6:55 - You'd be surprised that he is not even a singer but a rapper. And yet, he sang his parts really well.

The one thing you have to remember when you hear Filipino performances from singers is that autotune, backing vocals, pre-recordings, etc. ARE A BIG NO-NO in the industry. SB19 is a pop vocal and dance group; they make & produce their own music, choreography, and directs their music videos, and are known to be live vocal monsters. This particular stage is an impromptu LIVE performance, the news station where they were interviewed did not have the instrumental for the song so they probably TRIED to remove the vocal track and make it a minus one track, thereby creating this weird reverb/prerecorded effect.

Sometimes too much ado on perfection, you'll miss the beauty of the song and its message.

SB19 is one of a kind. In sync Choreography stands out. Their songs are original compositions and produced (like MAPA and LIHAM) which hit hard to innermost being of the audiences and relatable to individual's personal emotions. Social media also helps a lot. I'm just so proud we have SB19 dominating the music industry.

This was an impromptu performance. They just went to be interviewed by a radio station and didn’t expect to perform,the interviewer asked them to sing two songs and this was one of them. If you want to listen to the interview,it was with Rappler and they have English subs. Thanks for reacting to this inspiring group who have loads of talent

Never seen a vocal breakdown like this before, it was refreshing but these boys can really sing their hats off.

They are all great singers= the lowest voice Ken= he is versatile in singing, the long hair is Pablo the CEO and the leader, the song writer of the group. The guy next to him is Stell, the red hair guy is the coach of The Voice Next Generation Philippines. He has the highest voice, he is the main vocal and he is the choreographer of the group. Josh is the main rapper of the group, Justine is singing melody and the CREATIVE Director of the group... They are all talented, they own their company 1Z . They sing live , they are live monster , you can watch their live performance .. GREAT

just because it's normal for western artists to use autotunes and filters..doesn't mean artist from other part of the world also used it.

You may think it was too much when they layered their voices near end of the song but had you listened to it with the melody you'd appreciate it greatly since eventually it did work. Add in too, of course the meaning of the song ( talks about anxiety /mental health being in the limelight...ilaw=light ) hence, the cries and emotions. It all makes sense and all aspects turned out to be cohesive. This was an impromptu performance. Based on the interview prior to them singing. SB19 are not called " Live monsters" for nothing. They sound better than their studio versions its crazy! Amazing these boys! Filipino talent represent👏❤️🇵🇭

I've read this from comments in the other reactions channels. This was from an interview in a talk show and there was a part in that interview that they were ask to sing but the producers of the talk show did not (or forgot) turn off the backing vocals because they were not used to guest singing live in their show.

They recently sang Ilaw in Indonesia during the Round Festival and the Playlist Festival (no backing track). Maybe the harmonies toward the end (where you mentioned that it is too much) will make more sense once you read the lyrics of the song. It's like a cry for help. The lyrics are beautiful.

SB19 prefers Live Performances. They are called as Live Monsters coz they tend to be better Live as seen on this video. They do have a backing track but what they sound live is better. You need to see them dance while singing.

They were actually not ready to perform. They thought they were just doing an interview so they didn't prepare a minus one and only had the actual track. They played the track and sang on top of it.

This was very interesting! To my untrained ears, that backing track (or whatever it was) didn't bother me much, but that could also be because I've seen them perform live so many times that I can now only pick up their live vocals in this one. Seriously though, these five always slay LIVE, and they've got TONS of those. Hope you continue to check out more of their content! This was an interview where they were asked to sing live unexpectedly, the newsroom staff just pulled out the backing track. This is the first time it happened. I recommend their live performances in the Wish Bus, Liham, Tilaluha, etc. Pablo has written most if not all of their songs; he is a lyrical genius, a Filipino poet, try reading the subtitle when reacting, it's imperative to be able to understand their music; ironically, the bashers are accusing them of not being truly Filipino when there's nothing more Filipino musically and lyrically than their ballads. The choices of words are exquisitely deep, intelligent, and heart-wrenching which transcends even in translated English. Watch carefully this group, they might just conquer the world!

It's a live performance, only that it's a RAPPLER newsroom, not a radio studio. The microphones SB19 are using here are for news anchoring and the place isn't sound sensitive area unlike that is in a sound or recording studio.

They don't do prerecorded version, Filipinos also don't use auto tunes, they sing live in all their performances, that's how unique SB19 is.

hahaha I enjoyed and learned from your reaction here like when you demonstrated how "TC" Helicon works, that was useful/ helpful for many here who may not be familiar with vocal effects, but the group did not use a TC Helicon, it was actually the track that accompanied them, even most of us were kinda turned off with that but you are so professional in handling that confusion carefully trying not to offend your audience.

Thank you for reacting to SB19 I hope that you can hear more of their live such as I want You and Liham (Wish Bus Performance) 14:57 - Don't quote me on this but just a theory and a response to your question about stretched out scoop - yes most Filo singers stretch it out because Filos are into singing and there are a lot of times we try to deviate from the original version as we go live. It's risky albeit a fun thing to do coz we don't know if it'll turn out good or bad. Regardless, we take a risk in changing the tones. If that makes sense.

0:15 - This was an impromptu performance and apparently, the station (a news station by the way) was unaware what should have been done. They removed it in the performance of the second song, FREEDOM. It's highly recommended to check Wish Bus performances of SB19 or HD fan cams of their concerts, most notably Day 2 Manila Pagtatag Tour and Boston performances (Jake's concert). No autotune, no lip syncing
