4 years ago because that one is Floor's first ever concert with the band). But if you really want to hear the range his glorious voice then listen to _The Islander_ live at Tampere. He does much more than just the growling type. His soft voice gives me chills

This rendition is incredible. I'm not one to listen to much operatic style vocals, but Tarja is near perfection. This, and Ghost Love Score are two of my favorite songs that she performs. If you're into Marco's vocals, two songs you might want to give a go are their cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes, or The Islander, a very lonely song with Irish folk influences.

I don't see a lot of people react to voices, or music like you do. You are expressive, and open. You let your emotions show, you let your enjoyment manifest itself so strongly. I think that is why I enjoy your reactions so much. I get the chills, or goosebumps, or I'll get tears in my eyes, but it's not so visible. I love that about you.

Marco (bassist) is also the lead vocalist of heavy metal band Tarot, who are friggin' awesome.

Hello, i would mention that actually her most impressive song is a Muse cover "Supremacy". I heard her sing a lot of stuff like Ave Maria, Nighwish songs, Her solo album and many others but actually i never heard a better vocal performance from her than on "Supremacy" UNBELEAVABLE !

I don't care how many times I watch your videos, and trust me I have watched this one multiple times, I cannot get over how charming and passionate you are. You take this performance, and you infuse it with a genuine emotional reaction. I absolutely love your personality. I cannot say that enough. See ya got the floorgasam and tarjarized and nothing from Annette in my opinion floor is the perfect fit for nightwish but I also love Tarja for me floor can be just as operatic as tarja but when it’s time for heavier parts she deliverers

@@SiriusWolf-ux7wo Its just preferences. Floor is more versatile (that doesnt mean its better) and Tarja more focus in one thing. Both are amazing. For me thou, Nightwish IS Tarja. With Floore is still as good, but is not Nightwsih. The problem with Annette is not her quality, but again that it wasnt Nightwish, it was something else. In the end, just enjoy if you like it, and if not, dont listen but dont bitching around. ;)

I though I made it very clear that it was my opinion and I love most nightwish songs no mater who is singing but floor is my favorite I’ve followed her from after forever to revamp to the devin Townsend project and now nightwish and northward and all of her bands in between where as you probably started listening to nightwish in the beginning with tarja

Rebecca, that bass player's name is Marko or Marco. Besides current singer, Floor or original singer, Tarja, he does sing on certain Nightwish's songs or as backup singing. I forgotten why Tarja left the band back in 2005, and she was replaced by Anette Olzon then replaced by current, singer, Floor that you have already to in Ghost Love Score. You need to find a video showing Anette in her singing then compared all 3 ladies of Nightwish.

Tarja Turunen did not "leave" the band. Right after this concert (I was there) she was dismissed from the band by a letter handed to her by all the other members. Just like that. No prior warning, no knowledge, that that would be her last night at that band. And then she was replaced by that Swedish tweeter, who is not worthy to turn note sheet pages for Tarja.

@@toweri_li I like both Anette & Tarja, but dont like Floor. Anette had a totally different style. It was interesting to hear her take on all the songs, and she had lots of stage presence as did Tarja. Cannot get into them at all since Floor joined. So yeah from my point of view i wish they had kept Tarja even if it meant less records, but still i can completely understand their reasons.

@Tower Li: She was kicked out because she demanded more money when the agreement they'd made when founding the band was that they would all get equal pay no matter who wrote and/or did what. She did close to nothing but sing in that band so her demand was preposterous, especially considering the fact that Tuomas writes, arranges, and produces 99% of the songs and he doesn't even demand any more than anyone else. Her ego took over and she became full of herself. According to the band members it was because her husband/manager had convinced her that she was the star of the band and therefor deserved more money. Ego destroys a band quicker than anything and thankfully they understood that in time and got rid of her and her, quite frankly, hideous Finnish accent.

But version with Floor & Henk Poort is the best version ever. There are dozens youtube reactions on that video and some musicians say that's the best version in history. I absolutely love it. When I later heard this version with Tarja and Marko, I somehow didn't like it...

I would like to suggest some reactions. It's been a long time since you've been reacting to Tarja Turunen. Please, from Tarja Turunen's solo career react to "underneath", the studio version or the live version from Act 1 DVD (it's one of the most beautiful rock synphonic ballads I've ever heard). From Nightwish with Tarja, the music videos of "Nemo", "I wish I had an angel" and "Bless the child" are wonderful. They deserve a reaction too. Thank you very much!

Try listening to"liar liar" by Kamelot featuring Alissa White-Gluz. It's a twist on the beauty and the best vocal combination, but the female does the extreme vocals while the guy does clean vocals.

I touched Nightwish the first time 2004. And I am still listen to today. But your reaction videos with Nightwish songs are the best you will find on RU-vid. Your British acent and humor is so great an lovely! I wish I had more time to watch them. ♥

The truth is that this concert is Tarja's very last performance as a member of Nightwish. She had become a prima donna, thinking of herself as the main person in the band, and her bandmates as little more than Tarja's backing band. And so, immediately after this concert she was fired from the band. This is why the concert is called End of an Era.

Well, let's be real..the two most important people in the band were Tarja and Tuomas. When you remove 1, your remove a major part of the band. It's no coincidence 90% of their best songs were from the Tarja era. Annette couldn't sing them at all. Floor can but it's still missing something. IMO, they should have hired Manuela Kraller. Listen to Neverworld's End from Xandria and tell me she couldn't fill Tarja's shoes.

Matt M hmm interesting! Why oh God Annette can’t sing these songs at all and why Floor is missing something whenever she sings the old songs ...!??? MAYBE BECAUSE they both are not Tarja?? And whenever they sing it , it sounds differently!? Capitan Obvious is here, yes
