I'm writing a fanfiction Republic Commando book, where Spectre Squad (a group of OCs) is attempting to ditch the Empire to seek a life on Mandalore as simple farmers. However, Stick, the squad's demo, is killed by an explosion while buying time for the rest of the Squad to get to a gunship. However, his sacrifice is in vain, as the rest of Spectre is captured. While trying tk escape a prison on Daro, RC-1168, Squad lead and protagonist, he hits his head, and forgets the end of the Clone Wars and Stick's death. When he returneds to save his brothers some time later, he's crushed, as he remembers his failure to his squad, and the brother they lost.

Oh, I love this! . . . . . . . It sounds like the end of Republic Commando but worse - like if all of them died. Or if Boss was the only survivor, and was looking out of a gunship, back over the fields as he left the last planet he and his squad had been sent to. 😥 Beautifully done!

Okay, I'm not in fact writing any Clone fanfic here, I am just moved by the tune to write something. The Commando sat in the shuttle that had taken them from their objective, a mission well accomplished as good as any might expect from the Commandos. "After the mission on Geonosis...' he thought to himself. "Well, we went in as the usual style, which is always unusual to our common brothers. We landed in carnage, did our task, and left out of the carnage. All four in, all four out, mission completed. We could ask for no more than that. And yet...' the Commando shifted in his seat. "In these quiet minutes after, I look out over the battlefield. Brown sand lay strewn with the white of our fallen brothers, clanker scraps by their side. Other Delta units, brothers we had trained with...gone." "But that is what we were bred to do; trained to be prepared for. You just do not think of it until after it all. The hours of combat are quiet. The minutes of peace...the minutes in which I remember my fallen brothers...those are the loudest minutes of them all..." (I'll leave it up to you the reader to decide whom this could apply to ;) I hope you like it!)
