VOCALOID:AI (ボーカロイド:エーアイ) is a new vocal technology that was first demonstrated using the deceased voice of Hibari Misora to demonstrate its abilities in a live performance. It was first demonstrated in a documentary in relation to NHK broadcasting. The singer's samples were provided by Nippon Columbia.
This is the 3rd project VOCALOID has undergone to use a dead singer as a basis, with Ueki-loid and hide being the previous ones.
It was first announced with VOCALOID3.

In fairness, had they had a singer sing this (with more nuance) and then used AI vocals to replace the original vocals with Hibari’s vocals, I suspect the singing would of sounded more fluid and less staccato. As for the stiff CGI visuals, using RealFake software to transplant HD footage of Hibari over another actress’ face would of looked more realistic. But I commend the Japanese technicians and software experts for coming up with this tech, and always pushing the envelope for the rest of the world. I am an Hibari Misora super-fan, but this left me underwhelmed. A beautiful melody and they nailed Hibari’s delicious vibrato. I just wanted more.

Nunca entenderé por qué se esperaron hasta DESPUÉS de RVC y SynthV para terminar sacando VOCALOID6 y que suene peor que RVC cuando tenían esto desde hace mucho antes.

@@LucyLerma Porque las empresas que apostaban a la inovación y nuevos métodos como Voctrolabs se fueron de sabático cariño. Yamaha quería seguir en el mismo método cuando para mí, ya habían alcanzado sus mejores niveles de calidad para V4 y ya con V5 no noté mucha mejoría y dije pa que hacen más? Pa vender licencias a los que quieran sacar actualizaciones de VB de sus monas xinas? A y una preguntita, ¿cuándo masomenos salió el RVC?

I love great vocalists, and any opportunity to hear great vocalists with a finite number of performances….but a potential of many AI permutations is fascinating. I’m going to presume you were not trying to be an idiot, and you regret such a stupid comment. I’d much rather get along with people and enjoy great talent.

@@stevers62 this is vocaloid we're talking about, and this was from vocaloid 3 which released around 10 years ago. not those ai svc voice-changers like diff-svc.
