The brown bird is actually the same species...most birds of paradise females are like that, most of the times it's the males that have really showy and colourful feathers

These are the 2 forces of nature: diversity and natural selection. That's why women nowadays are not religious, and when they were before, they were faking it, because our society's ethics which is based on christian ethics doesn't support natural selection because it's cruel. And also that's why so many women identify with darkness rather than with light, as the men. Even they sexual organs represent darkness/depth vs light/peak. That's why some men are complaining that women are just a feelingless race preservational apparatus. And that's why (male) Christianity have put the "soft" role on women to balance that, but nature also confirms that women are inherently cruel. Of course this is true only from a Christian point of view. I don't know about the pagan view. If you think about it, natural selection and diversity are 2 evolutionary principles that work against each other. Someone said, the man is the thesis and the woman is the antithesis. Well maybe feminists would argue that is the other way around. It's also amazing how women who comment here are receptive to the birds behaviour and looks. Oh God, we are just animals, really.
