Both said NO to more opera. They were blown away by the response to this. Austin actually blushed when complimented, even his mom was shocked.

Rob was actually classically trained in college. Austin was also trained in musical theater and classical also. This was all Austin's idea and he had to convince Rob to do it. Rob had not sung Opera in 15 years. Thank God he did it was absolutely beautiful to listen to. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.

Isn’t this amazing, Frank? Rob sounds like a completely different singer … an opera singer! Austin’s voice is more identifiable but equally amazing.

They sounded incredibly "credible" especially Rob. He did have opera training when he was in college, but that was over 15 years ago. Austin. Knew of Rob's background when he approached Rob to do this project. What we got was a delight for ears. I agree they should do more classical stuff...make an album of it, but we do want to hear them with Home Free more too !!! Have you reacted to their latest off their new album? It's 14 tracks, but 12 of them are original songs. I think you'd be impressed with several they have already published with videos...So Long Dixie, Understand & Save the World are all exceptional songs.

This is wow, wow and again wow. This is extremely good. Fantastic. Both are doing great. But Rob, I'm perplexed. His voice is just magical, so rich, so warm, so powerful. Chills just ran through my body. It flows into my heart. He will be able to stand with the greatest of opera singers. It's not often that I listen to songs by opera singers 5 times in a row. But here it is. Of course I hope that both will always continue to do Home Free, but I wouldn't think it wrong that such "trips" are made more often. Opera, country, ballads, soul etc. I think anything is possible..

Great Reaction! I have never been a big fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.

This was great! The first time I heard it I thought it was going to be a joke, especially when I saw how they came into the church. Wow! Was I surprised. Come to find out that Rob was classically trained and Austin of course was theatrically trained. Blew my mind. I don't think there's anything these guys can't do. I've said about Home Free as a group; they could sing the warning label on a bottle of cyanide and make it sound appealing. Lol! They really do need to do more of this. To me, Rob was the biggest shock. Austin still sounded like Austin imo. I truly believe there isn't anything these guys can't do, and do well. Great reaction, btw!

When this was first released, a fair number of reactors....given the title of the video and knowing the comedic side of Home Free....were expecting lip syncing or some kind of skit. Surprise! You'll never see these two in quite the same light when watching Home Free videos in the future.

Rob study opera in college but hasn't sung it in 15 years. And Austin has a musical theater background with some college classes. You had the face of many reactors ,surprise, shock and amazement with total enjoyment.

"Some college classes"?? Austin went on full scholarship to the famous musical theatre course at the University of Kentucky, where he continued for years the classical training he had had since adolescence.

@@patriciamcl54 I believe Austin studied music/musical theater at Oklahoma City University and left prior to graduating. I don’t think he was on a “full scholarship” as he has referenced paying off student loans.

@@susanhorn4325 Even those on scholarship have to find quite a lot of funds (with the exception of some sports scholarships) as the scholarship rarely covers everything. You're right that Austin left before graduating - my point was that a university course, even if income.plete, is quite a bigger deal than "some classes."

Rob is classically trained and Austin is a theatrically trained singer. Kind of like Avi Kaplan. Avi is a classically trained basso profundo but is writing and singing Folk, Country and Western.

In an interview with the Patrol Gaming channel, Austin said he'd really wanted to show off "opera Rob"; however, Rob said he wouldn't unless Austin sang it with him. Austin went on to say he thought he been okay but that Rob was fantastic. One of the (many) things I love about this band is the way they support each other and actively promote other singers (i.e. Texas Hill, Brooke Eden, Maggie Baugh, Straight No Chaser, et. al.).

Have you ever listened to Rob's part in the Home Free cover of Three Dog's Night "Joy To The World" (unfortunately it is just a video from a Christmas concert at a high school in Minnesota when they were just starting out). A very different Rob. Also, his blues voice in a number of videos. Sorry can not provide any links. Thanks for your reaction.

It's not 3 Dog Night's Joy to the World. It is the Christmas song Joy to the World arranged in jazz fashion by Chris Rupp. 3 Dog Night's is a pop/rock song. "Jeremiah was a bullfrog,he was a good friend of mine". That was the first concert I ever went to-great fun.
