I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!
In 2008 I wrote the Vocaltutor Guide, 21 set lessons for singing teachers to get started, learning to teach, and produced 3 vocal exercise CD/Downloads.

Well, Dimash, of course :D There is room in the world for more than one great male singer, and I like Mitch and Che and heck, for that matter, Pavarotti. I can't sing a lick but I studied piano and violin and took music theory courses. Whatever credibility that gives me, I maintain Dimash is the best vocal technician I've ever heard. It is not dissing anyone else, but Dimash works hard on learning his craft and, combined with his genetics and his raw ability, he is the best in those higher registers. DKIFC/USA

I think Adagio is not the greatest demonstration of his techniques, more like one of the most emotive and powerful one. Sinful Passion at Sochi is a master class of turning an easy song into extreme difficult level and still sounds epic and romantic... same wide vocal range as SOS and lots of techniques executions.

Not all who hit the notes have a beautiful tone. Though different Dimash and David Phelps have wonderful tones in the upper range. Dimash has such a wonderful crystal like tone and David maintains the masculinity of his voice. The others become vocally tight and sound piercing to the ears.

David Phelps does maintain a masculinity to his voice when he reaches the higher notes. A quality that I enjoy. Many male singers hitting the higher notes sound like women sopranos. If you are a male singer I want it to sound like a male voice not a woman's. That's why I love David's voice.

Nice video! You seem like a really sweet person. I'd definitely recommend checking out Dimash's lower register. His performances of Give Me Love (not particularly low, but a much darker sound) and The Love Of Tired Swans would be good choices. Absolutely breathtaking. I think I've seen the David Phelps video you're talking about and I kinda agree, 20 second long straight tone note holds get a little bit irritating after a minute ahaha.

You were blown away by Giacomo Voli’s performance. He was a contestant from “The voice of Italy” and finished in second place. The winner was a nun (check it out: it’s so hilarious). Giacomo didn’t achieve success after the show though.

:))) no offence but Dimash have 20 years of training, classical training, he works every day to improve and to bring us new styles, new emotions on every song, we can see in live performance when is not pushing or is pushing just because the song matter like in The Singer 2017 with the song Daybreak, Dimash fell ill before the 8th round in the Singer competition. After receiving treatment from a local doctor, he defied the odds and delivered one of his most stunning performances. doctor said no more high notes but he knew the song is to important for so many souls so he risk his voice for that... the famous note D8 did it 1 time in 20 years and nail it, with vibrato :))) he hate lipsync, he is humble and is a master of vocal technique...

If you go through his journey of Singer 2017 first and follow through according to the dates of performances, you actually see his growth, his improvements of each song and languages. It is worth the journey to follow through.

Great reaction :] btw Vitas uses normal playback when at events or tv shows where hes forced to use their equipment but uses voice activation playback in his own concerts possibly normal playback aswell where he can sing anything into the mic and it will activate the recording :] there is 1 live opera 2 high note and that wasnt even in a concert and was definitely live but ofc sounded much different to the playback version Btw Giacomo Voli is epic he came 2nd place i believe if he had been on the voice of Italy a year before or after he probably would have won :P

Adam Lambert has been touring with queen for years now so he’s doing just fine! Lol. He’s one of my faves, Lee hyuk is Second for me, and Dimash I personally think is one of, if not the best alive! :) And I agree with you about Vitas! I understand there’s certain times almost all singers lip sync which is unfortunate enough but what really makes me lose respect for vitas is he LENGTHS he goes to try to fool people, and sadly for many, successfully does

My favourite high note range male singer is not on that list at all, which isn't surprising because outside of a somewhat smallish listening demographic I don't think many people have even heard of him: Radu Marian, a male soprano who is able to sing in the soprano range from C4 to C6. His voice is the result of changes to the larynx after an extended childhood illness, which meant his adult speaking and singing voice only became one octave or so higher than his child voice, allowing him to sing up into a soprano register without always employing techniques like falsetto. I believe he's retired from performing now, but his voice still remains one of the most unique and beautiful high male voices I've had the pleasure of hearing (sadly not live though). I tend to agree with your opinion on these vocalists. All male? I'm not familiar with most of these artists. What I observed is that many of these vocalists appear to be able to sing a song with high notes, however, can they sing with high notes consistently? As to Vitas, years ago he himself probably sang high notes, however, of the videos I watched of his performances I picked up on the lip syncing without me having any real musical knowledge. Dimash, to me, is the real thing.

Dimash surpasses them all by far. From the videos that are available on youtube you can tell most of what he is capable. But not all. He can do a freakin whistle sound, the very same that made Mariah Carey supposedly so "great". I've seen it on russian tv years ago and I don't even remember what song (I think it was a duet with some irrelevant female singer) and that whistle was better than anything that Mariah ever pressed out of her throat. About Vitas: Nope, he doesn't sing live and I don't know what happened with him, 25 years ago he created himself some kind of persona (kinda creepy, alien-like but charming) but now he is just strange. But back then russian singers stayed in Russia, and live singing was a no go on russian tv shows. I happened to hear him live at a concert, once as a child back then, and like it more than the recordings, but I have no idea how his voice sounds nowadays.

You have to actually listen to all of David Phelps songs to realize that he is the best out of all these guys and his musical brain is absolutely Brilliant and he actually pronounces his high notes instead of screaming the video you did was David Phelps high notes so obviously every clip is gonna be him belting and the fact that he can sustain that long is Incredible

@@MJ-fs4ne No. He's a tenor, not a soprano. The usual range for a tenor is from a c3 to a c5, sometimes to a c#5 depending on how careful you are with your instrument. Unless Phelps is a soprano, then he sure can hit that D8 with ease. However, the point still stands: he is a tenor, not a soprano.
