Yeah! And it's funny because it's not that she "forgets" the words, because she misses them in songs she performs regularly or she has performed hundreds of times! It's that she gets so focused on the singing that she just lets the words out without thinking much about them, and it's usually in repeated melodies where she gets the previous or next line. That's so christina.

She was big and successful in the Philippines during early 2000's. Even if she's not as successful like before. She inspired filipino new generation of singers and that is a legacy and success than sales. She is a legend and will be remembered for a long long time.

@@LordDarma i don't see how she inspires filipino new generations of singers.. our singers are all about birit with their soft tiny voices.. morissette has big voice but she still mixes her upper range which the safe way to sing but to me it's boring (depends on the song actually).. what if i find interesting among the new breed of singer though is Sassa Dagdag.. she has an interesting unique and big tone.. i also like that she has rawness and grit to her voice.. among our known local singers though, i find the the two lady vocalist from the band aegis very immersive in their singing.. it's not sissy or melodramatic.. they bring the house down with their powerful vocals.. so yeah i think it's the powerful vocals that i'm really drawn into.. that's my bias..

Morissette growls, charice used to sing xtina aguiera songs, katrina velarde always imitate Xtina. If they are not inspired of her they won't even sing her songs. And these young singers got emotions when they sing, even the contestants in Pinoy idols used Xtina songs for their auditions. They dont have to sound as Xtina but the fact that they are singing Xtina songs and use some of her techniques are evidences that she inspired new generation of singers. She was successful in the Philippines back in the day her songs are on top of the charts at MTV Asia, Channel V, and MYX. You prolly don't know if you are not born in the 90's and early 2000's. And thats a fact coz Ive been following her and wasted my money to vote for her songs.

@@LordDarma i see what you mean.. maybe i was just thinking of mariah-level of influence where almost everyone is trying to sound like her.. to be fair though, it's hard to sound like christina without trying too hard.. that big voice and tone can only be immitated for a few seconds before they start to wane to their original tone.. not everyone's vocal chords is made of titanium like christina..

Yes she was, earlier in her career along with Britney, BSB, Nsync. She got more popularity when she dropped the album Stripped. But it was controversial at that time and it was ahead of it's time. A lot of listeners prefer Pop songs before that are easy to sing along with. I'm not sure about the new generation of singers now but I've seen Regine Velasquez, Sara Geronimo sing her songs.

I think she overpowered the note and added tiny a bit too much rasp which caused her earplugs to go wild. She went flat for a moment and took the earplug off and went back on key almost immediately :)

Yazik Reacts Listening again and reading what you wrote to me, I think that she has not been able to control the notes at the limit of her range (the high ones) and also that the "scratching" that she does with her voice cannot always control it ...

it is off. she always distort her voice when she can actually sing the easier way. but the beginning and last riff is beautiful though.
