KZ is a petite sassy Phillipina that is making music her way. She won 1st Phillipines XFactor. She had surgery on her throat for polyps and lost her high belting ability and nearly gave up singing, but her Dad encouraged her to continue and she repackaged herself. The covers she does are always super unique. She is a vocal magician.

The blue part represented the sadness of her realization of heart loss, with autotune representing her waivering (cry) voice. Then the stage turns red which represents her anger and determination to get even.

I like the broken voice effect at the start, she's playing it like an instrument. It literally is like she's all busted up and looking in a broken mirror. Never heard it done so well. Absolutely "she's doing it in the right way", she knows exactly when this effect is going to break the note, and she's using it so stunningly. When you see Jessie Js mind blown with her musical bravery. Respec. This is a Bohemian Rhapsody. She's has sung five different musical styles in one song. A master of arranging. Genius, really.

Just watching the surprised looks and shear joy in your faces told me that KZ has won your heart and soul. Yes, her other songs won't disappoint you. I don't speak other languages such as Filipino tagalog or Chinese mandarin, but after hearing her song using a totally foreign language to her, such as mandarin and captivating her Chinese audience emotionally, tells me she is a perfectionist that will win your heart and soul, because of her dedication to get the pronunciation just right, with passion and powerful emphasis on the lyrics, that tells a heartfelt story, is truly amazing.

Royals and Real Gone is another mind blowing performance at the same contest she participated. Using auto tune was used to give the song a different flavor in the first verse. Welcome to the wonderful world of KZ Tandingan. Of course she has her own songs. Disney will not ask her to sing one of their songs in the their latest movie “Raya and the Last Dragon” if she is not a great singer. She always cover a song differently, even with the same song. You’ll always be guessing what she’s going to do with that song. Watch her cover this same song “Rolling in the Deep” in the Wishbus and see what I mean. But if you want to really see her vocal agility, then I suggest that you watch her perform “Feeling Good” with another great Filipino artist, Jaya.

A lot of people think KZ’s intro in Singer 2018 is auto tune. I think it’s a Reverb or other called it electro-synthesizer to give a different effect while singing. Auto tune is different from vocal effects. Either way KZ Tandingan slayed that performance! ctto-

It was an invite only competition so she brought her originality to the song to compete. She arranges lots of her cover songs to be here own starting from her first audition for the one and only xfactor in the Philippines which she won...that has two songs so if you watch it wait for the second song which is a wrap song. She won xfactor. One of my favorites from the Philippines...her Morisette...Bugoy Drilon..., Michael P..., Rosarely Ryssy Avila who is the girl singing with Michael P on the wish bus...the song is Rainbow.

She arranged almost all of the songs she performed in that contest including that song. She used to belt high notes when she was young but she got sick and got a throat problem that she thought she can't fulfill her dream to be a famous singer in the Philippines. but she didn't give up, she explored different genres, reinvent her style luckily enough she is the grand champion in X-factor Philippines and the rest is history. KZ did not used autotune in her song...it was her voice....she is known as the human saxaphone of philippines (pls watch her rendition of carpenters - close to you- where she mimicked the sound of the saxaphone)...this was a singing competition held in china and only famous singers around the world were invited to participate...jessie j was one of the contestants...and by the way, singing competition do not allow the use of autotune...cheers

KZ choreographs her own versions of the songs she sings and everything she does in the song is intentional and as you can see, quite deliberate and creative. The use of auto0tune was intentional to throw you off scent. ;) This was sung live for a singing competition held in China in 2018 called "Singer 2018" where they invited some of the best singers to come and compete against each other. Jessie J from UK , who is a professional soloist was one of the contenders and this performance actually beat hers on this specific episode. Jessie J will continue to win the competition. She is from the Philippines and the raps she did in "Tagalog" (native tongue) was also written by her. This isn't so much just to showcase her vocal ability and flexibility but her compositional skills and performance skills were the ones that garnered her the win for this episode of the competition. :)
