Because, even during rehearsal or sound check, Sohyang doesn't pull any vocal punches. She doesn't have to "reserve" anything with healthy techniques like hers. Sohyang is incredibly disciplined in her craft but delivers her performance with her heart as you described. As a devout Christian and gospel singer, I would argue that her interpretation of the song is the most accurate and fitting for the occasion in this holiday season. Her lighter, airier tone in the verse paints the scenery of Nativity, and in the 2nd verse, her powerful voice goes full throttled in praising her creator. I often say that her performance looks both angelic and majestic. As you speak of a soulful singer, to me, I interpret it to mean singing with emotion/passion. I assume it's at the peak of her Falsetto range but isn't as delicate or unpredictable even for the best of the best who mastered whistles. That's what Whitney Houston perfected and both don't do whistles and is every bit as impressive as boiling tea kettles and dolphins.

Sohyang fans have a closed FB group. There was a survey on top 10 favourite songs. So many fans gave their list. I don't remember O Holy Night making of the list. In other words, you ain't heard nothing yet from Sohyang. Lolz. Another singer worth reacting to is Kim Jin Ho. He has two songs that captured the hearts of the South Korean and they are Family Portrait and Saldaga. For Family Portrait, you should react from vimeo with Eng Sub. RU-vid doesn't have Eng Subtitles. His voice is out of this world. No male singer sings like him.

Yeah! when you know what's what... she's like fountain of music... she has such open mind and a very big heart, that makes her able to see/feel things much deeper and in-detail, so she can express that with her music to that everyone, whatever their preference and sensitivity level, they have something to relate and enjoy... she's not human, surely an angel hidden in plain-sight. I was so funny seeing you geek out, she does that to me every-time, as soon as i start, my brain and heart both goes to 100% level in order to timely process all the vocal techniques and all levels of emotions she creates, so i can enjoy everything in real-time without missing anything....
