I’ve had a sore throat for 3-weeks now and been in the ER twice so far. I tested negative for COVID, negative for Strep, negative for Mono, and I’m currently on oral thrush medication (but I’m not improving). My symptoms are progressing quickly, trouble swallowing, off and on cough, pain in throat and now pain in right ear. I asked my PCP to sent me to ENT immediately.
Thanks for sharing this, it helped educate me on my options. I was diagnosed with stage 1a cancer on the right vocal fold and was initially only offered radiation as an option. I ended up going to Mayo in Phoenix and having the KTP laser surgery last week. I’m just waiting to see how my voice ends up sounding.
@@boomerang6130 Hi there, I'm happy to report that I am cancer free 16 months and counting and my voice sounds completely normal. I would recommend the KTP laser treatment to anyone facing a similar diagnosis.
@@MrDharmabum70 That is so wonderful and I am super happy for you. Are things still going well for you friend? Is your voice still ok? Final question, what was the cause of your cancer?

I had a polip (non cancerous ), my doctor removed with some part of right vocal cord, even the polip was on very thin "leg". Now I am voiceless, 10 days passed after surgery. I am very scared, to become voiceless at this young age. I cannot work, how I am going support my family, I have small children. If anybody knows, if a vocal cord can be recovered after it was cut partially, please help me.
This was not an option for me ,I speak like a man and have to take a breath after speaking so many words because my vocal cords do not touch. I basically speak with my false vocal cords . This is after radiation . Which by the way lead to a deep tissue abscess and a medically induced coma for three weeks. My life is forever changed
