Wow. Two years later, and I come across this incredible reaction. "Slayed in the spirit!" Damn straight sir. Damn straight!. Katrina Velarde's voice/instrument is simply other worldly. Yes she does these crazy good impersonations, but there are times when you actually hear Whitney's in this cases tone. When she's doing a MC cover, you get times when you actually hearing nineties Mariah at some stages. Like you said. This voice is clean, crisp, shiny, and lest we forget agile. What an incredible talent she is

Out of every female singer in the Philippines, she takes the cake for me. Morissette Amon is extremely close, though. You should definitely react to more of this woman: "Go the Distance" on the Wishbus, "Somewhere over the Rainbow," "Dangerously in Love," "Never Enough," "Don't You Worry About a Thing," and so many more. She also is quite a good impersonator and has several videos of impersonating famous singers.
Sorry but Katrina's performance of go the distance doesn't do her justice. It doesn't showcase everything she can do. She sounds stifled with Disney songs or songs of that nature. She soars with songs about heartbreak though like what she just performed in this video.

This is such a good tribute. She sang it with her own voice but at the same time we heard a lot of Whitney in her voice. You can see the influence of Whitney to her singing and when you do a tribute, people should see that you love, idolize, and respect the singer you're singing for.
